I haven't been back in the forums for a few months, and immediately noticed that the number of new ROMS in the "Original Development" forum has exploded!
Does anybody know which JB ROM supports usb/dock audio? I currently run my audio in my car through a GROM unit with ICS.
TIA!
As far as I know only TW Roms support the dock audio. It's listed in the CM 10.1 ROM as a known issue and I don't think any other ROMS have a fix. I'm actually on a TW rom because of this issue. I'd love for someone else to tell us otherwise.

TW, as in TWRP?
TW as in TouchWIZ i.e. a ROM based off of Samsungs stock ROM. In other words, my impression is none of the 'Original Development' roms have dock audio working. All of the roms in 'Android Development' if based off of the GB27 release, would have that functionality working just fine.

I have been trying to stick it out with CM10 on my d2tmo GS3 but it seems like they are dealing with a lot of problems right now.
I would like some recommendations for a stable 4.2.1 or higher ROM that has good BT audio quality (preferably 4.2.2 but stable and BT quality are more important). My other preferences are that I would greatly prefer to use Google Now over the Samsung S-voice (or whatever it is called) and generally prefer for those OS to have a more vanilla Android style (closer to what Google intended and not what Samsung did).
Thinking about maybe liquidsmooth 4.2.2 but I understand that is CM based, so it might not solve any of my problems. Might try it anyway.

And the simplest thing to do is make a backup with CWM (nandroid) and try the ROM. Try a different one everyday. No one knows better than you if it will work for you.
New PTMR3 rom
PTMR3 just released a new 4.2.2 AOSP rom called "Sons of Android". it worked real well with my Bluetooth.. it is great rom for me so far.. here is the link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176988
I prefer AOKP. Simple, minimalistic, clean, and bloat free so it's not to hard on operating speeds. Also if you do use a custom rom whatever it may be don't forget to flash gapps too
Ok, long story short, I was using (JB-1-Milestone-2012-10-29)(4.2.1) AOKP rom for quite some time on my Hercules.. Everything seemed "Okay" but only no NFC and t-mobile wifi calling, and I can live without that.. So I was using the ROM until I updated to (JB-MR1) edition (4.2.2) and not only is the NFC and wifi calling not working (like I said I don't care) but the damn noise reduction on the call receiver end is horrible (playing with the setting options)
OK, overall I love (JB-MR1 4.2.2) edition.. The layout is at it's best, but at the end of the day, IT IS STILL A CELL PHONE. With that being said, if I can not have a simple cell phone call conversation, the ROM is pointless.
Is there any custom ROM for the Hercules that gives the complete functions, including a working noise reduction?
Thx in advance

Also simply look through the ROMs in the development sections for AOKP, there are not many. But there are a lot of Hybrids.
For the best call quality you'd have to flash a stock ROM or a custom tom based on stock. The latest stock release is jellybean 4.1.2. Aosp roms such as cm pa or aokp are usually hit or miss with some devices although there were reports saying that the curex kernel helped solve that. But with the stock jellybean everyone says they hear me loud and clear unlike when I was using aokp.

I've been browsing through quite a few threads that have discussion of AVRCP, and I think I have become confused.
I currently am using LiquidSmooth RC2 (2.3 has more issues on my particular device and has a feature I like stripped out)...and from what I read, in order for track info to show on my BT radios I need AVRCP which is not supported in AOKP. (unless I'm confused on that too )
So can anyone tell me what ROMS I should be looking at to get that support? I've read that CM10 should have it, but browsing through that thread, I've seen posts about issues with it on CM10.
Just not sure which ROMS I should be exploring to get that support.
Thanks...

None have it from what I have seen. AOKP doesn't and neither does CM10.X

I don't find anything for that title on XDA. Do I only get it at the CM site? While doing some searching, it appears that there is a 4.2.2 CM M2. Again, only find that at the CM site. I'll try to see how I can get feedback there if no answer here: but any idea if the CM M2 4.3.3 has AVRCP support?
I find that 4.2.2 ROMS run SO MUCH FASTER, and have MUCH BETTER BATTERY LIFE.
But not having the AVRCP support is a pita.
Anyone know of a 4.2.2 popping up with that support?
So I have a Galaxy S4 T-Mobile version as you may all have guessed and right now have AOKP flashed to the latest version. I still find it a bit unstable however and I am getting tired of the all blue interface. I wish to go back to a touchwiz looking interface but not touchwiz itself. Im looking for something very stable, not a lot of bloatware and easily updatable. Also some extra things which don't HAVE to be in there but would be very nice are wifi tethering and a boost in battery life and performace. So if you guys could please recommend me something I would greatly appreciate it!

Just go into the dev sections and look at different ROMs descriptions. It should tell you what the ROM have or not have features wise. Chose one you think is best for you.
Do you want/need T-mobile's Wifi calling?
Do you need/want app2sd?
I'm on Infamous S4 V5.0, T-mobile TW base ROM. Most everything work just fine so far.

And members are expected to do the research of any ROM before drastically altering their $700 device. One person's opinion may not match up with yours so please go to the Development section and read through the first few posts of each ROM to decide for yourself which is best.
Hmm. ok soo I have been running CM 10.1.3 now for a few weeks and realy love it. But I cant seem to shake bluetooth problems (BT connection keeps dropping and stuttering). And that is extremely important to me, Car, home work all need streaming bluetooth. it will work fine for a bit then just starts skipping. Im trying one last fix but im not hopeful...soooooo its back to TW based roms for me I think.
I really want to be able to keep stock dialer and messages, I love that from AOSP (3rd party ALWAYS seem slow to me but i hate the colors of TW).
Ive been looking at the Hyperdrive Rom and Dandroid. (well Omega too, but i dont think we have a release for any 4.2.2 JB on TW for ATT yet, right?)
they both seem to be strong, and i know this is such a loaded question. Ive tried to go through at least the last 10 pages, plus first 10 pages of each ROM just to get a feel for each and i did see some BT issues but that doesnt seem to be the norm. and I do like the themeing that Dandroid did, but unsure on if any of the hyperdrive mods make it significantly better....
Anyone have any thoughts?
Oh i was on Synergy prior to moving to CM, and while it was rock solid, it seems to have stagnated a little.
thanks
S3Rx for the win!
Please try the ROMs for yourself and see how they work for you. Members on this development site are expected to do the research before drastically altering their $700 device. If you have a question whether Bluetooth works on a specific ROM either ask in Q&A or in the ROM thread if questions are allowed in that thread.
Thanks for your understanding
