I've been browsing through quite a few threads that have discussion of AVRCP, and I think I have become confused.
I currently am using LiquidSmooth RC2 (2.3 has more issues on my particular device and has a feature I like stripped out)...and from what I read, in order for track info to show on my BT radios I need AVRCP which is not supported in AOKP. (unless I'm confused on that too )
So can anyone tell me what ROMS I should be looking at to get that support? I've read that CM10 should have it, but browsing through that thread, I've seen posts about issues with it on CM10.
Just not sure which ROMS I should be exploring to get that support.
Thanks...

I don't find anything for that title on XDA. Do I only get it at the CM site? While doing some searching, it appears that there is a 4.2.2 CM M2. Again, only find that at the CM site. I'll try to see how I can get feedback there if no answer here: but any idea if the CM M2 4.3.3 has AVRCP support?
I find that 4.2.2 ROMS run SO MUCH FASTER, and have MUCH BETTER BATTERY LIFE.
But not having the AVRCP support is a pita.
Anyone know of a 4.2.2 popping up with that support?

I know there has been pieces of it in various roms, but is the actual full Gingerbread out there? I read the source code was released and that is all that was needed. Anyone???

That is called "trolling" and providing no help whatsoever.
If you're looking for a GB ROM you probably wont find one that works 100%. I'm currently using Ultimate Droid 3.0 which is based on the GB sourced and themed. I think some ROMs in the dev section may be GB source based or just themed. Make sure you read the changelog and details to make sure it isn't just themed to look like GB.
I'd say you'll start seeing more releases next month once they iron out some bugs.

This is the one I use, it's stable and it works and outside of no 4g (which no aosp rom has anyway, 2.2 or 2.3) and no hdmi (same problem) it works perfectly. The rare random reboot and the one or two time FC of the keyboard are the only problems I've had with it. When I feel like munching on Gingerbread, this is the rom I flash.

Was about to suggest this. I love cm7, I've only had one random reboot in the two days I've been running it and it was while I was taking a nap one evening hehe. That vibrate on boot woke me up!
Been away from XDA for a few months, now back to check out ICS-based ROMs. Two questions:
Are there ANY that have working WIMAX?
Could somebody please list the various options for ICS (i.e. Android 4.0.3) based ROMs and their forum links?
Bonus points if you name your favorite and tell me why.
Thanks.

1. None have working WIMAX yet!
2. Most if not all ICS Roms are based off of Prelude Drews work..problem you can't find him on XDA only on twitter for his releases and updates. Also, Deck's working on a version that is good but have to find him on a different forum -rootzwiki.
On XDA there are only a few:
1 AOKP Which is based off of Prelude Drews and they are activitly working on this.
2. MazWoz which is also based off of Drew's is updated on a regular basis.
I'm currently running Prelude Drew recent release and it's very smooth. I've tried all of them with the exception of MazWoz and they are getting better everyday. I've read good things about AOKP from people I respect. Give them a whirl and see what you think!
Also, there are a few threads in the General forum(search and you shall find) talking about ICS that would be a good read.
Hope this helps!

True, currently running it as well. Though those are all the current places to get ICS at the moment.
I've heard the main issue with most of them is that for some reason the camera won't work? That would be a deal breaker for me - can't remember the last time I actually carried a point and shoot camera

I would stay away from that one.
Its just an really poor copy of the rest-
The others are certainly good choices though.

I've been running Deck's latest and it has been running great. The working Hardware Acceleration is worth the few glitches it creates in the process. While I don't have my camera preview I can still take pictures pretty well.

Also remember everyone's phone and installation methods vary so one persons opinion is only one persons opinion. Some people like features in one some like features in another. Don't let one persons experience ruin yours
What ROM is closest to stock Android like for the Nexus 4? Not something like CM10 where is adds apps and Trebuchet and stuff. Just completely stock, like the SuperNexus ROMS?
Like Touchwiz stock or AOSP stock?

He wants a pure AOSP experience. Not one that has been customized farther like CM or AOKP.
As for ROMs that meet your need, I think most AOSP ROMs for our G3s also use source from CM and AOKP. But looking quickly, it appears LiquidSmooth or SlimBean may suit your desires.
I figured as much, here are the links to Slimbean and Liquidsmooth: (and i'll look around for some more and post if i find them)

Try SlimBean of LiquidSmooth like stated above. They're the closest to pure AOSP for our devices.
Thanks guys! I was looking for a 4.2.1 ROM so I'm gonna go ahead and give LiquidSmooth a shot. I really appreciate the help
Just kidding, I'm gonna try SlimBean because I'm getting 500-Internal Error on goo.im

get.cm is always up and running
Cm is the closest to stock experience. Unless you build your own and don't include the custom toggles and other tweaks...
Hi
Looking for a bit of help, first time trying to do this with a tablet and i didn't seem to pick an easy one
I managed to acquire an end of line demo model Versus Touchpad 10.1, thing is, i'm looking to put a stock android rom onto it, preferably of a more current version of android than what is currently on the tablet (4.1). Any help on this would be appreciated, i've checked into CM but i couldn't find one that was related the the versus touchpad. Not looking for anything fancy, just looking for a more current version of android to put onto this tablet. Thank you

Hello everyone, I'm not a noob, I'm not saying this to show off, but I'm not by any ways, I'd like anyone here that knows enough about this to give a quick answer to my question. What's the state of the roms based on the ones mentioned in the title, it's not that I don't want or know how to check, but I work from Monday to Saturday all day so I don't have much time to test stuff even though I love to. The only thing I wanted to know was basically what are the known bugs etc. Thanks in advance!

FYI, I am on Sprint.
For Sense ROMs i like Viper (not much bugs that I can find), for AOSP I like Liquid Smooth (tons of features, but drops to 3G and stays there unless you toggle Airplane mode. I believe a lot of AOSP ROMs have this issue.), for CM I like Gummy ROM.
But, I have only been testing out ROMs for 3 weeks or so now.
Anyone else wants to give me any more recommendations? Or tell me what the bugs are atm on AOSP or cm based roms? Thanks

The biggest bug I've seen is most/all aosp speakerphone mics don't work, as in you can talk on speakerphone but they won't hear you. In PA I had a bug where I couldn't search chrome properly, and I've seen a few bugs with themes, but that's all I can think of if you stick to the big names (CM, AOKP, LS, PA). Personally using CM11 nightly with furnace kernel with fantastic results. Hope this helps!

One of the major bugs with AOSP was encryption of data. It "encrypted" the phone itself and asked for password so that nobody could get in. Apparently it was fixed but I still see some threads where people complain about receiving this prompt for password in the AOSP ROMs they flashed.
This was the thread with the fix for the problem. [FIX] Data Encryption Problem AOSP Roms

Kinda disappointed to hear that duo camera doesn't work...even though it was to be expected. (I guess that's the case on all AOSP roms)

Getting frustrated trying to find KK ROMs for the XT907. Most i find aren't working and the other ones i find, i can't seem to even find a link for them.
Anyone recommend any good KK ROMs for the XT907?? Currently using CM11 and it blows - phone is pretty much unusable without a reboot daily.
Thanks!

If it blows so bad, then go back to stock. You do realize that most of the aftermarket ROMs out right now are CM based? So, they're going to have the same bugs. Like Bwen said, the DR Devs site is down right now, that hosts a ton of the ROMs for the M.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
I have devhost and mediafire mirrors of 4.1.2 and 4.4.2 stock ROMs if anyone wants. Please PM.
Also, what exactly are the bugs on CM-based KK ROMs? I experienced mainly Wi-Fi issues. Can you corroborate that Wi-Fi is an issue on CM ROMs? Also, what other issues, if any?
Thanks!
