I think that this is a great idea, I'm hoping to order one in the next month or two
Saves having to carry around a power pack as it is the power pack

$74 for a 3000mAh power pack?
Buy your own for much less, and stick it in any old backpack.
I use a power pack with four 3400mAh cells in it, giving a total of 13600mAh, $45 from Fasttech.

Clearly you didn't click the link at bottom of OP post (too late now anyway). It was being sold on Vau.lt for $39 (which puts it within somewhat competitive territory), and if you used Android Police's referral, you got a $25 credit, bringing the cost down to $14, with no shipping and handling. I snagged one just for the heck of it.
Indeed I didn't.
That sounds like a pretty good deal for what you get.
Even with the low cost, I dont see the benefit of buying this over an actual portable battery pack?
My Astro Slim 2 is 4500mAh, cost $29, has a built in cable, and can slip into even my skinny jeans (Levi's, for reference) with my phone at the same time.
Or I can just throw it in my bag with my phone.
Plus that bag is hideous...
Just my opinion.

Hi,
just saw that on ebay(http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Genuine-E...sAccessories_PDABatteries?hash=item3a5330dbc1) -->it seems that this store is selling genuine 3800mah batteries at a great price! Too bad, they don't ship worldwide!!
Anyone has purchased from them and test the battery yet?

Hi,
Bought one about two weeks ago and charged it up last Wednesday (4th Nov) and have used it on and off over the last week or so on a daily basis and still indicating 78% full....I don`t use it much admitedly but it seems to perform very well and tempted to get another one..
Clive
you are fortunate to be able to buy one! I'm sure if the seller did ship worldwide, many people from this forum would purchase it!! Unfortunately, he seems to be the only one selling this genuine battery on ebay

Why will they not send to you ?.where are you located ?.....c

I wouldn´t buy such a big battery!
Universal is big enough to make it even more
I prefer to have 2 original batteries
Mine now has 3 years of continuous power... I just find it really hard to hide the battery pack without people commenting
- but on the plus side, I have been able to jump-start peoples cars with this cold weather coming in!

Hi everyone, I was looking for a cradle the past month and since I couldn't find the original from Samsung I looked online and found this one:

I though it was quite cheap and went for it and it finally arrived and I love it!
The cradle despite the price is well built, doesn't moves and it's pretty solid it comes with a micro usd cable to connect it to PC or USB powered outlet, works like a charm!
I'm using it both in the office and home, my phone is no longer everywhere around now it's in a safe place where I can check my emails, twitter, facebook... etc. I totally recommend it!
It only cost 18 USD plus shipping... which is only 3 bucks, I received mine in Mexico in exactly 2 weeks.
I also ordered a 32gb MicroUSB and is also great. Same shipping fee for both.
If you have any questions, please let me know!
I ordered it from shop.brando.com

I have 2 identical ones. One is from Amazon and is called kidigi (or similar) but the 2nd one I got was a no make one from eBay, £8 delivered. As an added bonus the eBay one had line out also!

Oh, I wish. That would be so much more convenient on my desk. However, I don't think my phone will fit with this Otterbox Commuter case on it.

yeah i have concern about my case too, do you use a case with yours?
Opened up one of these batteries you can find on ebay and Amazon for anywhere between 3 to 6 pounds. I can't remember the exact weight but it was lighter than my stock battery by 15-25%. It's performance was worse than stock by quite a long way (I can usually last 2 days but even after running this battery a couple cycles, I still couldn't last a day on it 0800-1500).
Sticker.

Frame displaced. Holding the plastic spacer which is normally at the bottom. Note also, foam filler on side.

Strange writing. Chaonian, Samsung I9000 and 983. Strange because I9000 is the code for the Samsung Galaxy S.
Overall, this is an all-right battery if you are going to pay only a couple pounds for an emergency battery to keep in a car or wallet (or other hostile environment where you don't care about the health of the battery). It is safe and wont explode.
If you want a proper replacement, go for an Anker (usually only £10) or some of the gold batteries.

I have i9000 one for captivate and though it's not actually 2430mah it's at least 1800mah. Maybe 2000mah, but probably not. So for $8, few day shipping, and external charger it was definitely nice

Batteries aren't meant to be nice to look at but this one is.
PROS:
Same form factor as the OEM battery, no need for a different back cover.
Advertises 5% more milliamp-hours and seems to last at least as long as OEM.
Great price.
CONS:
Like other non-OEM batteries, this one lacks NFC. If you plan to use Google Wallet or Isis, you might find this unacceptable.
If you have OCD, you may also find it difficult to digest that the battery label is upside-down when you put it in your phone.
It's important to understand that this battery is not a crazy 4200mAh monster. You shouldn't be expecting anything incredible. The Galaxy S3 has an amazing stock battery, but if you need an inexpensive replacement or spare, this battery is great. I imagine it would help on long trips without a charger or during hot-swaps when you're plugged in.
I'll write a more thorough review with battery graphs when I have a free moment away from my masters thesis, but this should be fine for now D:
I love them! I got 2 of them with the wall charger... Had them 8 months and going strong.

Does anyone know where I could get a "Rear Housing Back Plate Replacement"? Honestly don't care if its the OEM or not, I tried to reach out the Samsung but the rep couldn't give me a clear answer. I found two places online but they are charging ridiculous price for them considering its a piece of plastic.
Bummer

Both of those honestly. I would expect a piece of plastic to cost closer to $20 or so considering the cases themselves cost around that amount. I got the number to Samsung's repair department. Going to call later and see what prices they can provide me with. Otherwise I can just wait for a broken one to sell on ebay or something.

Thank you, its about the same price with the exchange rate. I will keep looking.
What happened to yours and how bad is the damage?
You could always put this case on and cut off the front part.
