Kindle Fire 2 10.4.3 (Possible to Root?) - Kindle Fire 2 Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting

My kindle just got an upgrade about 30 mins ago, and I used root check to see if I was still rooted and im not :/ Could I use the same method I used to root my Kindle when it was at 10.4.1? I asking because I don't want to mess anything up (again)

What method did you use to root 10.4.1 ?

The linked post appears to be about the Kindle Fire HD. This thread is about Kindle Fire (2nd generation). Are you sure the instructions are the same?

so are you 100% certain the same method to root kindle 2 with 10.3.1 firmware works for those with 104.1 and 104.3?

I tried with this steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075959
I did everything but at the end no root (there were some errors in the different steps). At least es file explorer cannot see it.
Can I flash older firmware?

I was wrong - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075959 works on 10.4.3 - I just not realized the rooting succeed.

I tried that same method on my KF2 10.4.3 and got to the last step where I ran rootqemu.bat but then after a couple of enter presses the screen just hung on the *daemon started successfully * step. Don't understand what went wrong.

Just let both run, your device will be rooted. Well it rooted mine. About the daemon one, if it gets stuck close it. run the other 1.

[Q] This is probably a stupid question but I need to know.

I am a complete noob and I have a question. I am going to root my kindle fire with "Kindle Fire Utility 0.98+" and I know that I have to install permanent root, but what else on the menu do I need to install, and is there any particular order to install them, and how to UN-root if I have too.
Sorry for a stupid question but I am not accustom to these things like the younger generation.
Thanks,
Scotty
Make sure what kindle version you got. You don't want to brick it. All the tools you need should be in kfu. Good luck

If all you need to do is root, just select the root option in the menu. It will install everything you need.

I know there is, but the only option I can give you is to uninstall superuser when you are rooted. That will not give anything access to root. Is this the same as unrooting? I don't know.
Also, you could flash the stock update.zip after taking appropriate measures in TWRP and wiping the things you need to to go back to the unmodded kindle fire OS.

Yes, just download one of the update files from KFU and install them and you will be unrooted. Or uninstall superuser after deleting su in the /system directory.

[Q] Kindle Fire 2 (10.4.1) Red Screen Recovery

Hi there,
I would like to ask if there is someone that could help me solve my problem.
I was going to install a custom ROM from Hashcode (OFFICIAL CM10.1), but before I had a chance to flash it I stumbled upon a problem when I tried to flash TWRP from TWEEZERMOD 1-CLICK cordless METHOD, I downloaded TWRP ran it and while it was installing
it rebooted my Kindle Fire 2 I could see Kindle Fire logo and after that flowed by RED SCREEN and no way out of there, I can turn it off when I
long press the power button for 20 seconds, but after I turn it on same thing happens Kindle Fire logo and followed by RED Screen.
I purchased a fastboot cable from Ebay
and after plugging it into my KF2 and then into my laptop, I'm stuck at Fastboot screen with a traffic light BLINKING GREEN.
Can anyone help me with the next steps, as I have no idea what to do, and I tried to google this with no luck.
Thank in advance
Screen
Actually I followed your instructions at the beggining of your thread and they worked like a charm, the KF First Aid didn't for some reason,
But anyway thank you lots.
For people who have the same problem just download this tool from mindmajick
Restoration tool link:
Once downloaded run the tool and in the options choose
1st Check fastboot status
2nd Erase cache and userdata
3rd Restore-Boot and recovery
4th then wait after your Kindle will be booting for a bit, at some point I thought I was stuck at the booting logo but it was just preparing your KF2

I have had a look at that one and for some reason the KF First Aide cannot find my device,
it keeps giving me this message whenever I try to Completly restore or Display the fastboot Status
"The system cannot find the path specified".
I would like to try it your way but as I don't understand the terms used it your instructions or procedures I'm unable to do so,
that is why I asked for you step by step guide.
So when I got to your post I went straight into last page number 4

Hello there,
Yes I do know that, but as it didn't work for me to install TWRP which is quite important for flashing a new ROM
I will be doing a step by step guide that worked for me.
You see I was following the instruction for Hashcode CM 10.1 and when I tried to install TWRP on my KF2
I got stuck at the Red Screen, and then I had to unbrick my KF2, thanks to Mindmajick I unbricked.

Did you take the update??? If not you should be OK to root. If you did then I'm not sure, you might be able to but then again it may brick your device. Sorry it's not the answer you are looking for but it's the best I have.

[Q] Rooting Kindle Fire 1st Gen 6.3.4

Hey all!
I'm sorry if there's a post about this somewhere and I missed it but I looked and couldn't find anything.
I recently bought a 1st gen Kindle Fire off a friend of mine and I want to root it so I can have a bit more usability than what it comes with. The problem is that it's running 6.3.4 and I've only been seeing root help and tools for 6.3.2 and lower. I tried using the KFU but the root tool there wasn't able to perform the necessary operations (it just restarts in fastboot and won't continue from there). Does anyone have any tips or advice for how I would still be able to root this device? I've even looked into trying to revert back to 6.3.2 but haven't found anything that allows for that.
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!

I've tried it with two different USB cables in every port on my computer with no luck. I even tried my old Motorola USB cable that I used to root my Droid years ago with no success.
