[Q] S-OFF?

Hello,
I have a Wildfire S a510e unlocked with HTC Unlocked (code).
Put m1ndh4x8r rom on it and is working great.
Now ive read some time ago that S-OFF was only possible with a XTC-Clip
But since the bootloader is unlocked, does that mean that S-OFF is possible in other ways?
Or do i still need a XTC Clip to do so?
I want S-OFF to change my boot screen
I did search some topics but cant find the exact answer (yes/no).
Thanks.
You still need XTC Clip to get S-OFF
Have you tried this tutorial? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308169 don't think you need s-off

Looks to me like it requires S-OFF. The people who couldn't get it to work all had S-ON.

Stay on old HBOOT and wait for S-OFF

I just got my HTC One X S-ON and the first noobish question I got is, whether it's recommended to upgrade through official HTC OTA and unlock at HTC dev.
Should I stay on 0.43 to hopefully gain easier S-OFF or can I update manually somehow without upgrading H.BOOT ? Or is it safe to say that you can downgrade and relock H.BOOT, when S-OFF is succesfully done.
Had a hard time on previous HTC models, so are afraid of the official ota ;-)
I hope you can answer me

[Q] root with s-off after unrooting

hello,
i have successfully un-rooted my htc wildfire s with the following link : http://theunlockr.com/2012/10/23/how-to-unroot-the-htc-wildfire-s/
and my device now says the following:
marvel pvt ship s-on rl
hboot1.08.0000
microp-0451
radio-0-7.53.39.03m
it's not saying locked or unlocked.
previous to this it used to say unlocked with hboot-1.09.0099 or something like that. i don't remember the exact version of the hboot.
i am posting this thread because- now i want to root it again and gain s-off. [i.e; root with s-off].
please guys help me in gaining s-off to my wfs by giving the links to do it.
as i searched for it and could not help myself, so i am requesting u guys to kindly help me out.
please guys help me out.
thanks in advance
First you have to unlock bootloader (htcdev.com). Then downgrade your HBOOT to version 1.01.xxxx and then just follow instructions on any tutorial for s-off on HTC wildfire S. I hope I helped.

The gsm version of the HTC wildfire s (codename marvel) does not have any software security-off exploit and probably never will. If you want to root again then you need to re-unlock your bootloader from htcdev again.
The post above mine talks about a s-off exploit for the HTC wildfire (codename buzz) and is not compatible with your device.
Also the RL at the end of your hboot name stands for re-locked

Firewater S-Off

Out of curiosity, did anyone manage to get their HOX S-Off'd with Firewater method?
And which HBOOT version do you need to have in order to perform that task?
Thanks

Seriously...! This has been asked countless times.. Firewater S-OFF is only for Qualcomm based devices. The only method to S-OFF to date is the HTC official way...!
This thread was going downhill fast. Question asked and answered so thread closed.
