Also works on my S3 Mini GT-I8190 I have PowerApm's lockscreen widget enabled and whenever i started walking with my phone in my pocket, the song I'm listening to would just skip or even go to another album, turn on shuffle and such crap Thank you for the useful find, you're awesome!

AT&T S3 4.4.2 tried to disable the wake home button, but editing the gpio.keys file does nothing. Editing sec_keys file totally disables the home button. Help please?

Dumb question, is "Root explorer" an app that lets one do rooted things on a non root
Does this require the phone to be rooted, or is "root explorer" an app that lets one do root things on a non rooted phone?

[Mod][Guide][ICS]How to fully replace S-voice with Google Now voice search

This is simply a tutorial on how to replace Samsung's crappy s-voice with the amazing Google Now voice search!
In order to follow this guide you must be rooted, if you are not and wish to do so, follow the guide here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 If you are already rooted, then continue with the guide!
Step 1: Installing Google Now:
1.)Download the Google now flashable zip here (download the one entitled mikey7 online/offline voice) XDA Google Now Download Thread
2.)Make sure they are on your internal SD card and reboot into recovery
3.)choose install zip file and navigate to wherever the file is (if you are unsure then there is a good chance that it is filed under downloads/mikey7_offline.zip)
4.)once you are done with this, turn your device back on and verify that the app "Google" is in your app drawer
5.)If so then continue with the tutorial, if not then retry and if that does not resolve the issue then post questions in this forum.
Step 2: Activating Google Now
1.)Make sure you have Google latitude installed and have set up your account for latitude before continuing just to be safe.
2.)Launch the Google Now app and go through the setup until you click the "Yes, I'm in." option and your cards appear
3.)Continue to the next and final step or, if you are happy with not being able to launch Now via double tapping the home button, stop here and have a nice day!
Step 3: Replacing S-Voice
1.)Go into S-voice settings and uncheck the option "Launch S-Voice"
2.)Download a free app from the market called "home2 shortcut" (or link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut ..)
3.)Set the double tap home option (Home> Home) to launch "Voice Search" from installed applications. (make sure it displays a blue microphone when you do this)
4.)Continue with the instructions for the app and close the app.
5.)Test it out, if it doesn't launch directly into the voice search after doing the double home then follow the next few steps, if it does then skip to step 8.
6.)Open the Google Now app (it will be listed as "Google" in your app drawer)
7.)Press menu>refresh.
8.)Reboot
9.)Enjoy having Google Now on your Ice cream sandwich Samsung Galaxy S3!
Don't Forget to hit the thanks button if this helped you!
Credits go to:

Thanks for this...is there a way to set this up so that a single press while in my launcher (Nova Launcher) returns to the default screen? Single presses in the launcher do not currently do anything.

You maybe can go into gestures settings in nova and set up the double tap for voice search in nova. However, you may have to triple press. This was actually my work around for a small time. You may have to buy the premium nova in order to use gestures though. Hope this works!

the manual search is working perfectlly on my tab 10.1 running 4.0.4.
but the voice function is not. the message of "shell has been granted in su perm" kept appering for tens of times. then the app get forced to close.
thanks for the great effort...

Clipboard

Is there anyway to clear the clipboard on the Galaxy S 3? I am no longer able to copy and paste and everytime I try to on the stock internet browser or Google Chrome it crashes. I read online the crash is due to the clipboard being full but I'm unable to find out exactly how to clear it.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
If you hold the mic button down on the stock Samsung keyboard a pop-up will come up with choices, one of those choices is your past saved clipboard. You can delete them by holding down on each one and hit delete.
Good Luck

I have not rooted mine yet and I also use Swiftkey 3. I cleared my clipboard by holding down the mic on the stock Samsung keyboard and several possibilities popped up and one was the clipboard and clipboard history. I simply long pressed on each clipboard I wanted to delete and hit delete. It worked just as I described. Maybe you didn't click the proper pop up. Could you see the past clipboards you had used? I had about 5 I think that I deleted.
Good Luck,

Nope I couldn't see the past ones, but I did follow it step by step like he said. I did find out that that the GS3 has a bug when it comes to the clipboard and a ton of people could not delete it unless the rooted and did it through root explorer. Im happy now, the clipboard is clear, im rooted and I can always use root explorer to fix the problem if it happens again.

YOUTUBE VIDEO TO COME SOON SPREAD THIS AROUND.
You don't have to type everything in caps, it hurts the eye, not to mention it's bad manners online. And there are many Google Wallet threads around..
In the build.prop you could just change ro.product.device from toro to takju and download it from the market. Much easier IMO.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Or you could just download and install the .apk without going through all of this hassle.
Stock, unrooted, and GW works just fine on my VZW GNex. The more you manipulate, the more likely you are to break something. And yeah, don't type in all caps. Bad form.

Yes sir I will gladly explain step 6. In this step we need to obtain root access of your phones files. As you can see when you open the es filer explorer in the drop down bar above your phone it has " /sdcard/ " this means that you can only access the files in you SD card. By changing from "/sdcard/" to " / " you can obtain the system files which is leads you to the app files and change the properties settings of the Google wallet app. If it doesn't if it doesn't allow you to gain access to the the "/" or root folders type in the Google search bar " how to gain root access in es file explorer" I believe there is a YouTube video that shows you how its bad quality but its good enough to get what you need done. If you have more questions please fill free to ask.

I followed at the steps suggested and when I rebooted there was no google wallet in the apps drawer, I had to go to the app folder to open it and once I installed to would not let me open it
It's frozen, that's why................
Unfreeze it using Titanium Backup, run marketenabler and open Google Wallet.
What's the point anyway, it's not supported in Canada, Google Prepaid is discontinued and you can't add your credit cards and use it from Google Wallet..
I've had it working in Canada 3 days ago and many times before that . It works with my nexus s I gave to my wife. It works the only problem is that it says adding card failed. That's not a Canadian problem loads of people are having that problem in USA too.

[HOW TO] Turn Your M Into a BEAST! (Wifi Tether, apps2sd, Full Screen, Ect.)

I have decided to make a post with everything that I have done to my M to solve some of the issues I and many others I have found had with it.
I suggest you root your phone to get the full benefits of it and these modifications: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940630
How to unlock your bootloader: http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2013/04/08/motorola-bootloader-unlocking/
1. Run and function in full screen mode (No Nav Bar) (UPDATED!)
Easy way:
Download full!screen from the app market by tsorn, what makes this aspp so great is that you can set it to turn full screen on only when selected apps are running then you can optionaly set function keys to be placed in the corners for things like a back button, home, or menu, its really great!you can even set the size and opacity of the buttons, as well as location!, this app has made my razsr all i dreamed it would be!
Harder way:
This will require a app called HideBar (shocker..) found on the market it allows you to either use widgets or a system notification to hide/unhide the system bar at the bottom of the screen with multiple options on showing it again, to control your phone without your system bar I use LMT ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150 ) it allows you to control your phone (Back, Home, Search, Menu) with gestures, Input number is 5, please follow the directions in the post, there are others apps that do this as well, all with differnt features, look around. This is great to play games in full screen.
2. Wifi Tether
Follow this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981625
3. Moving Apps 2 SD
This is somewhat a PIA until you get the hang of it but can be done using a app called Directory Bind, Official Thread: ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262 ) discussion on using it with the M here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1913576
There is a easier way to do this if you just want to move large games over 1gb look for gl2sd in the market I tested it on my M and it works fine.
4. Notification Toggle widgets.
This is done using a great app with a amazingly helpful dev called "Notification Toggle" which can be found in the market, it supports all the great Cyanogen Like Toggles that we all love, works better if installed a system app which is really easy!~ just follow the help link in the app to see how he gives multiple examples. This is very customizable sp? from widget button styles to colors and more!
5. Fully working Android 4.2 KB with Trace!(Think Swype.)
I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD! Uses trace like swype and swiftkey, but IMO much much better, less memory, way more accurate and a cool preview function as you "swype". thread found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964663
If you have any other great improvments you would like to share post them and I will add them to the list!
Thank you!, Hope this helps some of you enjoy your M a little more then you do.
P.S. Feel free to pm me if you need help finding or getting hold of any of apps! however if you Google "Aptoide" I think you will manage getting everything you need to set up your phone very, very, cheaply.
I take no credit for any of the information provided, this is simply a consolidation of information i found useful to modifying the overall enjoyment of my phone.
Gonna give that Notification Toggles widget a shot thanks!

Welcome, its great I changed my background to match the color of the drop down and it looks built in, ill post a screen later.
Also added #5 the android 4.2 Keyboard!
so for the 4.2 keyboard do you just switch apk's or is there some other method to installing it from the "4.2 mod package"?
edit: seeing the stock rom is odexed I'm guessing you just install the apk instead of replacing the stock one?

For full screen you should try full!screen by tsorn It's been working for me. I have been using the free version. The paid version you are supposed to be able to setup full screen for only the apps you want full screen when they are run.
Thank as for the tip ill check it out now sounds more of what I want anyway
Found the app will add it to the post when I get to the PC its a really great app thanks for the heads up

LOL thank you...also it doesn't seem to bind the actual app to the SD card, just the extra data....so it intrinsically only solves like 30% of the problem....

This is the first thing I've ever done to customize my android. I got the idea after looking at Bleached45's posts as well as just generally being disgusted with the default options. This pack does not include extra conversation skins, it replaces the stock conversation skins. So be sure to keep a backup of your old LGUSMms.apk incase you want to go back.
INSTRUCTIONS
I shall not be held liable for any damage you do to your phone. I made these conversation skins for myself and I am sharing them as a courtesy to the forum that gave me the knowledge and means to create them. Back your stuff up and all that common sense rhetoric every disclaimer feeds you.
1.) Kill your messenger via stop process.
2.) Use a root browser with all permissions and go to your root directory>system>app, cut your LGUSMms.apk to a safe location
3.) Paste the apk you downloaded from my link into root>system>app and then change permissions to rw-r--r--
4.) Reboot phone
5.) I don't know if it's just my phone or the ES file browser I'm using, but it would sometimes take me several tries to successfully paste this into the apps folder. I went through some disconnecting from media sync and just the old "click this thing in there as many times and ways as possible until it works." - and it works eventually.
What would happen if I just replace this one with the one that comes with the phone?

I'm not quite sure I follow you. Could you elaborate?

divide by 0 and you should be set lol. are you saying to just not save youre old one? you could do that but if something goes wrong you wouldnt have a back and would have to ask someone to pull it from their phone. it more for safety then it is a necessity.
That's true. Well I followed your instructions and everything works fine. Thanks for the skins!

The one with tree is just beautiful! Thanks!
This works great . And my phone is just rooted too
thanks for the skins! The only thing is i got confused on the path you posted, it should be:
Use a root browser with all permissions and go to your root directory>system>app, cut your LGUSMms.apk to a safe location
Paste the apk you downloaded from my link into root>system>app and then change permissions to rw-r--r--
and not "apps" Other than that worked like a charm!
