[Q] Volume booster for KF on jellybean? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone found a good app to boost the volume on the kindle fire with jellybean installed? I've tried a few apps and none have any impact. I know jellybean fixed the flaw these apps were exploiting. Is there any way to boost the sound on jellybean on the KF?

Try volume +

I tried that one made absolutely no impact.

any if not all of the jellybean roms are running some form of hashcode's kernel. he recently just put new drivers for the speakers in and mine are pretty loud half way. maybe factory reset and update your rom if needed
which rom are you using?

I'm on the stock 4.2.2 rom from february, put it on and had no issues. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2041694 Verizon just released a streaming live TV app so sound is only just now something I care about to be honest.
I like everything just how it is I just would like more volume, if there's an updated stock rom I'd like to put that one for sure.

USB Host works OOTB for devices (keyboard, mice, etc..). Stickmount app to connect USB flash drives.
i'll see, i still have to update, but the ota is already available *_*
EDIT: if i'll hard reset the phone, i'll go back to the 4.0.1? or remain with a perfect clean 4.0.2?
If you hard reset/factory reset you will have a perfect clean 4.0.2. You would have to manually flash the 4.0.1 firmware in order to go back.

lag? As the new 4.0.2 is laggy (slower) compare to 4.0.1?

I installed this 4.0.2 update of about 8.8MB without any problem but the GNexus now seems much more laggy in the UI transition effect , is it true or it is my wrong impression only?
While i was reading an email with a lot of attachments i had a freeze of system and the phone rebooted again.
Maybe it is helpful to hardreset to have a clean 4.0.2?
Now in the application i see much more FREE RAM , the total available ram is 695 and i have 350 free ram instead of 240.
It is true on most devices. Some devs are speculating the CPU governor has been changed creating the lag. This however has apparently been fixed in 4.0.3 and its performance is much much better than 4.0.2 and 4.0.1
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
ok thank you for your answer, but it is possibile to change cpu governor setting without use a custom rom based on 4.0.3.
So why Google release this version if has this bug and not directly the 4.0.3?

Got 4.0.2 this am, seems OK, although I needed to re-boot home router to get WiFi working..
Yep, i can confirm some lag after the 4.0.2 OTA
As I posted in the other 4.0.2 OTA thread:
4.0.2 is a bit of a disaster. I think the QA team went on holidays early with this release. It does look like 4.0.3 is much better though and its going to be the default ICS build for hardware manufacturers. So I can only assume Google is working hard to make sure the next release is very solid

Big difference with 4.0.3 and speed. My LTE came with 4.0.2 so it was slow out of the box. After a week I jumped ship and went with 4.0.3 and never looked back.
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus CM9
Asus Transformer Revolver
For me, 4.0.2 did bring these improvements over 4.0.1:
- 5 GHz WiFi works (before, it wouldn't connect to the Access Point at all)
- Social Widget (the one showing the last google+ status update) works instead of doing an exception
- incoming calls are properly mapped to their contacts. It would just show the number on some cases before (really annoying)
- less reboots
If you check the changelogs between 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 on AOSP there are a *lot* of fixes. I'm surprised 4.0.1 booted at all
Anyone have access to that changelog? Please if you can paste here
Thanks.

I don't know about you guys, but I've only seen improvements with 4.0.2. I did notice a few changes though:
1. Pressing the multitasking button in the camera app actually works (in 1 it would show up and then immediately disappear
2. Pressing the multitasking button works immediately, no matter how many apps you're running.
3. Holding down the camera button no longer focuses
4. Scrolling through the widget drawer lags even more
So far some good some bad. I haven't used it long enough to notice anything else though.
Anyone get hands on download link for this latest update roll? I'd like to compare if its the same update previous people receive (md5 wise only)

Questions about Samsung t989

I have a samsung Galaxy SII t989 with the latest beats audio mod. Is it normal for poweramp to not display the option to enable Beats and SRS? It also seems like it cuts off beats sometimes but when i exit the app and open it again it works perfectly fine.
Also, unrelated to this, I'm kind of on edge with the ICS roms on whether or not to flash them. How safe is it for me to flash them or should i wait for the official release? Will my apps still be installed if i flash the ICS Roms? I've mistakenly flashed the International SII rom once and had to exchange the phone whoops.
The ics roms are incredible. I'm using tdj's beta 7.01.
Use titanium backup or my backup pro to backup your apps.
You don't want official ics. At the very least you want a rooted version.

thanks for the reply. I was deciding between Darkside and Juggernaut, i don't know which one is better though. It seems the most popular is darkside. I might try out darkside once i gain a little bit more knowledge on the SII. I don't want to brick a $500 phone
EDIT: I just updated to the LDE software and now i can't install apps. It tells me it is out of space but i check and there is still 1.6 gb free. I tried moving apps to the SD Card but that didn't work either. I tested with titanium backup and poweramp. They both won't install.
EDIT2: It seems lucky patcher had an extra ODEX that wouldn't let me install anything. Problem solved. Now to solve the beats problem

Guys i really don't have time to be working on a rom that i don't even have a device for. Im so sorry guys, i would love to continue my work here but i think its time for me to move to the Nexus 7, if you have a Nexus 7 you can find my latest rom over there. I will leave glazed ICS and Simple CM9 open, but i no longer will be supporting them. This rom is DEAD.
Just like Google Chrome Says

Awesome looking good. I thought you were going to stop doing roms for the kindle. I'm happy your still going to make Roms!!
gapps included I assume from the filesize?
Very happy to see you release this. Downloading and flashing now

Good news, can't wait to flash this to my KF!
Nice ROM, but the recent apps list button makes everything but the power, home, and back buttons unresponsive.
I have that problem, too. That is the only problem besides anything else. But everything else is top notch!

Glazed mods is asking for a password. Did I miss something? Otherwise running VERY smooth. Thanks.

Had a few problems. Did full wipe, install with default launcher.
System very sluggish. Changing to tablet UI freezes system with the phone UI navigation about 4/5ths of the way IP the screen. Hard reboot, tablet UI now active.
Antutu benchmark 5000+ before any apps restored, system still sluggish though. System freezes a few times once gmail sync begins, hard reboots required. Noticed a few other issues, but have forgotten them, had to restore to eyecandy JB to keep.things running. Will definitely keep trying each new build.
Thanks

Great installer! It gives more flexibility and stability, as you don't have to mess around with mods after.
I installed over the Glazed ICS.
All was good until I tried to hide the statusbar by swiping, as I had this setting put in ICS. The disappeared statusbar and shortly after that KF just froze.
Tried a few times, but still wasn't able to go to settings and make changes as it kept freezing after hiding statusbar this way.
Even after clean install hiding statusbar FC-es the system UI.
Another strange bug, that is common to all JB ROMs is that Button Savior is not working. Why that?
Antutu gave me 5180, so its still to work to get the same performance as ICS, just as the battery drain. Hope to see this soon.
Great beta! Waiting for next update!
Yeah i realize there are many problems that need to be fixed, thats why its a beta, twa_priv is updating his rom that i use as a base and next update i will release a newer beta 0.2. Hope that can solve more issues in the future.

Toggling the status bar using edge swipe works perfectly fine in my 20120719-0403 build - which is the build you took as a base.
The rom is very good
I like your rom little while ago 4.04rom full screen to see the movie would like to close the return key and the main page will disappear, and 4.11 this new rom will change, there is hope for energy saving ina under the point of effort!

Could you please repeat this in English?
Rom just got updated
I added Stock KF option in Aroma, it still needs testing but if you choose it, you will get the stock launcher with video and all that other stuff. Anyone who tests it please report back with results,
I did a full wipe and installed the kf launcher but the browser and Amazon video both constantly fc
but other than that very smooth

I have a suggestion, cut you put a option on AROMA for Google Now? I really want to use it, but still keep the ROM.
Thanks.

[Q] In-line headphone controls not working on LiquidSmooth-JellyBean v2.0 RC5

I'm running RC5 LiquidSmooth and noticed that my in-line headphone controls no longer work as they did with RC3. The microphone still works and I've checked that it isn't a short and tried other headphones with no luck. I checked the Verizon GSIII forums and they seem to also be having this problem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=84392068). Is there any way to manually enable them by editing any system files like Generic.kl or anything of the sort or is it something that would likely have to be updated with a new version release?
Prob something like a lib file was changed or removed between versions. Just guessing though, not too familiar with the rom.

[Q] No apps after updating to jellybam, suggestions?

I recently upgraded to jellybam and noticed it was missing almost everything that I
needed to function with on a day to day basis and this is okay, except for some things.
I already looked allover XDA about this and noticed there really is not much on the topic
so I feel help is needed at this point.
What I am wondering the most is where is the video player...?
Also, the camera layout on jellybean sucks, is there anyway to change this?
Any help is appreciated!! Thank you
Well i guess the rom comes with lesser apps than a rom would from the factory. As for a video player i have super video and i'm sure theres a few other good ones. About the camera layout, i don't think you can change that.
Edit: And i am also running jellybam.
Did you update to a custom rom, or did you update through kies. Either way, when you updated you could have restored your phone through google and all your apps shoudl have re-downloaded onto your phone. if thats not the case, open up your play store, hit the menu button, and tap on my apps. after that you'll see a list of all the apps you've downloaded and you can re-download them.
as far as the camera on jellybean not being great, you could always flash a different camera onto your phone if you are rooted. 4.2 camera is super nice.
and i just started using MX player and its pretty nice. Free and has a lot of codecs.
In a lot of Roms you have to reflash "gapps" search XDA for latest version. It is all the Google apps.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
The jellybam rom comes with gapps i think he's talking about some samsung native apps.
If you updated to a stock firmware you should get the GAPPS automatically now if you install a 3rd party ROM like AOKP or CyanogenMod you have to install GAPPS manually just Google it you can find lots of information on it online
