I'm really enthusiate to make my own custom ROM but I actually know nothing about that ? Anyone who can put me on the way ?

Go to www.xda-developers.com and browse through the articles. Look for xda university or something similar, where you will find how to build custom ROMs.
Or Google is your friend, make a little search... well I did that for you, you can start with this article: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/xda-university-building-your-own-android-rom/

I need to know how to use the tools mentioned and maybe some steps for porting. Modification of apk, jar, .xml, .so files are a must when porting,i just don't know how. Can someone please let me know, even if you want to pm then please do so. Thanks. Oh, afa what device I'd be porting from, not sure. Maybe from the desire or n1.

Maybe a Rom kitchen will help. I don't have much experience in this area.
It's no bother to people, I misread. rom kitchen sounds about right. you could always just try and theme the ROM you like..
Thanks for the response. What I really need is to know how to use the tools I mentioned. I have a basic overall knowledge of porting but am unsure of how to use the tools

ROM advice for 510c on Virgin Mobile

Hello Everyone!
I'm not new to XDA, but I'm new to this subset of it. I am trying to help out a relative who wants his phone to be faster, smoother, and achieve better battery life if possible. Of course some room to actually install apps wouldn't hurt either.
Which ROMs are okay for the Virgin Mobile version of the Wildfire, and any recommendations on the best one? I'm not new to flashing, so just a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!

well if its one of those set it and forget it type situations, you should download goo manager from the play store, browse compatible ROMs and get team blue ridge, flash an overclockable kernel if you think they might need one, and try the int2ext script which is great for low memory problems. if you need help finding the recourses I can do a quick search, but they're all around the wfs section somewhere.

So it's been over 2 years.....

So it's been over two years that I've been part of this great community but I have never tried to make a ROM for any phone. So today I decided to make a ROM for this phone, but I don't know where to start from. I have a windows 8 pc so I don't even know if that's a good system to make ROMs but I want to give it a try. I also want to theme it a certain way that I think everyone would enjoy so if anyone is willing to give me a little bit of their time to guide me into building a ROM, I would gladly appreciate it. Thank you

yea i know that but i just need to know what exactly do i need
Start by theming a few apps or the like . There are endless possibilities with systemui too . The problem with using kitchen, vts etc is that you wouldn't really know whats happening behind the scenes so i'd recommend learning to do stuff manually first . the win8 system shouldn't be a problem unless until you set out to build kernels or aftermarket roms like c from source

[q] navbar on sammy roms

Hi to all. I tried to search everywhere all over the network. I found something but not really concerned to what I would have.
So, I explane my question:
I have enabled the soft keys modifying the build.prop. I have write the command: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 and wow the navbar was shown after a reboot.
No problems and no issue. Now my desire is to change the color of these buttons. But its possible on AOSP AOKP roms like CM 10 and I have not found anythings regarding sammy roms.
If someone could help me to know how can I change it or explane me if it is possible or not I give my thanks.
Anyone can help me?

Try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.janis605.softkeyz
It requires root and busybox. It could work on sammy roms...

You will have to create your own I believe cuz there's nothing for Note 2...
Will one of the xposed apps work? If not I'm sure you could get a few pointers to put you in the right track

[Q] How do I get all apps for Multi Tasking on build MC2

I apologize if this question is already been asked, what I'm asking to see if anyone has has found a way to get all apps for multitasking for the build number mc2. I have already Google searched plus I already made a search here on XDA and still found nothing. I will be highly appreciative if someone could help direct me in the right direction with a link on how and what to download to do it. I am also running a stock rom Odexed. Thank you in advance!!!
I was able to get this (along with several other mods) using xposed

What's that? I kinda wanna stay on the same ROM if that's possible.
I went back to Google and searched again, this is what I found:
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/how-to-hack-apps-into-multi-window-mode-on-galaxy-note-2-50011004/
I'll report back later to say if it works or not.
Yep. I just used the xda threads, but that looks the same process.
Im also on stock rooted and have used xposed to implement several mods. Great tool!
