I think this display is totally broken have you still warranity for it? (don't think so) a new display for the Wildfire cost (in Germany 2012) for me 90€ thats more than it now costs new.

Have you dropped it recently? That could have damaged it and it might need replacing. It could be a software problem try flashing a new rom first. If this doesn't fix it then your screen might need replacing.

this weird spot appeared on my screen yesterday, and I have no idea why... How do I get rid of it?
Looks like the start of somthing nasty like a newton ring.... do you have an amoled or lcd screen?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
it seems that you have pressed the digitizer against something or left it sowhere hot. but i have seen this again and it went away on its own. if it does not you must send it to htc for repair.

It's SLCD. Also, I didn't pressure it, and it was in the cold when this happened, about -12 C
digitizer+touch sensitive part, not the lcd. anyhow. try to leave it in room temp and see what will happen.

Well, I'm still going to take it to HTC Care. I already unrooted, so there's nothing to lose. I hope I'll get a replacement though...
Sorry for the bump, just wanted to post that I got the phone back 2 days ago.. 58 days in service.

OMG My phone was on repair with cracked inside AMOLED screen(not the digitizer) for a week only. Did you actually got new phone or the same? and did you get it fixed? did you pay for it or was it in warranty?

[Q] need help with a strange screen problem

I have an HTC Desire Bravo and it suddenly developed this screen issue.
I uploaded images of the phone to my flickr. It seems that perhaps the lcd oil has leaked or maybe water has gotten in. I'm sure it was caused by pressure on the screen as the LED backlights are more visible round the sides now and the inside screen (LCD) seems curved outwards but the outside (digitizer/touchscreen) doesnt seem bent. anyway here's the links to my pictures, If anyone finds a way to fix it without sending it off to get a new screen please let us know!

In order to fox the screen yourself it literally requires you take take apart the ENTIRE phone from back to front. I'm sure you can find a guide on Google, but you'd be really putting your phone at risk if you haven't got any experience with this.
You can't fix this yourself.. needs to be sent for repair, you'll only make it worse mate

I kinda figured. I was hoping to see if it was possible to open the phone and just blow air between the screen and digitizer.. that way i could theoretically pop them apart with like a bit of surgical tubing and an industrial strength blower.
But if the screen isnt connected with a ribbon and is just silicon stuck on then i'm not doing it. HATE that silicon ****.
Oh and thanks bortak
I had the same problem on my Samsung jet. It's a LCD leak. U can fix it ur self but it is very complicated and requires you to dissassemble your phone ..

Almost certainly not going to happen. Since we haven't seen a port of any previous HTC ROM, then this would be no exception.

sorry for bringing this post up again, but i think this is better than opening a new thread.
what i wanna ask is that does something make it difficult to port a htc rom to this device, or something else?
i am certainly attracted by the htc one rom on first sight. it would be nice if i can have a taste of it on GNex without the need of changing a new one.

mostly coz: Nobody even bothers! JK
If you just read the other threads asking for HTC ports, you'd know that what makes it all the more difficult is HTC framework, which is proprietary.

HTC one x touch screen issues

Hi the centre of my screen has decided to stop working?!?!
I think it may be
Screen
Screen connection
Software related (I doubt)
I have used a touch screen app to show where its stopped working. Any one else had this problem?

Any help appreciated

Hi!
I have exact the same problem! After I spilled a little bit of water on my phone this part stopped working..
It is an hardware failure.
This all happened a few months ago, and it's annoying, but I can live with it. If you have to touch this exact part, you can rotate the screen to landscape mode and click the part you want to touch.

That's good to no never thought to rotate the screen! Thanks for that I havent dropped or spilt anything on my screen so I have no idea how it happened its a bit annoying.

Hi friend..... your motherboard would have to be changed or the digitizer. Had the exact same issue. If it is under warranty then replace asap....if not ...its costly.... Mine was fixed under warranty.
This was some known issue I believe last year, then it went quiet.
Regards.

Sorry for digging up this old thread, but I'm having this issue 2 times 1 a row. The first time was at the beginning of this year, I sent it to repair under warranty. Everything works perfectly until yesterday, the problem came back again. Any tips or tricks on how to fix it without replacing any hardware? I have ran out of my warranty contract and my phone is rooted so it's gonna cost me if I send my phone to htc
Bump. I also have this issue with my HOX, I'll report back if I manage to fix it.

[Q] White and color vertical lines on screen. Hardware or software issue?

Hello. I recently purchased a Nexus 7 2013 model. For the first couple of days, it worked flawlessly. However, while it was charging today while on, I attempted to use it and experienced white vertical lines on the screen. After powering down and restarting, the lines disappeared. However, the vertical lines reappeared after a couple of minutes.
I have attached pictures for reference.
Is this normal? Or is this a hardware defect? Your thoughts are most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I dont see anything normal in that ;(
Maybe its not hardware problem - some more advanced user should look into this problem...
Tapnięte z mojego Galaxy S3
That's most likely a hardware defect, assuming it has warranty you should be able to replace it.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will return it to the seller.
Actually, the lines are colored as well. Photos attached to OP. If anyone believes it is a software issue, please let me know. I already tried a factory reset.
Thanks!

That looks like hardware problem. Could be as simple as loose cable.
Thanks for the reply. Decided to just return it. I don't know why, but I have a lot of pairs with the Asus items I have purchased. ?
