Note 2 lte pros and cons? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I am considering the note 2 phone because it's pretty cheap now 299€. Do you recommended the phone? I am using motorola DROID RAZR atm with locked bootloader. I saw that there is difference between 4g note 2 and 3g note 2 regarding roms and the 4g version doesn't have many roms... How is stock rom? Can I live with it?

I have a LTE its awesome. powerful and the stock rom is also exceptional. regarding battery life. the stock rom is awesome for me. 2-4 days dependant on use.

so u mean that someone can live with stock rom? because the supply of roms for note 2 lte is not very good as note 2 3g

As soon as I got mine (coming from he 3g version) i just flashed wanam's rom amd cant complain, basically stock woth a few extras
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2

If you want more Roms and things like that . Either get note 2 3G or S4 LTE ..
Since note 2 3G have the most Roms..
And S4 LTE can run all Roms from any carrier variant ..
I have note n7100, the H+ speed is really fast..

But is stock rom good enough for daily use? Does it have much bloatware? I keep reading that the best battery life is with stock rom. Also there offer is only for the lte version until Sunday so I order one. It can't be worse then my motorola razr with lock bootloader...
I chose the note 2 over the nexus 4, mainly because the note has expandable memory slot for SD card and bigger battery. Razr maxx hd is not available in Europe..

7-8 hours screentime is pretty amazing and afaik there is no smartphone (other than droid razr maxx hd) that can beat that...

Only thing that worries me is the lack of roms does anyone know why n700 roms wont work on n7105? its same hardware.
I just read that someone used at&t rom for n7105 and it worked perfect like PA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272755
does at&t roms work for n7105?

What do u mean by diffrent radio? I like to try out new roms when samsung decides not to upgrade the phone anymore...so its nice to have some dev support.
Can we flash at&t roms?

Well the othet one has lte, other one not.
Im not a dev but i think it pretty easy to modify n7100 rom for n7105...

I have some cash for a phone off contact. I don't have enough for the s3, but I want a Samsung. I'm done with HTC.

Yeah, I know. Sorry.
I have the HTC sensation. Wonder how much better either phone is then the sensation. But the specs look good for T-Mobile, including data speeds.

It's all about personal preference. The Nexus has data speeds with a theoretical max of 21 Mbps where as the S2 is 42.
On the other hand, the nexus will always have the latest and greatest software ( as long as the device is still supported by google).
Depends on what you're going to do. With a custom ROM, I found the performance to be slightly better with the G.Nexus in normal day-to-day activities such as texting and web browsing (because of Project Butter). However, the difference is pretty small. I also highly prefer the stock OS but G.Nexus does not have wifi calling so that was a deal breaker for me.

Having had a Nexus One previous to a Galaxy S II, it's a no brainer to me. Galaxy Nexus brand new for $350 running Jelly Bean Stock.... there's really no decision here...

I really want a Samsung device. I can't afford 500+ for a new phone. But 350, hella yeah. With this Nexus you wouldn't need to worry about "lack of roms". Plus, from what I've been seeing. I don't think Google is releasing a new Nexus Phone. The Nexus 7 & Q took that place this year. So you wouldn't need to worry about an old device
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk 2
Get the Galaxy Nexus if you like to get updates from Google and if you want a bigger screen. Get the S2 if you want a better camera and touchwiz.
S2 with AOKP all the way but that's just my opinion.

What exactly do you think you are supposed to be seeing? Google has released a new device every year since creating the nexus program, why would this year be any different?

New guy !!!!!

Hey guys just picked up my galaxy s3 yesterday from Att. I traded my gnex and got $120 towards a new upgrade so I only paid $80 for the gs3. As soon as i got it I rooted and installed a custom ROM hahaha . I used a stock ROM because I like the motion features in touchwiz i( I wish cm10 or mui would incorporate this into the ROMs). Anyway I could've gotten a nexus 4 and saved my upgrade but I really need an lte device because my tf700 does not have mobile connection ( so I tether ). I go to school in Pittsburgh we have great lte speeds here !!! Also I'm only interested in the software of the nexus 4 ..I think gs3 hardware is good . Dualcore 1.5 is good enough for a phone ..quad core is just for bragging rights no?
So far so good I love the camera ...I feel a noticeable speed difference ( gs3 is a lot faster than gnex)

Good choice :good:. If your really want to see the SIII run fast try out Task650 and Ktoonsez AOKP ROM along with Ktoonsez kernal ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684 )
Hey man welcome.
All I can say is that you will live the development here. There are countless roms for the s3. And if you're having trouble deciding get the best of all worlds with paranoidKANGdroid.

[Opinion Needed] please come in

So hi guys
I recently got quite bored with my note 2
And sick of the fact that aosp wont ever be perfect on this phone because of Samsung notvreleasing sources...
And so I tried to trade it
I got an offer where I can get a 16gb used nexus 4 and around 125usd for my note 2
Do you guys think its worth the trade?
May I please have your opinions?
Thx

Perfect as in no spen features and such? Does the nexus 4 have spen to begin with. Basically u can install aosp rom and it will be exactly or not better then the nexus 4. Needless to say about the 5.5inch and long battery life. Why waste money on a downgrade when u can have the possibility of an upcoming dual boot kernal coming in.

Sure. Asking this question in a forum of Note II owners isn't going to help you any. Everyone (like myself) has paid a lot of money for the phone so of course we're going to defend it (no one likes to think they purchased a lemon)
You'd better off looking in the phone you want to trade for and reading their opinions. Everyone phone sounds perfect on paper but when you get it has issues. Remember that.

S3 i747M To be outdated soon?

*sigh*
My dad recently traded his iPhone 5 with an S3 i747M from Rogers Canada plus 200 Cash.
I ran sygic (gps app) and it lagged a lot on his phone compared to my S2 i9100.
Will this mean my dad's S3 will be outdated soon with a weaker GPU at 1280X720 screen (Bad choice Samsung!)?

Last I looked the Mega had very little dev support while the Note 2 has tons of roms. Based on that, and the better hardware, I'd go with the Note 2.
i think it depends on what you would be using. If you want a big screen with good performance (I would think mega to be a tad faster than note 2 given to the snapdragon SoC), prob better battery life, then go with mega. If you think you would need the rom, S-pin input, slightly ligheter and more portable the note is your choice. I think if you plan to carry the phone with you as a primary device, I think Note II probably offers the best combination of features, size, weight.
