LGOG internet apps stopped working after flash - LG Optimus G (International)

Hi,
Today i flashed a 4.1.2 rom and phone looked all right. Then i rooted. Seemed ok. THEN i tried to use my internet app and said ¨unfortunately browser has stopped¨ and quits. Chrome starts with a blank page and quits too.
I tried erasing data and cache on browser and all google apps but same problem.
Any idea what can be wrong? I sure have very little idea of what i did to my phone since i just followed instructions. Everything else seems to work all right. I also changed the ¨tether entitlement something¨ to value of 0 with sqlite in order to activate the wifi tether.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Moe
Update: Made a hard reset and chrome is working now, browser still dead!

Wont Download apps

Hey ive had my desire for about a month now and i loaded it up with apps when i started but recently ive been tryin to downlaod some new ones but it wont download, it will sit at starting download forever. i have tried this on wifi and on mobile connections. i did just manage to download the flashlight apk from the QR code but it still doesnt like the market for some reason, is there any fix to this? ive tried taking out battery an sim and memory card and rebooting but to no avail, many thanks if anyone can help, tom
I had exactly the same thing yesterday, everything had been working fine for a week or so, and then suddenly when I went to the market, nothing would download.
Like you, I tried all of the obvious rebooting etc etc, but still downloads just displayed "starting download" or something similar, and it just stayed there!
Finally decided to do a "Factory data reset", under "Privacy" in the "Settings" menu and that seemed to work. I hope it doesn't start doing it again, as it took me forever to get everything setup again!
had the same today.
i went to cache/dalvik-cache and deleted [email protected]@[email protected]
worked afterwards
No idea what I have done but it did help
I find signing into google talk works

[Q] Market not downloading via 3G [Working]

Was working fine until yesterday and suddenly I'm no longer able to download any application via 3G, but WiFi works fine.
Clearing the caches, uninstalling the market update and rebooting the phone server times didn't help.
Anything I can do to get it back on track?
can you internet with 3g ?

do you have an antivirus installed ?
as one of the ones i had wouldnt allow me to download from the market but when i uninstalled it was fine again
Nope. I don't have any Antivirus installed (never installed before also).
It's very strange, yesterday I went on to repair the firmware and still I can't download anything from market via 3G, but WiFi still works without any problem. Now this is starting to annoy me
I deleted the APN settings and re-downloaded them via the Sony Ericsson Menu and bingo, started to work!
Hopefully it stays like this.
Thanks for everyone who tried to help.
3G not downloading from Market
I had the exact same issue after applying the new ROM from overcome. Deleted the APN settings and re-created. All is downloading great. Would not have figured it out if not for this post.

[Q] Google Refresh Loop

Hi there,
I tried seraching around but couldnt find the answer to this question.
I'm running stock browser with my S3 on stock rom
Recently when i set google.com as my homepage and when i open a new tab, it would continuously refresh
I find that this only happens when im signed into google.
When I'm not signed in to google its fine.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to resolve this?
thanks!
This must be a fairly new issue since i couldnt find anything online
and this thread has recently popped up
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr/231264-browser-acting-crazy-2.html#post2339694
I joined to see if they had any solutions.
erasing history and cache wont help
bumping this thread.
Has anyone experienced this or know the solution?
I know you can by pass it by
- Go to classic mode
- Go incognito
- Use chrome
- If u enter google image search signed in, it wont refresh either
- sign out
- dont set ur home page to google (dont ever go to google home page)
but they are no solutions.
Same problem
I just started using the stock browser again because chrome is crashing and I keep getting a refresh loop on normal (not incognito), but only when I'm logged in. Maybe this is something to do with a CM10 update because all was fine before.
I too am haveing this issue.I tried everything to try to resolve even a full wipe and reinstalling ROM and gapps again didn't help.it seems I have to just stay signed out..

i dont think its a custom rom issue
im running stock everything essentially and i still have it
i read somewhere to take out battery and sim and put it back in, then it will work. i have yet to try this, but it wont hurt to give it a shot
same problem, no solution
Problem has began Saturday 1 December late afternoon
Same issue.
I've clean history and cache browser, hard reset the phone but the problem is still present.
It affects Miui browser and Dolphin.
No problem with firefox mobile or chrome.
Very strange, no solution till now.
Thank you.

Cannot connect to Play after upgrade

Hi so I have a HTC Desire A8181and finally decided it was time to play about with some of the new firmwares that are out there to give my phone a new lease of life. Firstly I tried an update to 4.0.4 and ran into this problem.
Everything else works fine but I just cannot log into my google account to connect to Play and sync my contacts etc. I get the could not establish a reliable connection to the server error. I can browse the internet fine and have a solid 3G connection. I read through some other forums about changing the host file but this made no difference for me. Also tried turning off the auto date/time but this didn't make any difference also.
After many hours I gave up and assumed it must be something in that ROM. I installed a 4.1.1 ROM and ran into the same issue again!
When I restore back to my original 2.3.3 it works straight away. Checked the host file and it has nothing in there other than the local host.
I am now left on 2.3.3 as I can't get passed this hurdle and hit it with two completley different ROM's
The phone is rooted and has the custom recovery.
Any help would be very much appriciated so I can finally leave 2.3.3!

Thanks for your reply. I tried as you said but still no luck! The web browser works fine just seems to be the apps that can't connect.
Sorted it at last! Turns out once updated to the new firmwares was defaulting to a different APN setting.

So you just changed the APN settings back to the original (2.3.3) and it worked?

Google apps not working just after rooting lollipop.

UPDATE 2: The problem is back again. I did a factory reset yesterday night and restored my stuff and everything was working fine. I woke up this morning and the problem was back just like before. I'm at my wits end here. I may try to factory reset again later, but I'm not that hopeful. Please reply if you have the slightest clue on what to do here.
Hello, I just rooted my phone using one of the new methods of rooting without downgrading. This is the thread I'm referring to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
So, after that whole process, I did manage to successfully root the device and that it working fine. However, now some of the google apps cannot connect to the internet. (Gmail, Play Store, Chrome) Heck, even amazon app store can't connect. Also, when I click on some of the ads they don't connect either. Now, I know for a fact that I can connect to the internet. Some apps like reddit news, google maps and such are working just fine. Also, with youtube, I can't see any of the thumbnails for the video but I can watch all videos just fine.
So the issue is when I open chrome and go to a webpage it gives me a proxy error: ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED. I don't use proxy server. I also check in wifi setting that proxy is set to none. The same problem occurs when I disconnect wifi and use data. I have tried many of the basic solutions like deleting and re-downloading play store apk. I have cleared cache and other basic stuff.
Please help me out, I really don't know what to do here. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that google maps works. Also, I just downloaded firefox apk and tried to see if firefox can connect to internet. It's getting the same proxy error as chrome. Now, I'm starting to freak out a little.
UPDATE: I just went and factory reset my phone, everything is fine now. I honestly don't know what happened and why, but it's fine now so I guess its ok.

Thanks but unfortunately Dalvik clear didn't help either. At thing point I'm considering factory reset but I'll wait and see if anyone else has another idea before I need to go through full wipe.
The problem is back again, great.
