hi guys
how are you ?

......................................................
i have problems with kfu i cant connect kindle fire to my computer i suppose i have a wrong cable cause i am have Nokia cable and using it to connect it,
i want to install android on it,so i have a wrong cable and i don't know where i can buy from my country .
i am asking if i can root it and install android with wifi file transfer i mean i can transfer files from my computer to kindle with wifi
i need your help
thanks in advance .

Wifi transfer will only work until kfu wants to shut it off to install the bootloader and recovery.
You may want to try to reinstall the drivers and if that doesn't work, try deleting your .android folder

i managed to delete it and rerun kfu and it worked.
if you can charge via cable, you are set.
reboot, reinstall drivers and then delete your .android folder while kindle plugged in

i doubt it due to the fact that windows still recognizes that it is plugged in. have you tried the unbrick utility yet? or booting linux and using soupkit?

Can that work on a Linux on virtual box or VMware because I don't have Ubuntu installed

Run linux on a live usb. Use linux mint mate 13 or ubuntu 12.04 32 bit. It has to have persistent to save data between reboots. Once booted run Soupkit on the live system http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 . Truth not all usb cables are the same I have two that will not detect fastboot at all.

My device manager says its an "Android Composite ADB Interface"...
Make sure you are using a 2.0 USB port and the proper cord . Also if device manager says android adb composite interface your computer can see your kindle fine so the utiliy should follow suit if all is right. Something up with your copy of kfu.

[Q] Kindle fire not detected - "USB device not recognized"

I have a kindle fire which wasn't doesn't connect to the computer. I get an error message such as "USB device not recognized". I had rooted the kindle fire and I thought that this problem could have been because of the rom or some kind of kernal error so I installed the stock rom thinking that I will just re-root if however the connection problem still was still there. So now I have kindle fire which is not rooted so doesn't have google market and I want to root it however cannot find a way to get it connected. I have tried 3 different computers and many different cables however still no success. I have also tried reinstalling the drivers, turning off and on the kindle fire with the cable plugged in. Could the port on the kindle fire be broken even though it charges fine. Also, would a factory cable help because I don't want to order it if it doesn't work. What other options do I have? I live in UK and this kindle fire is the 1st gen which was only available in US so cannot send it to amazon for checking.
Your help will be appreciated :good:
Do you have TWRP installed? If so, try connecting it to the computer using the USB mount via TWRP...
I have 3 Kindle Fire tablets that I installed a JB ROM on for some friends, and one will not connect to the computer (except via TWRP). I never did figure out why, but I could copy a ROM and Gapps to it while in TWRP. I set them all up the same, and that one still doesn't connect.

Plug the device in and manually uninstall the unknown device that shows up in Device Manager. Then Find the directory where the 'android_winusb.inf' is stored (somewhere in your WINDOWS directory), delete it, and start over.

Could it be possible that the port on the kindle fire is broken as I have tried connecting in on many computers and in none it has worked. Also I dont know if this is relevant but when I connect the kindle fire to the computer, the device is connected screen doesn't come up, it just charges and thats it no other change

If this is the stock OS, then I would say that is definitely a problem. You may have some system files missing for detecting USB devices plugged in as UMS. Are you able to access any flash drives?

Yes, my computer detects my galaxy s2 and other flash drives perfectly. Is there any way of rooting the kindle fire without connecting it to the computer? Because all i want is to have the play store on my device
The new version of KFU seems to have a much more effective driver install. You should try looking into that.

I am having the same issue with my KF2. USB Comms disappeared in terms of the device being recognised by XP but strangely fastboot worked and I was able to load CM11 on the device after downloading it via wifi and installing TWRP via fastboot. Still no USB on CM11 but its briefly recognised for a split second when it first boots. Monting the volume via TWRP has not effect either.
Have tried a variety of cables and have tried connecting the Kindle to an XP netbook, downloading fresh drivers etc etc etc.
Any ideas out there?

KFHD 8.9 not recognized as USB device

My rooted KFHD 8.9 is not recognized as a USB device on my computer. I have rebooted both the computer and Kindle several times. I even factory reset the Kindle twice. I have tried to uninstall the drivers, but they still stay on the computer. I don't know what else to do. I am having so many problems with this darn thing.

Same here. I am on windows 7.
The strange thing is that I can see device via adb interface commands but can't open it as a usb device.
As well I am having some issues with usb port on the device itself. It not always charging from the first time it is connected and I need to find a proper position of the usb cable in the device socket.

device descriptor request failed

Hi I did a search but couldnt find any info on this.
I followed the steps in trying to install the drivers for first gen kindle fire on win 8.1.
Drivers installed fine but when I plug in the kindle fire I get device descriptor request failed in device manager. I've tried reinstalling the drivers. Different usb cable and different usb ports and same issue exists.
Has anyone had this problem and know a solution?
Thanks!
Which drivers? From where?
Which system version is on Kindle?

I first tried using the drivers from your thread [How To][Root] Kindle Fire 1 update 6.3.3 and Flashing FFF/TWRP [2014].
Did the advanced driver install from 8.1 and I got the device descriptor request failed error.
I then tried using the drivers from [HOW-TO] Amazon Kindle Fire Signed Driver for WinXP/Vista/7/8/8.1 thread. Drivers installed fine but I get the exact same problem.
Kindle is on version 6.3.3. Only thing i havent tried with a factory reset.
Did you try uninstalling kindle in Device Manager? delete drivers if there is a option to

Kindle doesnt show up. It shows up as Unknown usb device (Device descriptor Failed)
I have tried to uninstall the unknown usb device but to no avail. I just tired a factory reset and that didnt work either. Im at a loss.
I've also tried installing manually by pointing it to the folder and it tell me the best driver has already been installed.

Have access to a Windows 7 pc?
Unfortunately i don't. Do you believe it's a windows 8.1 problem? I've been searching for some answers and it appears that might be it.
I was tempted to VM win10 and see if it worked in there.

Have you installed every driver you need?
Try USB 2.0 AND 3.0 Ports.
Is the Kindle Fire in a good condition? (No accidental damage, good envoirment conditions, etc.)
