whenever i tried, i got (status 7) installation aborted or after installation completed, it stuck at HTC screen.
any Ideas for this problem?
thanks a lot
Are you flashing the boot.IMG found in the ROM?

no. i m flashing the rom.zip by install from sdcard. which i saved from pc.
You need to extract the boot.IMG file from the ROM and flash it in fastboot USB mode with the following command. "Fastboot flash boot boot.IMG"

You just don't allow to flash radio.img with S-ON.
let me try boot.img first and get back here
thanks guys

Hi everyone.
Have this problem been solved yet?
My Desire Z is unlocked with htcdev. Has CWM recovery. Everytime when I install another rom I have to go to fastboot and run command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" to flash with current rom's kernel. It is not only annoying but very buggy too.
this will continue to plague you untill you remove the unlocked bootloader and root your phone the proper way, ie follow the xda or cyanogen wiki

Hi,
I have a HTC Desire HD that i have inherited from a guy at work ...and i need a little help ...after speaking to him he was trying install CM on this and tried to do it without rooting it first !
Basically he flashed the boot.img using fastboot and now it doesn't boot up at all ...surprisingly.
I wondered if anyone can help me with this it boots to recovery but doesn't have root access so i can't install another ROM ...what i figure i need is the stock boot.img so i can reflash this using fastboot to the device then i should at least be able to boot this up. But i can't seem to find this.
Can anyone help..?
Thanks
Rick

This shoud belong in the general section, but...
Just plug your phone into your computer and run a coresponding RUU from windows.

Or copy ruu to sd and go to hboot menu, (power on & vol-)

Is the bootloader unlocked? if not is impossible even to try to flash a custom rom. Get a RUU for your phone and revert to a working phone. Then if you want just root it and then flash any rom you want. Follow this guide:

Hey guys...long time subscriber, not your usual poster. Been using mikes ARHD roms since I had my DHD. My One X has a CID not yet available to flash a JB Rom.
I'm still on ARHD 9.7.2 but I have a problem. The phone reboots on a daily basis. Today being the worst...4 times. Happens anytime, could be locked or even trying to dial a call. No idea why, otherwise running perfect. My hBoot is 0.95 - anything to do with it??

Have you tried flashing the boot.img that comes with the ARHD rom?
You need to download it separately on the first post.
Boot into fastboot mode
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

I was previously running 9.4.1 so i had flashed the boot.img with that but was under the understanding that it was the same boot.img for all 9.x.x ROMs??
Should i just flash it anyway and then flash the ROM again??
Hi,
The last time i tried to update my phone my phone went dead so i hope someone can tell me how to update my phone?? Please help me out!
I dont want to kill my phone again!!!
Now i have 3.2.4 and i think the newest is 3.4.0
I am running the teamwin recovery btw..
My phone has HBOOT 1.39.000 HTC__E11 but says S-On...
Do i need to flash my HBOOT anyway before i do the ViperX 3.4.0 package???
Or can i just wipe and unpack the zipfile in recovery???
Thanx...
Wipe, install zip, then flash boot.img in fastboot.

Sure
I tried to change CID.my Hox is in bootloop. I edited via HexEditor mmcblk0p19 and mmcblk0p4. RUU is not working. My phone starts fatboot and recovery (orang216, 3.16.65.2) pls help
Flash original recovery and boot and relock..and aflash firmware again
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
And if flashing the firmware doesn't work you make a full wipe in the custom recovery, flash back the stock one, relock and run the ruu again.
