Whenever I listen so music or watch a video, the phone reboots after ~20 seconds. No matter which ROM or which kernel. :crying:
3D applications which don't require sound like benchmarks run flawlessly. So I guess it's a speaker problem..
I don't want my Arc to die! :crying:
Even with a all clean stock Rom?

Yup.. even then.
Tried GB, ICS and JB / CM, no help.
Very strange failure. It will even reboot when I listen to ringtones in the ringtone browser or when I rapidly press any buttons on the phonepad when phonepad sounds are turned on.
It might be a hardware issue then..

Haven't you sent your phone for repair ?

My Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc have been experiencing hiccups and frequent hanging after i updated the OS from Gingerbread 2.3 to ICS 4.0.4. This happens when:-
1. a miscall is received.
2. sometimes when loading Gallery images or pictures .
3. Loading applications like CamScanner.
Can this been happening due to the mobile hardware configuration not upto the specification required by ICS 4.0.4. or due to a bug in ICS ?
try to repair with PCC or flash the FTF again
Same on my Arc. Skype hangs or just closes and for next start takes long time. Dialpad takes up to 10 sec to load. Phone restarts all byitself. Did after update factory reset. Than repair from pc companion and again factory reset but it still does same things.
I am seriously thinking about getting back on GB

Try flashing the Global Generic World and see if it makes any difference via Flashtool.

Mine too. Did a repair once with PCC, but didn't resolve problems. Even had problems typing this damn message. Reboots, freezes, etc. Sony crap, as usual.

Try to remove the Sony crapware. Two good lists here and here. Or automatic tool here.
It work like a charm for me.
Well if anyone have a solution for this odd behavior, my XS just stoped playing sound on speaker like walkman, unlock screen sound...other sounds are ok(nottification, ringtone) thats why i think its not hardware problem...also i can't hear person on the other side when i recive call, they can hear me. This happend out of the blue. I tried repairing via pc comp and flashtool. Im on fw. 50, rooted, locked Bl. Stock rom.
Ty in advance for ur help.

This problem was found on the xperia ion:
Cause: Overheating of phone
Effect (according to a users findings): the glue was loosened and something was obstructing the sound piece.
Cause: the use of xLoud (a setting in the sound settings) that sends more "power" to the certain piece of hardware (in this case the listening piece)
so maybe if you go to a sony (tech) store...they can fix it
Ok, so its hardware problem then..damn...
Thnx for quick reply!

Have you had headphones plugged in? If so, it thinks they are still plugged in. Plug em back in and out until it sorts itself

You can even see in the connected devices manager thing what ever the app is called. It'll show em still connected. A few people have had the same issue including me!

Frndz my xperia arc s wont wake up from the sleep once it is left suspended for 1 min. I have cleaned the main board, heated up, checked all belts ... every thing works perfectly when screen is on .. video is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7Lcy1_m5Lc thanks awaiting your opinions.
I think is a hardware issue... Check your service center for assistance, i mean like it's first time i see such issue, and doesn't seem like a software related issue

hi, my phone is lockedbootloader and no matter what rom im using, i experienced laggy, for example while listen to music and browsing internet (have tried stock browser n chrome) the music start to have laggy (not playing properly, very slow) and screen isnt responsive...
anyone experienced the same?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
It's a ICS issue.
If you wait for the official JB release from Sony, you'll see all the lags will be gone

so its ics? i hope so because last sony device i have is hardware problem... i ll wait for jb then...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
It shouldn't be a hardware problem. I had too many issues with ics too, so i think it's ics.
"Sad is happy for deep people" Sally Sparrow
If i may suggest, if you dont want to wait for official JB flash the XZXperience rom ist pretty stable and really fast. Then just flash official jb when its out

Its a known issue.. Happened to me several times and it went on its own. From what my experience says is that it happens mostly due to moisture.and also fore sometimes the sound cane back after patting gently at the back of the device
