Me too. Will take time to get used to it.

An example is the sony stock launcher for example. You have to press menu button to get that little wallpaper widget thing to come up. well you can hold down also. But I have no empty spot on my home screen lol so I got used to menu button. SO I keep going down to the regular button lol.

I know. This is not a regular menu that pop up like say a go launcher. I use Ez Launcher and the Soft menu button is visible on the right.

I might try out a new launcher. I do enjoy Sony's though. My phone has been kinda slow recently opening things like messaging up and no idea why. I think it is just the Sony stuff that is slow

Download the Original Framework zip from OP and flash it.

This mod actually originally made for tablet and phone that doesn't have a physical/capacitive back,home,menu,and search button right?Eg. Galaxy Nexus,and their new tablet...

[Q]Why does home button pull up task manager when waking it

I know I can't be the only one here. This is driving me crazy. Please help. My phone was rooted stock..then I unrooted and took all the updates to get current. Now ALMOST every time I wake up my phone with the home button, it brings up the task manager. It never did this since I've had my phone on launch day. Is it something in the update? Can I turn something off? I've scoured the net for this answer and can't seem to get it. I appreciate the help.

I can't offer any help, other than to confirm you aren't crazy! Mine has been doing the same thing ever since the update. Drives me nuts. There are many times when it's easier to turn on my pone with the home button. Very annoying...

And this update has also brought the "didn't catch that. Try speaking again" at least once a day, when I'm speaking a text. I've never seen that before either. Awful.

Not experiencing this issue here. AT&T Stock (stupidly updated from rooted stock to stock 4.1.2).
I've always used the power key though. Been pushing the home key ever since I read this thread (about an hour ago lol)

What lockscreen methods are you all using? Do you have the preview motion on? S-Pen settings? Voice command wake up settings?
swipe or No lock for me. When I did have swipe, I just had the clock & user banner. no preview motion. S-Pen sensor is off until removed. No voice command wake up.
Am I going in the right direction here?

It's an issue with the latest sprint update. I'm sure it wouldn't effect you since your on att.
Either way, I use no lock.

Yes! I was going nuts too. But just had to do it the old fashion way an get used to pushing the power button

This is driving me nuts on my T-Mobile Note 2, 4.1.2 OS. I spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot this issue thinking i installed a misbaving app. I'm using the factory T-Mobile 4.1.2 upgrade ROM that's been rooted. Its hard to believe this wasn't tested before releasing this to thousands of people. Is there a way to at least manually fix this? I really need to be able to have a dependable home button on my Note 2.

I use lmt for pie controls, remap my home button to power instead, and my power button is now my camera shutter.. I missed my camera button on my evo lte, but that about sums up what I miss about it.. Anyway, this way the home button doesn't bring up recent apps, access it from pie control..

You should make a how to thread, I'm sure many others like myself wouldn't have thought to do that. Having a camera button would be nice!

[TIP] wake device by focus button [ALL ROMs/firmwares]

First of all this is just a simple tweak and maybe I shouldn't open new topic but I'm sure there's lot of you who want that feature but don't know how to enable it.
So here we go.
First you need root manager or ROM tool box/Root Browser(or Root Explorer )
Open it and go to /system/usr/keylayout
Find file fuji-keypad.kl
Add this line (from picture - line focus)
Restart and enjoy.
If you can't save file then you are not using explorer I suggested.

It's easier to unlock device, just tap button and screen is on ; you'll preserve your power button and it's cool
And if you want to get back to stock settings and disable unlock by focus ;
Open that file again and just delete "WAKE_DROPPED"
Save file and restart.

Well it wake your device by focus
O.K, when your phone is locked you have to press power (or vol up/down - if you have that mod) to unlock screen, right?
Well this tweak will enable focus button (low pressure on camera button) to unlock your screen, like power button.
It's easier to press that button and you will save your power button.
Every button or key have xy number of "click", after some time of heavy use it won't work like when device was new.
So guys found a way how to use power buttons to unlock devices, now you have third option

Decreased performance on 4.2 update

Having updated to the 4.2.2,I felt a little decrease in performance,,boot took 43 seconds from the earlier 34-36 seconds,,also antutu benchmark resulted for a score of 19693 from the earlier 20273 ...I felt a little glitch in the pinch to zoom in album.Is the New fw heavier for this hardware than the previous firmwares?? Does anyone facing the same issue??

IMO, benchmarks doesn't tell anything about overall phone performance I think, 4.2.2. is slight improvement, only "cosmetic" for me ... I am most happy and this is the major plus for me - the battery life is quite longer:good:

doesnt feel decreased perforamnce.. but its does improve for me.. from camera aspect, it's focus well and correct.. UI much smoother.

Can some one tell me is the noise in pics decreased or not?Thank you

Well the camera quality i think decrese.... on 307 it was much much clear not raini, and on this 1 the new 4.2.2 423 the quality goes down..... i think I'll go back to 307.

I didn't notice much different when I first installed it on my C6506, but today I am feeling menus and app switching to be laggy. My battery indicator is also off, yesterday it shut down on me with 15% and today after a reboot it gained 20%.
My upgrade was done through the Mac Sony software and I didn't wipe anything.

First time I installed it (via PCC) I noticed my phone noticeably slower in most aspects. I did a full restore again with PCC (for other reasons) and now it's much smoother, startup and shutdown much much faster than with 4.1.2.

Same for me Scrolling isn't smooth but I felt it on Chrom the page load 100% and then try go up or down and it like forze for few seconds before the page move !

I don't use Chrome but Firefox and everything runs smooth.

Full wipe is always recommended after upgrading

I noticed the slower performance after the 4.2.2 update, so I did a factory reset and voila, I LOST GOOGLE NOW! It was perfectly working on 4.1.2. I shouldn't have done the factory reset. It doesn't wanna get enabled. Anyone else encountered this? Thanks.

Yes, I know that. Thanks. It's apparently based on the System Language I chose. Any language that is not supported by Google Now will have Google Now disabled.

Problems In indian official 4.2.2 update for Grand

Hallo all yesterday I have updated my Grand to 4.2.2 inu version using odin then I done a factory reset on phone after that haptic feedback vibration from all three buttons are gone is there any way to get them back??? Plzz help me out
Here are some features are gone in 4.2.2
1. No more one handed keyboard
2.after getting new msg its only show new msg arrive in notifications previously on 4.2.1 its shows the whole msg in notification
3.powersaving mode doesn't effect cpu speed

Goto message - settings - notifications and check preview messages. You will get msg problem rectified. For cpu problem root your phone and dl no frill cpu control.

The youtube app is acting weird. I am getting bad quality video even on hq. Youtube works fine on chrome, and also the player controls (seek bar) disappears in landscape mode. Any ideas?

Try to use third party apps to view high quality video's and also there is an option to download video's also. I recommend tubemate apps.

Its just disabled by default.
In messaging app, go into settings>notification settings and tick the preview message option.
Issues for me are
1) lag in some system apps like gallery(huge lag!),settings,recent apps screen etc.
2) no floating keyboard in multi window.

ES Task manager
N toggle ton haptic feedback option in
Power optimizer > others
U will get haptic feedback then after
