Hey guys. Need some help here. Ive googled a lot but still couldnt find a clear explanation
nor tutorial of what should I do, if I want to upgrade to comming 4.2.2 having my gtn7100
Note II rooted on stock rom.
Im a noob so be warned: in SuperSU theres an option that sais full unroot. As I understand
its not a proper unroot. True?
Triangle away, changes some counter to 0. What is that and is
this step crucial?
Could you guys make it clear for me and explain the steps of unrooting a stock ver.?
After the expected update gona root it back I guess.
Flashing stock rom with odin completely unroot.
Reset counter is related to warranty, if that doesn't matter for you then forget it.

Won't this leave SysScope screaming that your device is modified?
If counter is raised then status will remain modified.
To revert status normal you need
Reset counter
Flash stock rom
Wipe cache and data (optional if status is notmal)

if you use TA under root, doesn't it force an auto reboot? How do you get the SU to do full unroot then?
Yes, once you do TA it reboots in a recovery and warns you tge resets counter. Does not factory reset just restarts and clears counter.
Under supersu if you scroll down to the bottom of options ut wilk say full unroot.
Id show a screenshot but I unrooted already. If you see it can you post a screenshot.

easiest way. once you run the TA app, it'll reboot, once you press 'vol up' to clear and when it's done (screen goes blank), pull the battery, go to DOWNLOAD mode, it'll be 0.
Does this also work on the Rogers version? It is the SGH-I317M.
Yes

Make sure all rooted apps are uninstalled then go to settings. If it says modified like mine then there is still a rooted app installed. Your picture is correct, shows everything stock.

Well that picture is stock out-of-the-box. I just want to make sure i can obtain that back whenever it is needed.
Post your device status as well mine said modified. Yours should be normal. Good info thanks.
And yes those steps are what you will follow to put back in factory settings. The device status must also be unmodified. In my pic its modified.

I thought the main reason to root was to install a different kernel?
I can root to flash to flash roms on top of stock kernal

One quick question. ..
Okay so if I DID make a stock rooted nandroid backup before I flashed custom rom and kernal and I wanted to just completely unroot and go back to stock everything, then all I would have to do is just flash back to the nandroid I made, then run triangle away, delete any root apps, then click unroot in SuperUser and I should be good to go if I have to take the phone in for warranty? And will it be in that exact order? Or should I just run triangle away then factory reset and flash official stock rom? Is that basically the same? Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks

Hello guys. Today first time rooted my note 2 and flash up ARHD. Everything looks okey except phone status? When im checking my status its shows me my phone is "modified".
What it means and is it normal after root?
Hi
Of course this is normal but you can back to "Normal" status if you prefer.
This is just for theoretical warranty.
Thanks for it. I I tried triagle away but its still shows me the same status. Well, if you know any good and safe way how to do it please let me know
If your recovery is custom, status will remain modified as well flash count also remain 1.
Which is your recovery and kernel stock /custom?

Hi Dr.Ketan
My counter is 0 despite custom rom & kernel thanks to Triangle Away app and 'Auto reset at boot' option.
Concerning the 'normal' I have a tutorial but in french only. You need XposedInstaller with XposedSysscopeBlaster module.
Yeah but very few kernel have this support.

Just do a factory reset while on stock and you'll get normal status back. Only required when you're in need of getting your warranty back. Of course you'll need to have used triangle away beforehand to get rid of the counters before you flash stock.

I want to sell my Note 2 (International version). And I'm not sure what my friends did to my phone as it has been rooted and probably the bootloader has also been tampered with.I require the easiest way to return it back to normal as it came when I bought it.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Simply go to sammobile.com and download a stock ROM. Then flash it through ODIN, after that root device and install Triangle Away app and reset counter to Zero.
Next step is to either reflash the rom through ODIN or do a factory reset through settings.
What you will be doing is resetting the binary count, flashing stock recovery and stock rom.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
TriangleAway first and then flash a Stock ROM.
If your phone state is still Custom just do a Factory reset.
I did as you said but after updating my phone OTA the system says my device is modified
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Even with a Factory reset?
You cannot have FOTA if your status is "Modified".
After the factory reset it was back to normal. But after when I OTA it it said the device was modified

Next time try to upgrade via Odin

here is the perfect solution
You need to reset counter after flashing stock rom, here steps for you
-root with cf auto root(method 1 on my guide)
-Use triangle away to reset counter
-reboot device normally before checking counter.
-check counter after 10min
-if it is fine, uninstall triangle
-open supersu setting - full unroot
-factory reset
Hello
Could you please help me with restoring my phone to factory settings and unroot?
I read DR.Ketan unroot guide, but i am not sure which kernel/stock recovery to flash.
Also will i need to flash a stock room after that and is there any stock ROM or any way for me to get Arabic language on my Galaxy note 2?
I have uploaded a link of the image with my phones current software details etc.

Yes you will have to flash stock rom and that will take you back to stock kernel as well also use triangle away to reset your counter

You can go back I did plus get rid of knox bootloader. I was stuck and everytime I tried the knox bootloader was saying unsupported and wouldn't allow me to downgrade. So what I did was flash twrp in odin and then downloaded a stock mc rom with count reset and stock bootloader rooted or non there was two versions and it put me back bone stock with no knox anything. That's the only way I know that worked for me I tried allot of different ways that didnt work. With knox it block everything.

I appreciate all the replies! One more question, im also rooted and I've removed all the knox software but besides that im completely stock. Will that make a difference?
If your on knox bootloader it won't let you downgrade with odin . Go to download mode and see if you see knox stuff at the top of you do try downgrading my way.

Ok let me make sure I'm understanding this. If I want to go back to mc2 I can use the back to stock with counter reset mc2 zip right? And if I'm correct flashing the custom recovery to do so will set off Knox correct? But once the zip flashes I'll be back on mc2 bootloader without Knox I'm assuming. Now let's say I decide to update again, will the 4.3 Knox bootloader show 0 or be marked as 1 like it's tampered?

Re upgrading to the 4.3 upgrade will cause the knox status in download mode to reappear and yes it will still be tripped. But you could revert to MC2 and then use lorjay589s thread to upgrade to the new 4.3 with the MC2 bootloader so everything will appear untampered

Okay.. I had upgraded to the 4.3 Deodexed and Rooted KNOX removed ROM by lorjay589. Great rom, but I was missing some of the things that I use (Wallet, NFC, "That Bump Thing", etc...)
I wanted to resort to MC2 Stock and reset the counter and then take the OTA, and just deal with it from that point.
When I did the normal boot into recovery, wipe completely, and then flash the MC2 Stock with Counter Reset ROM (As I have done multiple times in the past), along with the root.zip to maintain root temporarily to restore my app data, I ended up stuck on the "U Were Scared we're almost done) for ever. I waited and waited and waited. The options in TWRP were available and the log shows "Updating partition details" and it never moved.
I decided (after 30 minutes) to pull the battery (Yea, I know, not smart), and attempt the clean/flash again.
Now, I'm sitting with no OS and each time I reboot the phone into recovery, I go right back to the "U Were Scared" TWRP screen, and my SD Card is not available any longer.
Any help would be awesome! Thanks
had the same issue. just hit install and reflash mc2.
