no , not branded
the phone came with GB "I8160JPLD6_I8160OJPLD2." so, i looked for JB so i downloaded TMN " I8160XXMC8_I8160TMNMC3_TMN"And Flashed it using odin
after that rooted the device until this point no sim card inserted yet , then my friend took the phone
and inserted the sim card ,then the phone started to ask for pin number he entered the right pin #
for more than 5 time , so i downgraded the phone to gb ,but every time u put sim card in it
ask for "network control key "
thanks in advance

If you can find a simcard that will work with the phone, then sell the phone - probably best to cut your losses

Impossible to unlock XDA

Hi,
i've a TSM500 (spanish version of XDA2 from movistar carrier). I try to unlock it following the faq but when i run the program i got the following messages:
------------------
Communication port opened
waiting for radio bootloader
reading first block...
reading second block...
the phone seems unlocked already!
-----------------
(see attached)
but the phone is locked, because when i try to use it with another sim card (vodafone for ex.) a popup asking me for the code is shown
some ideas?
thanks in advance
I have exactly the same problem
Orange sim card is requesting code??????????
Please help!
Isn't this the sim code and nothing to do with unlocking fault of your phone? For example the standar 0000 code???
i ve ot a same problem
yes sir... ****ing movistar.
when could we unlock ours xda2 movistar¿
****ing again !
jubey
Jubey, what was that again?
Hi
I had the same problem
here is what i did
go here [http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6963]
down load this xda2unlock.exe
put the downloaded file on you phone and run from there there is no need to go into bootloader mode
and that was it my orange card that was locked was now ok
I am on Rom 1.60.00 wwe which is dated 12/03/03 this might make a difference
Steve
UNLOCKING WORKED - Thanks - And I love you all!
The Unblock program for the xda2, posted above really works. I love you guys for making this available to all.
Cant Unlock
Hi
I have a new XDA II - with :
Rom = 1.60.00WWE
Radio = 1.10.00
ExtROM = 1.60.50
I cant  unlock it. If I try the older Bootloader method it says that it is unlocked already. If I try the newer version it says that it succeds but the phone app automatically starts and says the the SIM card is invalid.
Some questions:
Should the Blocked Sim be in the phone at the time?
Should Flight mode be on or off when you start?
Would having a very old Vodaphone Sim card make a difference?
Thanks in advance
JB

This is not what a locked phone does. A locked phone pops up a box for you to enter the unlocking code.

Yes, I don't think 5 volt cards are supported. Try a SIM that is known to work in the XDA. To make sure you are solving the real problem.
Unlocking XDA II
Thanks for the response.
I have tried a Virgin (T-Mobile) card and it works fine
I have ordered a new Vodaphone SIM - My card dated back to 1998 - It was originally a Credit Card Sized one, with no pop out - so I cut it out!
XDAII is great though - we use Messenger a lot here for contacting clients, I was sitting in the sun today, replying to custards and their problems - if anyone out there hasnt got one and is thinking of it - get it now!!
JB
please upload the file again for me. the link above not working, thank you:angel:

I'm pretty sure you can only do it from the stock ROM with the different SIM card.
The unlock code will only work with a foreign SIM.

What? Did you not read the second post? "MUST BE ON STOCK ROM!"
For both the MMI code to work and for the non branded sim card to work. STOCK ROM ONLY. K?
Flash STOCK ROM via ODIN.
Instert sim card.
Boot up.
Enter unlock code.
Confirm its working (I just called my house)
Flash whatever ROM you have as your DD
Enjoy.
Im assuming stock rooted is OK? Or does the phone need to be unrooted?

Stock rooted is fine. It just has to be stock because the custom ROMs dont have the proper coding necessary for the unlock prompt to appear.

I think you got a LOCKED SIM phone - Easiest way to check is go to phone dial: *#*#Service#*#* (*#*#7378423#*#*). Look into Service Info/Sim Lock. If you got [x] Network 10, X meant you're SIM Locked and 10 is how many try left to enter unlock code.
Another thing as previous person mentioned - IF you see an ATT logo on the phone, that phone is SIM locked for sure and you can follow the thread suggested above and read for more info.

You sure its sim locked phone ?
As of now the model locked are sold in US AT&T .. Check if it is really sim locked. Search for thread that let you confirm this thing. :fingers-crossed:
Also as you said it it is saying 'Insert SIM' , This could be a issue of ur sim card is not good. Could be not properly cut into a Micro Sim.
Even if the handset is locked then also on inserting any sim it says 'carrier locked' , and put 'unlock code'(Thats how u unlock a mobile, if u have a code) but should not say "Insert SIM" .
Insert SIM means that your handset has not detected a valid sim card in its sim slot.
I highly suspect that your handset might be unlocked only as in singapore unlocked are sold. try getting a alternate sim (ask from somebody using Iphone 4 or 4s and try again.
Also go in the settings -> about phone -> model number
If your phone model is Lt28H or Lt28i .. Its is highly likely that it is unlocked only ! :fingers-crossed:
Confirm the above two.
Press Thanks if i was of any help. :good:

I have to flash to update ICS 4.0.4 but after update with flashing rom, nothing.
I have same info on simlock menu, this is that appear: "[X] Network: 0". I know this means I have no more tries to enter a code to unlock network.
My xs was the same code "[X] Network 0" as soon as I got a good code from UK o2, put it in and it worked fine, unlocked sim.

[Q] No sim card inserted problem

Hi everyone!
I just got a T-mobile sgh-m919 from USA.
But when i tried to insert my own local sim card (not t-mobile and not american also) , the device just can't able to read the sim itself.
It doesn't give me some code to insert and things like that and i also tried to follow a orders to unlock or something like that but its still wont work.
I know that the problem is not at the sim utself because I got also google edition device that works with this sim normally.
I dont have a problem to install rom and root my phone if needed and also if i have to pay few dollars to open it is cool but i really have no idea what sould i do...
so if anyone knows... please let me know!
Thanks! :laugh::laugh:

There is a way to bypass it as long as the device never took the 4.4.2 official update.. Do a little search in the general or development forum and you will find your answer! Its an app called region unlock

I did it! it just needed to change from LTE to GSM
But .. the error of the unknown sim still there... what can I do?
and i read a little bit here and saw that i can't install custom roms on this device with CWM (I got the mk2 build)
so.. this safestrap is the only way? kind of scary yo me.. not as simple as other phones.....
And anothe Q... in the T-mobile device, ( android 4.2.2) I dont have those problems? in this device i can install CWM? I'm already got root on this device but it didn't install the CWM i think...
Thanks!!!
Is the network on the Verizon phone set to global? If so and you're using an original micro sim then you might have better luck in the Verizon forums.. As for the T-Mobile device, yes you can install custom recovery, it's not locked down like the Verizon model
