Sim Card Read Error - LG Optimus G (International)

So I finally got around to rooting my phone to get rid of bloatware. I deleted something I shouldn't have, though, because I got stuck in the LG Security Error boot loop. Sooo, I reinstalled stock firmware, but now my SIM card won't read. Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Well, rooting is not enough.you also need to unlock the bootloader before starting removing system apps.
What tool did you use to get back to stock?lg mobile tool?
If yes, please reflash using kdz updater,in cs emergency mode.

I used the LGNPST setup. I tried two separate files, the .tot's for ICS and JB, but the problem persisted.

I've tried multiple SIM cards, and none of them read. I have a SIM card that wasn't working in my E970 in my backup phone and it's connecting to the network just fine.
I downloaded a SIM utility from the Android market, and even if I insert a SIM card, the utility says that the card is "Absent".

I'm pretty sure you can only do it from the stock ROM with the different SIM card.
The unlock code will only work with a foreign SIM.

What? Did you not read the second post? "MUST BE ON STOCK ROM!"
For both the MMI code to work and for the non branded sim card to work. STOCK ROM ONLY. K?
Flash STOCK ROM via ODIN.
Instert sim card.
Boot up.
Enter unlock code.
Confirm its working (I just called my house)
Flash whatever ROM you have as your DD
Enjoy.
Im assuming stock rooted is OK? Or does the phone need to be unrooted?

Stock rooted is fine. It just has to be stock because the custom ROMs dont have the proper coding necessary for the unlock prompt to appear.

no , not branded
the phone came with GB "I8160JPLD6_I8160OJPLD2." so, i looked for JB so i downloaded TMN " I8160XXMC8_I8160TMNMC3_TMN"And Flashed it using odin
after that rooted the device until this point no sim card inserted yet , then my friend took the phone
and inserted the sim card ,then the phone started to ask for pin number he entered the right pin #
for more than 5 time , so i downgraded the phone to gb ,but every time u put sim card in it
ask for "network control key "
thanks in advance

[Q] Phone signal problems

I have got at&t unlocked phone and I haven't had any problem from above an year but I have been having signal problems from two weeks now. Messages come and go after hours, sometimes they are quick. It's like my phone is on it's own mood whether to send or not. When I try to check credits I get the error "Connection problem or inavlid MMI code". Sometimes my phone's carrier disappear too. Signals are all full. I tried porting into another carrier and found no difference at all.
I think it's related to IMEI because when I *#06# then a pop comes written "0" on it instead of showing IMEI code. Please help! Thanks!
For some reason, it looks like the folder containing your IMEI has been corrupted. Try to re-install the imei using NV writer.

I think the problem occurred after I flashed leaked version of stock 4.3. Firmware was I747UCUEMJ2. I flashed CyanogenMod 10.2 hoping that it might fix the problem but it didn't made any difference.
I checked baseband version and surprisingly, it's I747UCUEMJ2. So, what do you think? Is that the problem? Also, how can I fix this? Last question, what if I restore IMEI etc then will it still be unlocked or I will need an at&t sim?

Restoring will not re-lock the phone. If your imei and baseband appear correct, I don't think you need to inject the imei.
You could use Odin to flash back to stock and see if the problem persists.

Sorry to disturb but I have a question. Since carriers over here doesn't provide micro-sim so we have to cut out large sims and then ready to use. So, I did that but I also noticed that my friend who has S3 got smaller sim circuit and my sim's circuit covers almost whole sim. Maybe that could be the problem? Please answer so I can then contact carrier.

[Q] No sim card inserted problem

Hi everyone!
I just got a T-mobile sgh-m919 from USA.
But when i tried to insert my own local sim card (not t-mobile and not american also) , the device just can't able to read the sim itself.
It doesn't give me some code to insert and things like that and i also tried to follow a orders to unlock or something like that but its still wont work.
I know that the problem is not at the sim utself because I got also google edition device that works with this sim normally.
I dont have a problem to install rom and root my phone if needed and also if i have to pay few dollars to open it is cool but i really have no idea what sould i do...
so if anyone knows... please let me know!
Thanks! :laugh::laugh:

There is a way to bypass it as long as the device never took the 4.4.2 official update.. Do a little search in the general or development forum and you will find your answer! Its an app called region unlock

But .. the error of the unknown sim still there... what can I do?
and i read a little bit here and saw that i can't install custom roms on this device with CWM (I got the mk2 build)
so.. this safestrap is the only way? kind of scary yo me.. not as simple as other phones.....
And anothe Q... in the T-mobile device, ( android 4.2.2) I dont have those problems? in this device i can install CWM? I'm already got root on this device but it didn't install the CWM i think...
Thanks!!!
Is the network on the Verizon phone set to global? If so and you're using an original micro sim then you might have better luck in the Verizon forums.. As for the T-Mobile device, yes you can install custom recovery, it's not locked down like the Verizon model

this phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked (lg d855)

hi,
i have soft bricked my lg g3 d855 so i flashed it using lg flash tool but now i have no network & when i type 2945#*855# in sim unlock process it says "this phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked" with a "dismiss" button in all choices.
i tried everything reflashing ,flashing just the modem, updating it with lg pc suite ,downgrading to lollipop & kitkat but it doesnt seem to work & i read that this error comes from using incorrect sim unlock code too many times but i never tried it or from incorrect IMEI but my phone imei is correct. and it was working befor brick.
edit : from times to times the network get back for about 4-5 seconds then it goes back to no service
pls help me you're my last hope.
