So I am trying to figure out if I am missing a setting or if I can mod the SecPhone.apk to show the length of time you where on a call with some one? On the tmobile and verizon S3 if you go to logs and select a call it will show length of time under the time of day. On my note 2 and sprint S3 it does not show this info.

You can go to Call Log Or Call Statistics.. Click on the phone call you're inquiring about.. And obtain this info... Just one click away from the Call Log. No digging really.

Its showing 2 separate calls for displayed contact. Are you not able to click on those calls to bring up the info for each call?
topherk no it does nothing
xxStarbucksxx clicking either one does nothing.
On the verizon and Tmobile Stock TW versions that same screen shows a time length under the time of day called.
Wow.. That's odd. And unfortunately I haven't used TW 4.1.2 in a while.. And even when I did I never checked my call logs. Sorry.

Go to phone dialer. Tap logs. Tap number you want to know about. Tap menu again. Then View Contact. There is a history tap, tap that.
I can suggest to try this 4 step process.

There's always SwypeDialer via the playstore. It seems a lot of people on Sprint stock have that issue. But you should be able to click or long press the call in question and it should bring up details.
Thanks for the help. I would rather modify the stock to work the way I want it instead of installing another app.

If it's enabled in VZW phones and disabled in ours, I'd bet it's a Build.Prop line item. I don't have a copy of the VZW build.prop to compare, but if you can get your hands on one and compare it to ours, you might be able to find the line item that either enables or disables the call duration display.

Seems that more than a few people have this issue, even with the actual OTA update.
I am also missing any sort of Spring boot animation, only the LG animation plays.

I am assuming it wasn't corrected before they sent out the OTA, they probably put Chameleon and change the boot ani so that people don't know which phone it is for.
I think you can go into the build.prop and change it to Sprint if you really want it. And if you really want the Sprint boot ani's you can check out my thread here.
Try reactivating the phone and updating the prl and profile. I've heard that fixes it. Do the dial menu combo, can't remember the numbers. Lol

Okay, I will tell you the answer and the reason it is doing it. But, it will cost you 5 bucks each......just kidding.
What is Chameleon?
In an internal memo I found Sprint announced they will lease their network to independent companies and you could use existing unbranded Sprint phones for the service. The network is named Chameleon because you can disguise it to be any network you want. You could make it Billy Bob's Mobile if you wanted.
How?
All they have to do is turn off the branding. It will change the Sprint boot animation in the network settings and hocus pokus, you have a stock LG boot animation and a phone that say "Chameleon" instead of "Sprint".
The fix?
Turn back on your Sprint boot animation in the network settings.

Interesting, how is it randomly happening?
Where in the network settings exactly? Ive never seen this option. My phone is still stock.

Funny thing is I've never had this "Chameleon" issue on Stock or otherwise. I could post a build.prop with the proper carrier ID but folks would need to root to apply the fix. Personally, I say ignore it and enjoy the phone.
Would I hurt anything to run ##CLEAR# based off these codes?

I don't know what option it is that does it. But, it is something you changed in the dialer menu. Ask autoprime on irc. I was the one that told him what was causing the issue. He knew what exactly fixed it.

Okay, first, if your not on Sprint than you don't want to do this. So, are you on boost or cricket?
If you are on Sprint you need to turn your branding back on. This is what I have been saying all along.
You need to go to the dialer. Type 3845#*970#. Go to Data. Go to PPP. Changed it back from Undetermined to Sprint.
But, like I said. If your not on Sprint let us know what your on and we can go from there. Either way, it is something you did to the network settings. Hope that helps.

I am on Sprint. The only thing I did was receive the OTA, didnt touch a single thing after that.
Going through that menu, the PPP options are Undeterminded, Sprint, SKT_Sprint. I tried selecting "Sprint" and it didnt take. I just tried "SKT_Sprint" and it still says Chameleon.
Tried the ppp change as well with no success
Selected Sprint, phone rebooted with no change
Okay, there is another way but I don't remember what it is. You use nova launcher. You create a shortcut to update something.
Ask autoprime on irc or send him a pm. He should know what it is.
I am trying but it seems like a persistent bug. Somehow your phones became unbranded. It really shouldn't be an issue other than it not saying Sprint.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
Change the "ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha" field value from "Chameleon" to "Sprint" in the build.prop file and then reboot. Downloading a build.prop editor from the market was easiest for me but you can change it manually as well.

id be careful changing certain settings. setting SKT could lead to broken 3g.
a ##786# reset seems to also lead to "chameleon". if you lgnpst'd back to stock zv9.. then upgraded to zvb it should fix chameleon issue.. but thats annoying.
easy fix...
1. install nova launcher
2. with nova launcher now set as launcher hold on homescreen to create new shortcut.
3. select new short cut > activities.
4. scroll down the list until you see "Update Device"... click update device then look for a "Branding" submenu.
5. Click on "Branding" and you will make a "Branding" shortcut on your Homescreen.
6. Click new "Branding" shortcut and set Branding to "Sprint"
Confirmed working in both ZV9 and ZVB.

thanks! works awesome! also for everyone else you can use apex as well if you have it.
I need some help folks.
I developed an app, via a website called Andromo.com, to play my shoutcast radio. I broadcast at both 64kbs and 32kbs, MP3.
My app works fine on most phones, but I have seen about 3 so far that it won't work on. I think it has something to do with the phone's user agent. But, the GS3 usually works fine.
I have a friend with a G3 and while he is connected to WiFi the app works like a charm and streams beautifully. But, the moment he disconnects from WiFi and connnects to 3G, the app quits working and says something about unable to access audio file. HUH? His wife's GS3 does the same thing, by the way.
Can anybody out there give me a clue as to what's going on? Is Sprint somehow blocking shoutcast via 3G? Or, is there a bug in the GS3 software? Or, can it be a bug in my app?
I know very little about the actual innards of an app, so is there some way that the app could be coded wrong that causes this only on the GS3?
Most likely it's just the app's way of making sure that theres a stable connection
Similar to how FaceTime for iOS only worked over wifi?

Hm, theres probably some sort of spoofing app that would either sandbox it and make it *think* its still in a wifi network, or some sort of tool that would disguise your mobile network connection as a wifi connection
Because if I remember correctly, there are a bunch of other streaming type apps for Android that do this too
The easiest place to fix this would be straight in the code though

You mean the code, as in the code for the app? So, it is most likely a problem with the app itself then?
So I should contact Andromo.com and see if it's something in the code?
But, why only on a very few deivces?
Pardon my ignorance, please. I am looking to learn to code apps myself, but having only a basic knowledge of HTML, and nothing else, I have to start at the very beginning......

Ah, that changes things
Did they have wifi enabled (even though it wasnt connected)?
I'm not sure. I can ask them.
One of them has a ZTE Warp, and is in Mexico using WiFi and the app still will not play on his phone.
I contacted Andromo.com and they seem to think it has something to do with the User Agent the phone manufacturer uses.
But, the S3 my friend has will work on WiFi, but not using Sprint Mobile Data, makes me wonder......
I dont know, probably some weird bug with how the app is connecting
Post the app, might have something to do with their network, if you post it here then we could see if it works... if you don't want to post publicly or its a paid app, pm it to me (I would say cnexus but I believe his gs3 died recently) and I will see if it works for me......

I have the SP600 and trying to find out if there is a way to disable the boot up sound on a stock rom? I looked through the settings but didn't see anything. I saw in development forum a custom rom recently developed for the 600 you can disable it there. Is that the only way, root and flash the custom rom? My wife doesn't want to root hers as she is afraid of giving up the warranty. I get my 600 Wednesday and will be rooting and flashing it.

Works for me both sides.

After modifying it, will you have to enable call recording manually on every call or just turn on once then work all the time?

For this one you have to enable each call, (my personal preference) - however with some more coding to the same app and Leedroid tweaks to turn the MOD on it will auto record incoming/outgoing calls. (his tweaks apk is free in play store and you can download his latest rom and take the Telephony.apk and flash it and good to go from there.)

Will this also work for the HTC U11 (I'm on Viper ROM)?
If yes (& brilliant if it does or if something similar available for U11), do I just flash your MOD posted earlier in this thread?

I'd have to take a peek at the U11 Viper ROM Telephony.apk.
However if on Viper, do they have a MOD for call recording, or any talk of it in their threads?
They are really good about request, but I also don't mind taking a look and seeing how different the code is.
If you can pull the .apk from Viper ROM using a root explorer type of application I can decompile it and see. :good:
Thanks for your response.
No call recording feature/ mention for HTC U11 on Viper threads as far as I'm aware.
LeeDroid has it working for single-SIM, but not available for Dual-SIM variant of U11 yet.....
How (& where from) do I pull the Telephony.apk and post it for your attention
I have located a "Telephony+DD_DS.apk" in ROOT-->SYSTEM-->PRIV-APP folder - Would this be the correct one?
Also, are you able to guide regarding modifying mixer_paths.xml to increase speaker phone & in-call volumes for the U11 please?? No help/ guidance given in the other ROM forums yet.

How cool are you?:good:
Thanks for the quick replies & trying to resolve :fingers-crossed:this on my request.
Just tried your files...... (I have a dual-SIM model BTW)
Unfortunately it did not work - instead, my 'End Call' button & 'Speakerphone' button have vanished
The back2stock.zip did not resolve my now new found problems either:crying:
Now I cannot even end a call I have started unless I hit the Flight Mode

Hi - I seemed to have trial & error resolved my new found problem by re-installing "Telephony+DD_DS.apk" which is already stored in root PRIV-APP.
I am back to working stock Telephony now but left with an extra "Telephony folder/apk" in PRIV-APP which does not want delete despite my attempts.

Shoot, this may of been my mistake.
I downloaded the Viper U11 ROM and pulled the Telephony.apk.
I didn't see the Telephony+DD_DS.apk.
Do you mind posting the link to the Video ROM.zip that you use.
Also using an app like root explorer, you copy the Telephony+DD_DS.apk to say internal or sd-card, then upload to a place like Dropbox and leave me the link here.
I apologise for any inconveniences here, I should had realized that I was most likely using the wrong file when I couldn't find Telephony+DD_DS.apk and used Telephony.apk
Hopefully can get it so the call recording give you an option to record. It won't be automatically (we can work on that later if we can get this first).
As for being unable to delete that folder, when in TWRP, use the file manager and it should delete.
Is it possible to Port H2OS Call recorder to OOS?
I love H2OS...but it doesn't support Volte...
and OOS doesn't support call recording...
As a workaround I installed OOS...Booted ans configured it and then went to TWRP and wiped System partion and flashed H2OS.
Now I can use H2OS with Volte.
It will be a lot better if I could use H2OS call recorder on OOS.
Not needed anymore.
OB13 comes with Auto Call Recording.
Enjoy

Try brother..
Can anyone with an oneplus 3, not 3T confirm that we have call recording built it?
Not seeing it on mine either. 1+3
Call recording in OB13 is geo-locked, the option is invisible when you are in countries that have laws against call recording. You might be able to find the menu through using third-party settings shortcut apps.

as i know, the option is only available in China. just change persist.sys.oem.region=OverSeas to persist.sys.oem.region=CN on build.prop and you can get the option.

It worked! Thanks mate. One thing I noticed after the reboot. The capacitive buttons switched places. What will happen if we change the region? Cheers
I can confirm i have this option here in India. Please note that some countries' law does not allow call recording. So it will be disabled for you by default.

I imagine you can switch the buttons in the options.
I am in US and can confirm changing
Code:
persist.sys.oem.region=OverSeas
to
Code:
persist.sys.oem.region=CN
in build.prop did in fact allow for calls to be recorded. It also flipped my back/recents buttons. I was a little curious/worried what else changing the region settings updated, so I changed back to
Code:
persist.sys.oem.region=OverSeas
and after a reboot I am still able to record calls. It's weird though as the buttons are still swapped (so I have to enable the swap buttons option in system settings), but at least I have call recording while still having my oem.region set to OverSeas.
EDIT: Can someone with US phone who has not updated their persist.sys.oem.region check Settings->About phone and see if there is a 'Preinstalled application list' menu item in there? I haven't seen that before and clicking it shows (assumably) a list of apps in Chinese. Also, there is now a 'H₂OS version' with 'Unknown' status in there. I am using 3T OOS Open Beta 4 with FrancoKernel. Any idea what/why that is?

as you know, h2os is the official ROM of Chinese devices which is most likely of oos. this operation simply changes the oos to h2os lack of some special apps. apks below can fix bugs of change.
