Hello I was searching for this topic but I didn't find anything.
I have a SIP account and I succeed configure in my DHD using LeeDroid Kernel/ROM.
Now the question is: Is possible remove the restriction for the SIP call "only in WiFi" becuase I have highspeed & Unlimited mobile connection, but I can not find how to hack or remove that limitation, I will really appreciate any help.
Thanks
Hi,
I would like to refresh this thread and ask again:
Is possible remove the restriction for the SIP call "only in WiFi" so that I can also use SIP when connected to 3G?
Thanks in advance
Try sipdroid... It works best for me...

try this , dunno if it works on your ROM but with ARHD 5.x.x by mike1986 it works,
find it in the 2nd post , addons section ,
called "Enable SiP over 3G network for Android Revolution HD"
hope this helps
i use Bria for Android. Excellent app though paid but lots of advanced features.
Thanks, but I was looking for something that does not require an extra app.
But might be giving it a try anyways.
Thanks again.

Thank you!
Ilan
for some reason Desire has this feature for a long time already (i own both Desire and DHD)
i was really surprised that DHD does not have sip over 2-3G. looking forward to get this feature!
I made a small manual on how to accomplish this on probably all GB roms including sense and miui:

great, will try with my MIUI rom, already updated the apk...
UPD: everything is working fine! thanks a lot for the howto!
Good evening Devs,
I have a small problem with tasker:
I can't activate the option for switching between 2G/3G Network....
So i rooted my Nexus and flashed a custom rom (Android REvolution) but it's still not available.
Is there a trick to activate it or do i need an init.d script, i don't know a lot about scripts for android but i will lern it if it's necessary
I apologize myself for my grammar errors
Just tested making a tasker script. Seems to be working.
Add profile - event - screen off
Add task - wait 10 minutes
Add task - mobile data 2g/3g - 2g only
You can add a similar task to turn 3g back on again (or make exit task function).
Swyped on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
Nope sorry, it doesn't work..... tried this routine myself to often^^
On XDA is a thread with an Script that makes this possible, but you must flash it etc. and i don't want to flash this.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739530
So can't i make a script which switches between 2G and 3G?
Or is it absolutly impossible.... and that is what i'm reading the hole time
Juice Defender?
Juice Defender DISABLES the Network, but thats not what i want^^
I believe there is a 2G option? Haven't used it in a while though, could be wrong.
"Long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to light."
The tasker script I mentioned earlier works for me.
Swyped on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
Lots of roms have a "Power Savings" feature which can be configured to do this.

This should be working because it's working on my N1. I'm using a custom ics rom.
Not working for me
Task -> Net -> *Mobile Data 2G/3G , when selected a TOAST appears saying "Sorry, that action is unavailable on your device"
Rooted, stock 4.1.1...anyone know a fix?
Try AOKP
AOKP has this option and works well for me....AOKP M5.
Maybe tasker isn't updated for JB yet?
Or Google has made the security around switching harder (like they did with gps).

Same here, I'm still running stock 4.1.1, I'm wondering if CM9 or ICS AOKP fix that missing feature of the stock rom.
Does CM10 / AOKP JB preview fix it also?
I'm just wondering, in case someone already knows about it.
If not, I guess I'll have to test myself and report.
I really miss that feature, I actually bought Tasker like a week before buying my Galaxy Nexus, I bought it for using that feature on my previous phone, and it's disappointing that stock JB would not provide this setting...

Well, this post is quite old and I've changed numerous ROMs till then. This was the feature in AOKP m5 then, but not sure whether it exists in AOKP builds of 4.2.2.....also I am using CM right now and haven't flashed AOKP for a while so I can't assist you on where to find 2G/3G auto toggle. Not sure even it does exist or not.
Ah no worries. Have read that when 3g signal is good it is actually better to have 3g on as it has low power states. Thanks though.
Look for a Cataclysm ROM, it has that option

A while ago, I downloaded a nandroid someone posted from their T-Mobile Galaxy Note II to see if I could pick it apart for wi-fi calling, but I don't use it so I can't really test it and I lost interest. Now, I've packaged up the Wifi Calling app with all of the libs it came with and added in the build.prop from the zip. It might be a lot more than what is needed, but I don't want to have to keep uploading bits and pieces. If you think you have an idea of what you're doing and want to try it out, go for it. I don't really know much about wi-fi calling at all so unless you have some sort of logcat, I'll be of little to no use to you at all. I guess that's about it...
You can use the ics wi-fi calling package to help you out by possibly using it as a reference/using parts/etc.
FOUND HERE
And here is what I've extracted from that 1GB+ package.
CLICK ME
Let us know what you find and good luck
If you feel you might need more files from the original nandroid just let me know.
Nice!
Rooted/OC'd/SynX
nice work will try ,Thanks
Please don't hate but would this work on a sense based rom?

Hm... by the looks of it, it would seem that these are only settings for Wi-Fi calling. So it would seem that you'd have to mod the settings apk to have the option for WiFi calling settings. :/ I'll look into elgins (CM10) source sometime to see if I can add it in. If I can at least get the app starting somewhere, it will be easier for everyone else to debug/fix it up. If anyone has messed with the note 2 and can confirm that WiFi calling is accessed via settings and not launcher (app) that would be helpful as well.

This is gr8 news !Hopefiully someone can get going on this ,it can benefit not just the Glacier, but other devices as well that already have a fully working JB minus wifi calling.
From what I have seen and read on my HTC One S it is built into the frame work on JB so way above what I know good luck.
im gonna look into this and see what i can do

I'm thinking the setting could be added in way that is similar to this:
https://github.com/SyNtheticNightma...mmit/bfac7c05daab9f6294f7419ea6173c4a1c569092
Though I don't know the exact name of the package for the wi-fi calling settings... I'd need to decompile it to find that out (unless you know another way, I'm not too familiar with apks). I could also try whipping up an icon for this if you need one.
have you looked at this at all? http://code.google.com/p/the-ims-open-source-project-for-android/

i saw it a while back, but have yet to try implementing into into a build or anything.
i compared this to ics wifi calling zip and none of the libs from ics zip is in the jb zip

Sorry for a late reply (haven't had the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-T889) so long...
Wifi Calling settings are located under Settings / More settings /
And includes two items: Wi-Fi Calling (this is to enable/disable with a check box), and, Wi-Fi Calling Settings (This offers Connection Preferences [Wi-Fi Preferred / Wi-Fi Only / Cellular Preferred}, and, Help)
For reference, the above menu structure/selections are based on Stock F/W 4.1.1, Build Number JRO03C.T889UVALL4
Is this still a work in progress or has it died?
it sure died.. adding wifi calling to JB has been a task for over a year..no dev has been able ot make this work...so sad.

Hi guys, I'm not getting any notifications when receiving a text message on my newly flashed miui rom (or any other ROM I flash). I've scoured the internet, forums, miui site, Google...
I've: completely wiped my phone clean.
SD card format.
Redownloaded the roms.
I'm not sure what else to do...
if anyone has had a similar problem, or have found a solution, please post it for me, i'd really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for taking time to read this; any help would be appreciated!
Also, if anyone uses MIUI roms, i'd love to hear how it has worked out for you on the EVO 4G, as my past experiences have been rocky with this rom. I've tried countless versions, but always come up with some sort of error... although, it is my favorite in terms of customization!

MIUI v4 and GO SMS 4.72 -- also no notification (no icon in status bar, no sound). Googled this issue and found...
Solution: open default MIUI SMS App, go to Settings / Other and UNtick: System mms app priority.
After unticking this setting: all GO SMS notifications (icon in statusbar, sound, popup) are working!!!
Hoping that this helps in your case too! :fingers-crossed:

Thanks a lot man for the reply. I flashed a new rom but i'll reflash MIUI to verify it works for me as well! I'll repost when i've tried it to let you know how it goes. Thanks again!
EDIT: Ok, I flashed MIUI v4 again, unclicked mms app priority, and the problem is still persistant. also, I flashed Evervolv 4.2.1 and now im getting the SAME ERROR MESSAGE as i was getting with MIUI!!! what the hell is going on? anyone?
AW: [Q]MIUI12.28 No SMS notification&FC's. Have logcat
Weird! Sorry to hear that it doesn't work for you...
Btw, I never got a error/fc-popup, my only issue was that the notifications did not work.
Really hoping that some of the advanced members or Rom chiefs here can help you!
Re: [Q]MIUI12.28 No SMS notification&FC's. Have logcat
For sure me too! What's even more strange is now I'm getting the FC even after doing a full wipe, even sd card and ext... then flashing completely different ROMs.... I'm not sure what im missing... I've even redownloaded the ROMs to be sure they weren't bad downloads...

I recently upgraded my Xperia Play version to 4.0.4 using Trueancestor's ICS ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2210559
and LuPuS's kernel from here:

I don't know so much about all this so I sticked to a youtube video that shows how to do that:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JqAPQHRxRY
Since I upgraded to that version my 3G isn't working when I'm on wifi everything works fine but when not on wifi nothing works like Google Store, Dolphin Browser, Sync etc...
(Although Maxthon browser and Whatsapp works fine so its probably not my network connection)
Maybe I did something wrong?
As I said I don't know much about kernels, ROMs and stuff so it might be a stupid problem
and easy words please..
Thanks in advance to all helpers!
