Hi guys.
I work on sites that can get very dusty and was after a case that would protect my phone from dust getting into my phone.
There's a lot of rugged cases that protect the ports/plugs with silicon plugs, but nothing that will also protect the 2 front speakers from dust.
At one stage I was looking at waterproof cases like the Seidio OBEX, Lifeproof, Otterbox Armor, but it doesn't look like these companies will be making these cases for the HTC ONE .
Does anyone know of any case that I could use to protect my ports/plugs/speakers (all) from dust?
ps. I don't want to use those waterproof bag cases.

only one. otter-box defender. but u r phone might look pregnant.
The otterbox defender and Trident Kraken both have speaker cutouts in their inbuilt screen protector.
I also don't care how bulky/fat/pregnant it looks as I'll only be using it at work.

Some of them do some of them don't. I see iPhone, android phones aswell as windows phones, blackberrys, palm, flip phones, sliders and bt headsets on construction sites all the time. People use what they got n what they want.
(edited to not sound like a d**k) XD
Sorry op. Ive got no clue. I don't really use cases. Something like a life proof case for the One would be what your looking for, but I think they only make cases for iPhones.
Get a phone sock or a little zip case with belt loop on it. You have to think differently if you want your phone to stay clean and safe. I work on site and all you can really do is keep it clean and safe. Another tip is put it in an old pair of cut down tights or stockings what woman wear and then put your case on the phone to help keep dust out.

Honestly, when i know i will be in a dusty or wet environment, i usually just put my phone in a ziploc bag. Your screen taps are still recognized and people can still hear your voice through it.
Yeah I'm currently using a ziplock bag.
It's not ideal, but it definitely works a treat.

I use the HTC Messenger Pouch, nothing special, but it does the job its supposed to do & its not bulky...
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Messenger..._1_6?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1296662977&sr=1-6
Yea I used to use a standard hip holster until I got tired of pulling the phone out and putting it back in; now I don't use anything but I occasionally use a clear polycarbonate case when im taking the phone somewhere dangerous (or to cut down on heat when planning to lay down and talking the phone.)
i bought a case for my galaxy S off ebay.
thought it would protect my lovely phone. but instead it gave my phone 3 parallel scratches down the back.
now my phone is bare
Picked up an otterbox defender for my Captivate early this week. On sale from 1to3 Shop or 3to1 Shop or something like that. One of them Amazon deals.
I can't believe how perfect it is. When Ipods came out, I became convinced that Body Glove would rule the protective case market forever. Otterbox leaves them in the dust with the smartPhone cases, IMO.
.
Always the slimiest soft silicone available
No, no case, but my phones are always mint condition because they get their own pocket. Nothing else is allowed in that pocket. I don't know how people can pay hundreds for a phone and then drop keys and keychains into the same pocket. I put all keys and loose change in a separate pocket and wallet in another.
No, they are bulky. Never have
No case here either, I find most of them to be too bulky. I'm careful enough, and don't mind the occasional scuff on the back. Screen protector is a must though!
I bought a otterbox defender case for my HTC4 evo. Phone is too expensive not to protect it in some way.
I also find them too bulky.
I go bareback on all of my phones.
Not since GorillaGlass...
yes. I use an Omni case that was on markdown it fits perfectly on my phone
I don't feel the need to use one.
Have too, one waterproof bulky case for outdoor use, and the other a soft pouch for around the house

I have a T-Mobile G2 and I do not use a case for it because it's made of metal, it looks purdy, and it would be a little too bulky for me.
Don't use cases because of the bulk, I do however have an invisibleShield, just to protect me from scratches.
I love my invisibleshield, and I use the Innocase Active on my DI. My husband and a few friends have the Innocase Surface on their DIs. I started out with a cheap (crappy cheap), Verizon case and holster. Next thing I know my DI is on the asphalt shattered! I still don't know how it happened, I think my purse popped it out of the holster. (it still worked! Screen literally shattered, but I put some saran wrap on it and kept using it til I got my replacement!)
Needless to say I have protected it since. And a good thing too, because it has met the asphalt several more times. But the Seidio Innocase has proven its worth time and time again! And its not terribly bulky like an OtterBox. They do have a rugged case you can put on over your everyday case for those times that may be particularly hazardous to your phone.
Sorry didn't mean to write a sales pitch, I'm just very impressed with how well it protects my phone.
i used to use cases when i had an iphone, but now with my galaxy s I prefer not to use them. mostly because i have difficulty finding a good case that doesnt add a ton of bulk.
Well I just ordered the Otterbox Defender Series for my EVO on amazon and I wanted to hear some some toughs. I know about the kickstand problem it has but that does not really bother me. I know the case is huge but that doesn't bother me either since the phone is huge by itself. So forum what are your thoughts on it?
How doe it feel? Does it really protect the phone? Any problems you have had?
I had one....the beltclip kept breaking...even though they replaced it for free it was rather annoying....so i bought a ballistic....had no issues yet
Sent from my PC36100
My honest thoughts? I'm sorry that you wasted $50. It is one of the worst quality cases that I have ever come across.
I liked the Otterbox.......dropped my phone from 4 feet onto my ceramic floor with no damage to the phone; though the holster and kickstand are horrible. But now I have the Ballistic HC.
I have 2 of them, one still in the box. I've never used either of them, I put one on my phone to see how it looked once and took it off and put my commuter back on. They do feel like they would protect the phone quite well but they just feel a bit cheaply made for the price they charge. For me, the commuter is the perfect case, I just wish they sold a holster/belt clip for it. I have heard the Sedio holster for the Active works with it, I just have a hard time paying $30 for just a holster.

It is, there's clear plastic (same material the screen protector is made of) over the camera lens and the LED flash
I have one and use it when im at work, I like it alot the camera lenses and flash are protected and the screen is protected at well. I had a similer case before with no screen protector but the rubber wore through and eventually the clip broke. The otterbox makes the phone considerably more bulky but I sincerely feel like I could drop kick the phone and it would be perfect so the bulk dosent really bother me. Its all about what you need the protection for everyones needs are different

Well from what you guys have said it seams like its an okay case but its horrible compared to the ballistic. I currently don't have a case on my phone so at least he otterbox will protect it. Now what are the problems with the holster and belt clip? Does the belt clip break easily or what?
I can't personally speak for this case, but I have the commuter case and love it. easy to pull the case on and off but protects it well from the drops and what not it encounters on a daily basis at work. I also can't speak for the ballistic either, but i'll take a look at it now that you guys have mentioned it
The case does live up to the defender series name, theres only 2 issues I have with the case, the kickstand will brake for sure no if's our but's, and the silicone layer has to be constantly adjusted specially after charging. I don't know of any issues with the holster, I just see people complaining on how bulky it is. But that is preference, I like the holster and it seems very well built.
Sent from my "Bullet Stopping Supersonic “ using tapatalk
I had one, def was not too impressed especially how the kickstand had cracks the day after i bought it. Then there were cracks all around the front screen protector. So, i did a warranty claim got a new one and sold it. Picked up a cyclops and very happy with it. I am switching up to the Kraken tho because at my work we get em for $20 so i figured why not. I haven't had personal experience with the Ballistics case yet but if the kraken fails me i may try it.
I've never owned the Defender case for the Evo, but I did have one on an iPhone 3gs. That was a solid case, but the way it was held into the holster wasn't very reassuring. From what I've seen, the Defender for the Evo seems to have a similar problem. It's just not very secure in the holster.
I DO however currently own a Ballistic case, and WOW is it ever solid. It's also VERY securely held in the holster. The biggest downside is that it's very squared off, very bulky, and a little awkward to hold. That's why I put it in the case at work, but take it back out when I'm at home most of the time.
Defender cases are quite a bit more ergonomic, but that doesn't matter for crap if it's gonna fall out of the holster, IMO.

i think the otter is better then the ballistic, the otter has thicker silcon
Like I said before I use mine at work only, I work for an ambulance company and my phone is subjected to some pretty intense probability for damage but I've had the defender on for like 4 weeks no problems at all and it hasn't fallen out of the holster once I did drop the phone about 5 feet into the snow and and it slid onto the pavement and the phone was totally uneffected I highly recommend the defender!

I have a few cases for my GS3 and only have one with a belt clip (Otterbox Defender). I'm looking for a case, maybe even a leather wallet case, that has a belt clip somehow already attached to the case itself. Anyone come across one or know of anywhere I could find one??
Please help... Thanks! :fingers-crossed:
I like the Large Nite Ize Sideways case when my GSIII is naked or wearing a slim case. The velcro closure is secure but noisy, and the clip is slim and just pliable enough to minimize the effect of having a near tablet strapped to your waist. Around here REI carries them for ~$13.
I appreciate the responses guys.. I really do.. :highfive:
...Although, what I'm really searching for would be one of a kind. You guys post links to simple leather pouches or cases that slide out from a seperate belt clip. What I really want to find is a case that combines the two (nothing seperated). I want a case that has the belt clip feature embedded into the case itself.
Is what I'm asking for make sense or even economical? Thanks again..
Try the rokbed case. there's a thread here for it.
:good: There we go! That's as close as we're gonna get to what I'm describing! Thanks bro :highfive:
And for others who are still curious of what I was looking for.. rokform.com/cart/Galaxy-S3-Cases/
Any one else still know of any other options thats just like the rokform case? Please post!
if you search amazon for "samsung s3 clip" you'll get a few results to choose from. $45 is a bit much for a case..
what's your budget?
Go to bestbuy and they have yge platinum series xase for like 35$ it a case with belt clip
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Budget isn't really a concern as of right now.. I just want to see what's out there first then make a decision then.
Remember this post is only about a case with a clip attached to the case itself. Not one with a separate belt clip! I can find a million of those!!

Try PDair.com, they've got a neat set of belt clip cases for GS3
I've been quite tempted to get one of those RokForm cases. They may be expensive, but they have a great design to them. Somehow i find the addition of the magnet to the back of the case to be quite interesting and potentially very useful. Though i doubt it would really help with NFC use.... i don't really ever use NFC, so that wouldn't really bother me. Still.... $45 IS quite a lot for a case.
read Amazon belt clip reviews
I was going to order the v3 until I read the Amazon belt clip reviews (since it's sold separately these reviews are only on the belt clip not the case itself), about 10 or 11 out of 13 are negative for various reasons. Shame because I need a belt clip case that allows the screen to face outward and very, very few cases that offer a reasonable amount of protection do that. After now spending over 20 hours online researching for one I am all ears for anybody's suggestions. I have dismissed the Otterbox Defender & Griffin Survivor because I use anti fingerprint screen protectors and their built in screen protectors really load up with fingerprint smudges. Only case I've found so far is the aluminum Monaco and it has the exact features I want but I'm trying to get some user feedback from those with aluminum cases as I've read they can effect the phone radio and GPS.
In essence, I'd like to find and order a case immediately and move on with my life..........lol

Have you thought about going with the Griffin or Otterbox Defender and the using an "exacto" knife to remove the plastic covering they come with? I use my Otterbox all the time with the screen out, and even though I have the stock screen cover on it because I work part time at an ice rink and don't want the extra moisture exposure that would come with doing this. However, I did it to my wife's Skyrocket Defender case and she loved it when she was running because it was both outward facing and still in a super-secure clip / case.

I was going to order the Otterbox Defender last night until I viewed Otter's website and 29 of 46 reviewers stated they would not recommend it to a friend. There were many complaints about the rubber outer case coming lose after 2-3 months and various other complaints. Many stated they were longtime Otter users and were very disappointed in the overall quality. Also, on another forum a user stated you can't effectively remove the built in screen protector because there isn't a way to remove the adhesive residue. I was going to live with the fingerprint smudges until I watched a You Tube Griffin Survivor review tonight and I'm thinking you'd have the same adhesive residue issues trying to remove its screen. I honestly can not believe I'm having this much difficulty finding a screen outward facing belt clip case. My Captivate has a Body Armor case that is exactly what I want in terms of protection and features but most unfortunately Body Glove does not offer the same case for the S3.
I'm going to start a new thread asking for suggestions, thanks for your reply.

i removed the screen protector on my defender. The glue is more like cling u just pull and it comes off clean. But i would consider the ballistic sg maxx over the defender. Im gonna order it soon.
I watched a You Tube review of the Ballistic SG Maxx and most unfortunately it is a screen facing inward case only. There's a sticker stating that on the holster. That is a fine looking case and I'd buy one tonight if it were screen outward. If I can't find an outward facing one (and after all the research I've done am thinking I won't find one) I will probably buy either the Seidio Active Extended if it fits my Akron car dock and if not the Ballistic.

I'm a sales rep at a Verizon store, one of our customers came in with this weird gadget on the back of their phone. I asked them about it and apparently they invented it. To make a long story short I'm currently testing it out for them and one of it's features is a belt clip, or rather a pocket clip that works with some belts too. The advantage is that it can turn almost any case into a belt/pocket clip without ruining the case. I'm not supposed give out too much information about the product but it's really wicked cool and should be out sometime next "year" they say.
That's a solution I'd be interested in! Could you find out a better eta from the people you got it from and possibly post a pic of what it looks like.. Thanks!

Just wanna see which case is the best and/or how you like yours if you have/had one. So please of youve had one of these cases or maybe all three(which is kind of pricey) could you share your thoughts on it. Really wanna get a tough waterproof case for my GS3.
It all depends on you. Armor is crush proof but from what I have read it has the worst sound and adds a lot of extra bulk. I have used LifeProof and it works with a bulk about that of the Defender and good sound. However the plastic clear back is very prone to scratching. Do not know much about the OBEX except that the phone had to be placed in the case just right to get decent sound quality and it is the only high dollar waterproof case with an optional holster.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Haven't used the otterbox but have the nuud right now and bought but sold the seidio. The obex was decently good but huge in all dimensions, and it is extremely picky about installing it. If you don't do it exactly right it will screw up your sound both receiving and sending voice. I love the lifeproof nuud, you can't beat no screen protector along with being waterproof. It's not nearly as bulky as the obex, the only con is the back will get scratched up eventually, it's clear plastic. Great thing is the rear is all soft touch rubber so it's really easy to hold and it has rubber feet so when you put it down it won't slide.
So yeah, between obex and nuud I'd say without a doubt nuud. Seems like if you want completely bombproof go otterbox but it's a lot bigger than the lifeproof.

There is an optional screen protector included with the nuud that is specifically cut to fit with the case. This can be helpful because if the screen protector ever scratches up badly enough you can remove it. However I do not know if you can buy them separately from LifeProof.

I am currently using the Lifeproof Nüüd on my SGS3. Been using it for a couple of months now and quite pleased with it. Good protection and it all seems good. I am often out in the bush and the risk of getting a wet phone is allways there. This one has kept my phone safe and has rescued it when I by accident has dropped it on concrete floors at work several times too. It do not build out much and the phone fits in the pocket of my jeans.
I have both the nuud and the otterbox. For me being in the cost guard I take the otter with me. When I'm home I go case less.

I got the obex as soon as i could get it after getting my S3 in May of 2012. I felt naked without it for 2 weeks without it after having the combo case on my Evo 4G. With that cane and with my obex I do not even look at the phone when dropping it on concrete. I just pick it up and snap it into the belt clip. I can't live without the belt clip and do not care how dorky someone may think I look.
The obex does have to be put on correctly or as mentioned you will suffer either on your end but more likely on the other end when someone is trying to hear you. Place the bottom of the phone in first and press there and toward the top until seated. I got used to the size long ago as I only keep it on the belt clip even if I am just wearing my skivvies. Plus, you can beat someone to death with it if needed.
I really need some advice, I usually swear by OtterBox but they have of course not released any cases for the 10 and if you listen to them they say that they don't have it in their plans. So my question is what is the best case I get as an alternative to an OtterBox? I'm looking for something with a similar level of protection. I tried the unicorn beetle pro but I don't like it because there's plastic on the back of the case that makes it very slippery when placed on a surface, I miss the grip that the OtterBox had on the back of the case. Also I need a belt clip.
I just ordered one of these

What worries me however is that cheap price
What recommendations do you guys have? Thank you so much in advance

The Amazon side seems to be unavailable already...
Well, I'm an otterbox fan too. Sad there are no news about an otterbox for the 10. Check out the specific thread about cases... Just found something similar to Otterbox there...
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Full-...etle htc 10&qid=1462899739&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
Maybe that will cover our needs until there will be an otterbox in the future.
I ordered also an Incipio dual pro case, which is really nice but not so good like otterbox. I still don't have the device.. But the cases
What I can't recommend is oeago double layer case... Ordered that too, but this is really hard plastic and I guess the device will get scratches easily with that one.
Edit... Just reread your post ... Didn't saw your review about the Unicorn... Just ordered that one... So you don't recommend it?

Only thing I would recommend you do is remove the screen protector from the case (it's just held on with glue) that way you can use whatever protector you choose. These cases are WAY better than Otterboxes.
i have the unicorn beetle ( above post links) its just a good as a otter box you will not be disappointed. best case I found for the 10 so far imo
In my original post I said that I have already tried that case
I tried the unicorn beetle pro but I don't like it because there's plastic on the back of the case that makes it very slippery when placed on a surface, I miss the grip that the OtterBox had on the back of the case

I had high hopes for that case but unfortunately it's not as good as it appears to be

Weird question, but can you put the phone in the belt clip with the screen facing out?
Hopefully that works, second question does it hold well?

The belt clip holds absolutely fine, I'm pretty sure that you can put the phone in the case either way but I think it's specifically designed to be put in with the screen facing inward. The only complaint I have the back of the phone is not 100% all silicone. The back of the case has hard plastic on it that makes it slide across surfaces very easily
It's worth mentioning that the phone does not clip into the belt holster as firmly as OtterBox's do, I think it's pretty clear that the case is considered a clone. Be careful because I would say that if you drop the phone from more than about maybe 10 feet in the air it may pop out of the belt clip

I would but unfortunately I do not have the case anymore, I returned it this morning out of frustration. As good as they try to be the sad truth is there is just no replacement for an OtterBox. I guess this is just the consequence of buying a phone so early, I'm hoping that within the next few months OtterBox releases a defender series Case for this phone, as soon as they do I'm all all over it
I'll try to explain as best I can, the belt clip on the beetle does not snap in, it is more of a friction fit I'm almost certain that you can put the phone in with the screen facing outward however when you do you will have to touch the screen with your fingers in order to get it out of the belt clip. The case is really a knockoff of the OtterBox defender, I had high hopes for it when I ordered it as well and despite the fact that I tried to get myself to like it I just couldn't
it says it will damage it if you do it face forward. waiting for jcase to return my phone so couldn't try it

You really returned it because it would slide around on it's back? Are you usually on a boat or something that would cause things that are laying on a flat surface to slide around on their own cause I honestly don't understand why that would be an issue, but in the past there would be pads of TPU on the corners of the phone so it would never have been able to do something like that.
Anyway, if a belt clip wasn't so important I would recommend Supcase's Unicorn Beetle Hybrid case (once it finally comes out) It's the other's little brother and is my absolute go-to for my past 4 or so devices. It is similar to the UAG cases, but they look and feel much better.
To be honest the protection that your case and the Otterbox offers is complete overkill. Btw, I absolutely hate the rubber material that Otterbox uses... talk about junk.

I understand your point of view don't get me wrong. Yes I really returned it because it would slide around on its back, I need a casecase with some kind of grip. I don't go on a boat or anything but I'm in a wheelchair and I've had several instances where things started sliding around whenever I'm doing what I need to do. To be honest I've been using OtterBox's for so long that I've gotten used to them. I know where you're coming from when you talk about the silicone but to be honest I've never had any issue with OtterBox giving me a hard time about replacing it for me when need be
Some people consider the protection that an OtterBox defender offers as being overkill but I remember back in 2015 I accidentally ran over my OtterBox and I'll tell you what after that I was convinced that the case had just paid for itself, I had to get a new one because the case was broke but the phone was completely fine
