Somewhere along me flashing differnet ROMs on my sprint note 2 (after I did odin back to stock mc2 and re-rooted the build changed from mc2 to lJ1....question is should I reflash stock rom and start over or whats the difference?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Take a screenshot of your about phone section. Having different number though doesnt necessarily mean there will be a problem. For instance I am on an ma7 rom and have an mc2 baseband. Everything is working fine.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Here it is...its stayed LJ1 from synergy to this one
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Do you remember the base stock rom that was used for 1.5.2? Because the last update was ma5. If everything is working for you then there is no problem. Although that base is old. You can always use one of the zips to update your firmware. Or if you want to get up to date you can use the firmware files or odin a stock rom then flash a new rom. Basically if it isnt broken dont fix it.

Did you make a backup of your stock rom? If so.. Restore it. If not, either Odin back to stock with one of the Odin packages in the development section, or find a tw rom you like and flash it.

No, those are otas which patch existing builds. If it says UVALH2-UVALJ4 then you have to be fully stock H2 to use it. If youre sendiing the phone back you want to Odin flash one of the official builds, not the root66 ones. Also triangle away first in case your counters been tripped.

You sure MB1 is 4.1.1? I thought MB1 was 4.1.2. I flashed an older CleanBean ROM that's MB1 and it says 4.1.2.

I'm sorry for not understanding, but is this .zip archive used to restore a Sprint galaxy s3 phone back to completely stock everything?
Recovery, android software and modem version?
If I have 4.3, will the 4.3 .zip restore everything back to stock again?

For that you should use a full 4.3 .tar file, OTA are only the patches not a full OS.

I see.
Could you point me in the right thread for that? Is there even a stock 4.3 .tar file available yet? I was thinking there wasn't since 4.3 rolled out recently for the Sprint galaxy s3

As of the day I am posting this (May 28th, 2013) I have a software update available. I am on mc2 running the stock deodexed ma7 rom by t3project (sorry if I got the name wrong).
Should I go through with this software update or let it sit until I found out some more information? If I do go through with it there is no way of bricking my phone or anything if I am on a stock rom, correct?
Never software update while on any rooted rom, stock or not. It will most likelybrick your note. Your best bet is to see if your rom developer creates a new rom around this update. If not stay with what you have. There are Mods to disable software update notifications if you want them.

The mc2 deox would not boot even though I am on mc2, neither would the nowiz aosp or mundo hackz rom. It really ticked me off, until I found out ma7 roms work on mc2.
Accept the update. You will reboot into recovery. Then just reboot. It wont do anything and you wont get the notification anymore.

Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding. Are you saying I should flash a JB modem (I'm using FL24 on my current AOSP rom) in recovery first, and then mobile odin back to stock GB27?
If so, what files would I need? I couldn't find a version of GB27 that wasn't a one-click.exe
On rwilcos site look for the tar version of the gb27 stock rom. Download it. Look for the .zip version of the modem. If you are using the pro version of mobile odin (which you should, its an awesome app and makes it easier if you buy pro) open it before doing anything else. It needs to download your flash kernel and some files. Now go Flash the modem first in cwm. Then reboot. You wont have data at this point. Because you are still on aosp. Now go to mobile odin. Then flash the gb27 tar version.

Is it possible, or will this just brick the phone?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
If you took the OTA to 4.3 you cannot use Odin to go back to previous versions. You can root and flash any version you want, as long as you aren't trying to go backwards with the bootloader, aka mk3 bootloader > md4, etc.
As metalfN78 said, yes it will brick your phone If you use Odin. You can flash ANY version through recovery though.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Damn, I didn't accept the ota on my s3, but my wife did
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
You can still flash previous versions of Android on hers, just not with Odin. As long as you are using a custom recovery and flash roms then it is alright.
But won't custom recovery/rooting trip the Knox warranty bit?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Yea
Oh well, that'll teach her to not accept ota updates unless she checks with me first
