Thanks, I was just looking for this.. I did an update from eclair to froyo (2.1 - 2.2) and everything was fine until I did a hard reset and lost service and it kept crashing each time I would go into the settings and wireless/APN options. Wouldn't take ATT and TM sim cards.. Going to try flashing the SBF and see if this resolves it.
Edit: aaand, flashed and all fixed.
Great find, nice to have an option in case we screw something up. I wonder if there's any benefit to flashing the 2.2 sbf instead of flashing a clean 2.1 and updating to 2.2...
OH I HOPE THIS FIXES MY FREEZING ISSUE!!! Im so sick of having to take out the battery 10 or more times a day when this thing freezes, plus Im sure it does damage as hard shutting down a computer does. Ill let everyone know.
How would I flash the bootloader?

Got it flashed. Same way as you flash a rom. Like you tho, I havent a clue why. I also flashed the rom. Did NOT help with freezing, in fact seems worse now. Cant use my phone for more than 3-4 minutes before it freezes. Any idea who Id contact at Motorola to get assistance with this, because this is ridiculous. Thanks for posting this.

Hey check your SD card. My phone wasn't just freezing....it would completely just reboot and stay on the moto screen. I found out that i was my memory card. When I removed it, it worked fine and when I put it back in, it shut down automatically. Found out the problem was the 2nd partition I to use the link2sd...had to change it so that the 2nd partition was set to primary and its been working fine ever since. Not one single freeze or anything.
Dunno if that is going on with you but if it is I hope this helps
How do I set the second partition as primary? I've noticed also when anything gets linked, it goes to the first partition. First partition mem goes down, whereas second stays the same.

I use something called 'EASEUS Partition Master 8.0.1 Home Edition' that I think I downloaded on google (I don't remember) but you can use it to change create and format partitions and you just gotta make sure you set it to 'primary' and not 'logical'. Try to see if you can find it and do it and let me know. If you can't find it let me know and I'll see if I can send you mine. And if you do and you still have trouble, detail to me what is going on and i'll walk you through it. It took me a lil while to figure it out.
So I could use minitool partition as well? That's the one I have. I will try that out. Phone hasn't froze today for a long time, but now that I said that, well you know. Lol I will keep you updated for sure. Thanks.

Found out why the need for the updated bootloader. Froyo does not support the Eclair version of the bootloader, so if you need to flash again, you would not be able to unless you update the bootloader. HTH
I'm honestly kinda a noob at this... never messed with anything like a bootloader. Can somebody explain to me how to do this? I'm wanting to flash back to a clean 2.2 and the post before mine sounds like that might be bad without updating boot loader first.
Also the rom, just install it with RSD?

You will flash the bootloader the same as the froyo rom in RSD. Do the bootloader first. Then flash the froyo rom. Any questions, don't hesitate.

Phone fully on or update mode or what? For both?
USB Debugging on?
Version of RSD need to be up or still using 4.9?
I'm not 100% of this, as I don't have the MB508 as of the moment, but I believe once you flash the stock 2.2 rom or OTA you will loose root.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, this is just intended for those who want to know info.

When you flash you will need to go into bootloader mode. Power off phone, the use the proper key funtion (sorry don't remember what it is) to start bootloader. Then flash updated bootloader. When flashing via RSD, it doesn't matter about usb debugging because you aren't fully booted into the phone. I used version 4.9 and had no problems flashing both. Good luck.

Yes this is correct. I belive this is the case anytime you flash using RSD. You can gain root again after using the most current version of superoneclick.

Just use this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737848
The LG1 rom is the latest for AT&T G3. The second one in the thread is stock from initial release I believe. Download and flash. Since it's stock, it won't bump your counter. Will lose root though.

Uuuh, those roms are straight from Samsung Kies (their official roms). They are safe. I have used it to ditch root and go back to my stock kernel prior to flashing new custom roms. They are official roms from Samsung. If you want to get them from Samsung directly, install more bloatware on your pc (Kies). Have fun.
I really don't care about a few apps being there (even if I don't use it).. So are u saying that if I install either one of the three (in the green box in the picture) I should be fine? Do u happen to know why they have different numbers in them?

Nope. I got my stock roms from the thread I sent you. Use the thread. Like I said, they are official roms straight from Samsung. It wouldn't be a main sticky on the development forum if it wasn't legit. Or you can just download Kies from the Samsung.com website and use that to flash newer stock roms to your phone. Or you can pull your hair out wondering which one to use until someone who knows their serial scheme to answer it better than I can.. The choice is yours. Chances are, anyone else would just link to that same thread I sent you already anyway. I've used them and they are just fine. I keep the latest stock on my ext_sd for backup just in case, which I downloaded from that thread. Works like a charm every time I have flashed it to go back to stock.
If you are already rooted and just trying to get back to stock to take your phone back for warranty, I also suggest you look into the app Triangle Away. Just do a forum search, it's in the development section. It resets your flash counter to zero. You will want to do that *before* you unroot. Assuming you've already rooted. Since I don't know your situation, I can only offer some suggestions. Hope this all helped.
Hehe.. Thanx for replying so elaborately. I have indeed tried the ROM posted on the thread earlier to go back to stock from CM10. They do wrk fine indeed. I just thought I'd get it from the official Site. That's all. I'm a little new to this but not a uber noob

No worries, everyone here was new to Android and flashing at some point as well. I completely understand you wanting to make sure what you are about to flash to your $500 phone is clean and safe. I have used the roms linked from that thread from the samsung-updates.com website myself with no problems. Anyone else here on XDA will tell you the same thing, they are safe and straight from Samsung Kies.
Question .
I downloaded one of the original stock rom from the link , currently I'm rooted but if i wanted to go back to stock how would I do it?
Flash the file i just downloaded ? How with CWM? Odin? this part is what's confusing me.
Thanks if anyone can explain , I guess I mainly want to know how to go back to stock and how to unroot.
1st Download the Triangle away app and reset ur flash counter if it's not zero already.
2nd Put ur phone in download mode(volume down+home+power button) and use Odin to flash the Stock ROM from your computer.
3rd This should have removed all root from your phone. But do go into settings-> About device->Status->Device status(in ur phone) . If it still shows 'modified', goto recovery menu(volume up+home+power button) and do a factory wipe.
Ur good to go after that.

I did check the 'about device' to see if there is anything that'll help me narrow it down(before you even replied). Yes, it helped me narrow it down to the green box in the picture.
Before you type some random **** like this why dont you check it out on your phone and give a reply. Let me know if you find out anything useful.
At the risk of sounding like an ass, did you look under the battery?

yes i did check under the battery. All it says is SGH-i747.
Only thing left i can think to do would be to call the number listed for further assistance
Edit
Look under your battery again. Notice under the imei barcode. You see 2 letters there? Mine was mb. That might have something to do with it. Might not.

Wow..good catch. I thinks that's it. Its just two letters printed just like that not part of anything else. Mine is RW. Dont know what the difference b/w them are though. Thanks again. :good:
Update:
Called them up. Its all the same...the MB,RW and ZR refers to the different colors.
MB refers to Pebble blue
RW refers to Marble White
and ZR refers to Garnet red.
Please Note: No other method listed in the GN2, GS3 forums work for this particular problem. I, as well as a few others have had this happen when flashing different ROMs. I have no idea what causes it but I do have an idea as to how to fix it. I just can't because what I need seems to be disabled in the phone.
Also, I did make a backup of my EFS and a restore does not fix this particular problem.
Problem #1:
After flashing a ROM, the GN2 is unable to activate the radio/modem. The following read "Unknown" in the "About Phone" menu:
Baseband, Network, Mobile Network Type, MEID, IMEI, ICCID.....etc. Basically anything to do with the mobile network.
Problem #2:
When booted up and running, PC will not recognize the phone as usual (unable to copy files to phone).
Problem #3:
And probably the biggest problem: ADB does not recognize the phone. ADB debugging is enabled on the phone in Developer Options but the icon on the notification button doesn't appear. Nor does ADB recognize the phone in recovery. So therefor I cannot transfer files this way either. "nvbackup/nvrestore" can not be used because of this either.
The following methods have all been tried and have failed. Yes, I know what I am doing,

Uhh.. no offense to anyone, but if we have a rogue ROM that's bricking phones, we need to know in case it's floating around somewhere.
Also, (and again, not to start any negativity, just curious) the general feel of this thread was random bricking from flashing any ROM, which is very scary and cause for alarm. But according to the quoted post I'm gathering now that this is an issue directly related to accidents within a specific ROM?

You cant flash a s3 rom the partitions are different. Even the partitions forbthe international note 2. Tmo. Att. Verizon and sprint note 2 are different.
Try flashing the stock tar from sex tape or viper boy. This should fix those issues. Then update the phones prl. Profile. Software. And firmware. And see if u have 3g and everything else.
Then start over.

Your best bet is to ask in the rom thread. I have yet to flash anything on my P607T other then rooting. It looks like Dev work is very slow for this tablet. So you may not get a 100% working AOSP rom any time soon. Stock rom is really fast and sable once you root and deboat it. That is what I am sticking with for awhile.

Your best bet is to ask in the rom thread. I have yet to flash anything on my P607T other then rooting. It looks like Dev work is very slow for this tablet. I'm looking for ROMs too. But I think I'll stay with stock for now. Any recommendations on what apps to debloat?

Your best way is to just use TB and froze whatever you do not want. If you run into problems just unfroze it. If you uninstall and you run into a bootloop you will need to have the stock Odin firmware ready. here is a link to get the stock odin file.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=29807
I just uninstalled whatever I did not want. If you google What apps are safe to remove on a Note 3 to debloat, it will pretty much be the same as the 10.1. Both the note 3 and the 10.1 are pretty much the same other then screen.
Edit: I got this list from here

Here is a a list for the GS4 which as a lot of the apps we have as well

unlocking bootloader
I think we need to get the bootloader unlocked to get development on this thing rollin'
I'm willing to lend my device to a well-reputed senior-member/developer and pay shipping both ways if they think they can work some magic for the SM-P607T
Should I make a new post with regards to this?
Was able to root using this method no Knox either

bootloader is unlocked and there is no problems getting root and current Twrp can be installed which says the bootloader is unlock. if the bootloader was locked you wouldn't be able to flash Twrp. from the looks of it no one has a p607. it is all 605 or the wifi only one p600 and 601. stock rom with root and debloated works great. try a 605 rom. hopefully CM starts to pick up more then we are set.

Do P605 ROMs even work on a P607T? I've been wondering that myself. I have a 607T and although I am very impressed with the stock ROM it just is never going to measure up to CM for me.
I've been thinking about giving the P605 CM 11 port a try in a few weeks when it's just a bit more stable, but I have no idea how similar they are or if my device would even boot after flashing it!

Anyway to flash the "modem.bin" and "NON-HLOS.bin" flash partitions yet?

Guys... Did you even read that thread in the link?
You should be asking these questions there... That whole thread is dedicated to making calls on the P607T.... And if you read the thread you'll know the author hit a brick wall and a boot loader hack is needed to flash the proper modem files for phone calls.

Reading is Fundamental, amirite? (... sorry, couldn't resist )
But yeah, go there for any updates.

Haha. Thank you kcrudup for pointing to that thread, gave me some useful info on using P605 Roms on a P607T.
Any idea about what sort of problems may pop up from doing this? I got a reply in the CM thread that their P605 version of CM should work fine on my P607 but... Surely it can't be that simple? Any idea what differences there are between thecode of the two tablets or is it really that similar?

I'm 95% sure the only difference physically is the radio "front end" hardware is tuned for the T-Mo LTE frequencies so the modem baseband SW reflects that, and software-wise all that's new is a few pre-installed apps like the "My T-Mobile" app and that (loud-and-annoying-as-hell-and-quickly-removed) T-Mobile "jingle" on startup; I've put several P605 ROMs on my 607T and everything's worked OK ('cause the bootloader won't let me overwrite the radios and potentially-dangerous bootloader files anyway).

Awesome info thanks so much!! So if I understand correctly, any differnces that would render my tablet completely inoperable are already protected from flashing? So I don't need to meet with the TARs for the Roms to remove the modem files or anything?
I mean, I don't mind if my radio breaks or something, I can handle flashing back to stock I am just never sure when I start flashing a new Android device what risks there are of bricking it completely (which, with Knox in the picture, could totally screw me).
So with that I will probably be going flash crazy tonight and tomorrow to test our some different 605 Roms starting with Cyanogen. I'll try to post any findings or quarks here or in those threads!

You will have to remove all the "*.mbn" and "*.bin" files from (Samsung-supplied) non-P607T ROMs, though- Odin will abort the flash if it receives a bad status from the bootloader when the bootloader rejects the flash operation. But it should be a straightforward unzip/rm/zip operation to repack, and I'm sure the CM flashes are just "boot" and "system" (and possibly "recovery") partitions anyway.

so is it necessary to remove the above mentioned files. I can't just flash a p605 rom with twrp?

Yes it is necessary, the .mbn files relate to the bootloader and the .bin files is the modem and NON_HLOS, being that they are for a different ROM it could cause major problems and maybe even bricking. @kcrudup even mentioned the bootloader conflicting with Odin if the device models don't match, so it seems you won't get the 605's installed without removing said files.

I have been looking for a guide for flashing twrp onto my sm-p607t but i cant find one. I mainly need the correct twrp img.tar file for odin. I found this one ( openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-lt03wifiue.img ) but I don't know if it is the right one. I used towelroot to root it and i used the proper supersu to disable knox so i just need the custom recovery now.
Ok so I'm not asking on how to install a rom or anything like that. It's just that I haven't rooted a phone or installed a different rom in so long that I just don't know what's changed. So I just got a LG G4, and I wanted to install Cyanogenmod just because I like the customization options it had back then and I'm sure it's gotten better now (on that note can you still revert to stock roms on phones?). So here's the thing, I just got the phone today, and it's brand new. Now I'm afraid something might go wrong with the phone (other than bricking which would be my fault) and I want to be able to send it in and get it fixed or replaced. I remember a while back there was something you'd installed that it would reset the counter (flash counter?) so it would seem like it was not rooted. Is that still around or anything like that so technically I'm not voiding my warranty just yet?
Why don't you read the forum a little bit more

Currently the only you can do on this phone (unless you have tmobile or international) is root as the bootloader is locked. The only possible roms we'd have are stock modded roms that we can flash the system.imgs for.

I do have T-Mobile., so does that mean I can or can't? So if I understood this correctly, stock modded roms can be used to reset the flash counter or do you mean revert it back to unrooted stock or both?
