Stock gallery freezing - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

My wife's stock gallery app keeps freezing, no sd card in the phone and only a couple pictures. I've turned off Wi-Fi and all syncing, tried different roms including reverting back to stock no root. No matter what it freezes. Anyone have any clues what might be the problem and possible fixes.

Sounds strange..but ever notice if you ket all the pictures show up the first time. ..it builds cache up and normally after opening it up the second or third time it goes alot quicker...let them all load first..
If that dosent work... download a app called "quickpik" that galkery app is awesome let it load all the pictures the first time..and it also has some nice options...that app loads very quick...and has very nice resolution. .

[CWM] Camera Fixer for cm9, aokp & cm10

Hey guys,
With the recent spring up of roms I thought I would include a camera fixer if you are having problems connecting to the sgs3 camera.
Simply flash the following file in CWM.
Thanks to id10terrordfw for the fix
Nice! Thanks a lot

Camera will still freeze on click to focus after 3 times of auto focusing quickly... When I force close the camera it can be not reconnect to camera until reboot.
This is true after installing this patch as well

So what exactly does this fix... my camera worked the same way before as it did after the fix... Try to push to focus 3 times and it freezes... camera fc's then i can't connect to it till reboot. this is exact scenario as before the fix...
Just curious...

(Unless on task's AOKP) It allows the camera to even function. CM9 and 10 do not work without this at all. You get the "Can't connect to Camera" error upon opening it. Until a permanent fix is found, this at least lets you use the cameras on the GS3 on AOSP derived ROM's. I believe task650 incorporated this into his later builds.

got it... thanks
Maybe this only works for one of the camera types (I heard there are a few) cuz I'm running cm-10-20120718-UNOFFICIAL-d2att rom, and I still get the cannot connect after installing this in CWM. It seemed to install fine...
Anyone else having this problem?
I tried flashing this on the cm9 rom for my lg optimus net which has same problem of camera not connecting. But it was no use! Any suggedtions on how to fix it??

I have updated to the latest release of CM10 (7-20) after confirming that the ROM flash did not have a working camera, and it did not (Could not connect to gallery after first two pics taken) rebooted, cleared data and cached (not that I needed to after a clean flash...but just to rule out any missing variables) got it to work again then started messing with the settings and locked up the camera. Then the next time I opened the camera I got the could not connect error. So I flashed the CWM fix and same issue, after 2-3 pics could not connect error. So I pulled the files and manually placed the in the System>Camera data folder replacing the other files with Root Explorer and set permissions. So far no green screen or problems seen thus far.
edit edit: looks like pressing too much autofocus derped it again aww man .. lol

SGS3 will not rotate. Please help!

I am a new SGS3 owner coming from the OG Evo and I've never really ran into a problem like this. My phone will not go into Landscape/On its side at all. I tried everything I know of and I'm stuck. I pulled down the notification bar and switch the toggle, went into settings and display and unchecked auto-rotate, wiped both caches, fixed permissions, formatted the entire phone (internal, external, sd-ext). I'm absolutely stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I was going to say return it because it's covered by the Samsung warranty which will cover any hardware issues which you are having. Play temple run and see if your tilt will work. But unfortunately you rooted your phone therefore breaking warranty

I was actually just about to Odin back to stock, and now the rotation works. It did drop on the floor, not far at all, before I turned it on. So it has to be a hardware problem. But hey, it works now! Lol

4.2 Camera fully working!

I've gotten it to fully work on my phone. I started from scratch. Factory reset, flash ROM, install everything you want or need, except leave the gapps files off. Rebooted my phone and installed the vending.3.9.16.apk. No problems with any of it yet.
I take that back. Having FC's after opening and closing both of the a few times. Don't know what exactly it is with the gapps that's effecting it but as long as I leave it out it works perfect.
I have CM10 installed and everything thing works on this camera except the regular camera function will freeze after first shot, unless you manual focus first.

Phone keeps rebooting (even in safe mode)

So this is exactly what I did before the problem started happening. I was on version 7/15 and I went to the recovery and flashed the 6/10 version and cleared dalvik and cache and then fix permissions. When I booted up, it acted normal for a few seconds and then it started happening. It would start freezing and then get that and shut off. I flashed 7/15 again and the problem still occurred. I cleared ktweaker data too...
Please help, I didn't backup my room (it's on my pc and I'm on vacation) I'm using my brothers phone.
I had to wipe everything and start over. Flashing ROM and everything.

I think it sounds exactly like what was happening to me. I will try to do what you did and remove my SD card next time it happens. I only seem to get that issue when im updating the kernel on Touchwiz ROMS, and on first boot it works ok for like 5 minutes and then the crazy lag, freezing then reboot loops start. From there every boot gets the freezing and lag within a minute of booting up and its either completely freezing up or rebooting itself over and over. The only way i figured i could get over it was doing a full wipe and re install my ROM and everything all over again on a clean install if i wanted to update the kernel. Definately going to try pulling the SD Card and see if that solves my issues next time it happens.

Did you debloat at all? Like delete system apps? I feel there are system level apps that i deleted and the ROM is trying to utilize them but it can't so it reboots. Cause if you look at the last_kmsg there aren't any kernel panics in it.

Not sure what the SD card has to do with anything but I removed it before I booted back up! If it happens again to you, then good luck I hope it fixes it!

I don't think anyone can tap to shoot. Tap focuses.

I see what they did. If you have camera icon showing you can not touch to take pic. If you have clear hidden icons you can touch to take pic.
Did a wipe and restored each app testing the camera in between each app. Worked fine after I restored all my apps but then it stopped working again after a few hours.
Nothing changed within those hours either.
