i have a question? how to root FW .307?? AND ADD RECOVERY (CWM):highfive:
For unlocked boot loader, use the same way as .253. I flashed doom kernel in fast boot mode and have cwm & root in 1 step :good:.

Hi,
Im back to stock .69 Firmware now and i need Root to use Link2SD.
Can someone help me to root it?
BL is unlocked
Ok, you can close this - i got it !
Post the solution just incase anybody has the same question for the future
I was on .69 and used the actual doomkernel but i didnt flash it i just boot it via fastboot to enter the recovery. i flashed the original rootxperia.zip file from here and it was working.
command: fastboot boot xxxxx.img
Things I have done.
Rooted and installed CWM for Locked Bootloaders
Tried to install a rom but CWM was rubbish and it failed.
Recovered a .45 rom using flashtool.
Rooted and put CWM on again.
Unlocked bootloader using fastboot........
Once device rebooted it gets as far as Xperia logo and reboots, and reboots etc.
I can access recovery but its useless!
Whats my best step to do next??

#Check the status of your bootloader, like if its already Unlocked or Allowed, if its Unlocked then proceed STEP 02 and if not then Unlock the Bootloader First..You can search the thread around here on how to Unlock Bootloader. Dial *#*#7378423#*#* to check your bootloader Status. It will say Bootloader Unlocked : Yes Or Bootloader Unlocked Allowed : Yes or Simply NO.
# ReFlash your firmware with Flashtool & reboot
#Fastboot your desired kernel to get root access..you can fastboot your stock kernel back again if you dont wana use custom kernels. Both ways, u will still have your root access. My advice would be flashing SSpeed Kernel v08 or Advanced Kernel as both are updated kernels of current firmwares and the best CMW obviously!
# Let the kernel set in for some couple of hours
Hope it helped :highfive:
Hello,
I found a lot of threads how I update firmware with locked bootloader & root (14.3.A.0.757) but none with unlocked bootloader.
I asked because OTA I get the error that updating is not possible.
How is this working?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Regards
Michael
I am also looking for answers to this question.
I am the root and you can not download software.

easiest way:
download any 14.3.A.0.757 ftf file and flash it through flashtool (uncheck wipe data)
flash Advance Stock Kernel with Recovery v04 (FW:14.3.A.0.757} by DooMLoRD through flashtool
download then flash latest super user
that is it, now you have new firmware with root and CWM recovery and without losing your data
if you prefer to use [Z1 Compact][TWRP][PhilZ Touch][CWM] XZDualRecovery by [NUT]
just download the latest flashable dual recovery from http://nut.xperia-files.com/
and flash it then flash the kernel from the same ftf you flashed before (meaning exclude everything except kernel)
that is it, you'll have dual recovery
Something to add to omarainea's post: If you want dualrecovery you can just flash [NUT]'s kernel from http://nut.xperia-files.com/ (
Z1C-XZDRKernel2.7.XXX-BETA.flashable.zip (19.22MB)
I cant install recovery in my Xperia S
first, with relocked bootloader, I tried method 1 and 3 of Xperia S Dual Recovery for locked/unlocked bootloaders.
then, with unlocked bootloader, I tried again.
after, I tried TWRP Manager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmz.soft.twrpmanager)
in my last attempt, I tried an old version of CMW that I have in my pc and I successfully used when I first unlocked bootloader in may 2013.
any suggestions??

Which method did you use? (Flashtool or Fastboot)
all of them have their own installer
but now, i try [email protected] kernel with flashtool and I could do!
now, I have recovery working!

I try again with stock ROM and Kernel and I cant install recovery.
I try install TWRP with fastboot (fastboot flash recovery boot.img) and got "<remote: partition not found>" error
if I change kernel to [email protected] I can install recovery.
what I am doing wrong?
Hi, guys thanks to xda I was able to root my phone now I can't seem find a working CWM recovery file to flash it in my device. I've not unlocked my bootloader though so please help me flash cwm recovery on my c1904 15.4.A.1.9 firmware locked bootloader thanks in advance.
Sorry, but it's impossible to install cwm if your phones bootloader is locked.

i did flash a cwm recovery for my device using flashify. But it just simply reboots it doesn't go to recovery mod. & please do something.
On Stock 4.1 i heared about a CWM for locked bl, but never tried it. But on 4.3 it isnt working. Look for the thread in general section.
But a "normal" CWM on locked bl isnt possible, as the bootloader only loads a kernel from Sony, and to boot into cwm on our device we need to detect an event to extract the cwm ramdisk instead of the nornal ramdisk, which is only possible with a modified kernel, which requires an unlocked bl to get loaded.
