Unknown notification - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I keep getting this unknown symbol that is a app i recently downloaded leaving me unwanted advertisements. Im looking for an app that will be able to tell me which downloaded app is leaving the unwanted advertisements.
I use to have one but deleted it long time ago.

Also, Lookout's Ad Network Detector

AirPush is what I use too.
I am curoius to know which app is doing it though. When you find out, please come back here and let us know. AFAIK Google did away with push notifications a few months ago. At least that is what I thought (but my tin foil hat still hasme have AirPush installed).

IOS apps do this all the time. Unsure why those users put up with it. It's obnoxious.

Wrappio???

I received a notification in the status bar to upgrade to the newest market. I clicked on it and was taken to a site I had never heard of before - wrappio.com. After looking at the site and reading some stuff online it looks like borderline spyware / spam to me. Needless to say I am not too happy about it. I have not installed any suspect .apk files and only downloaded apps from the market. I am running Juggs 4.1 along with the ICS theme / Darkside theme.
Can anyone tell me where this might have come from?
Thanks, in advance.
I see that type of issue alot with my customers that stop into the store. Download lookout or avg. One of your apps is causing that issue it happened to me with mp3 download pro. All kinds of odd notifications were popping up.

The app didn't find anything for me. I am having the same issue. The wrappio thing wanted my phone number and I stupidly provided it.

Same thing with me but I was able to use Addon Detectors app from the market and that was able to detect the app, it was bloat freezer for me that had the air push ads... Uninstalled it, problem solved.

Thanks. It was Bloat freezer-free. I will just stick with Titanium to freeze my apps.

Friggin' Bloat Freezer. I've had it for a long time too. It just started the Wrappio push recently.

Getting notification spam

Does anyone recognize this notification icon? It a blue "+". I started getting this a couple of days ago and don't know where it came from. Trying to figure out how to get rid of it.
Edit: nevermind.. Looks like it was part of an app that's a knock-off of Cut the Rope called Feed your Dino. Saw it in the market and just wanted to see how badly it ripped off Cut the Rope. Very poor graphics and glitchly touch responses. And it gives those spam notifications.
I think its from an app that is pushing ads to you. Get Air Push detector from the market, will tell you which one.
Got this from a lightning skull live wallpaper as well, this is a pain.Is there a way to stop it and keep the app and not just find it?
Try this. Don't know if it works.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.byq.airblocker
There's an ad blocker that blocks airpush crap like that blue + gimme a sec and ill get you the name and update the post
Edit: Airblocker on the Play Store/Market, it works on GB and ICS been using it for a while since I had a game I liked that slammed me with that crap 2x an hr or so

Yes, airblocker works great. I keep it installed.

Thanks. i'll try the air blocker. But as soon as I uninstalled Feed My Dino, the notification disappeared and hasn't been back.
Edit: Air push detector says it's clean. I'm sure it was Feed By Dino doing it.

I think I got malware or a app triggering notification ads.

I am getting two ads a day in my Notification Bar. It's odd because I don't download anything from the market that looks suspicious. I also read the comments for everything I download. Does anyone know of a way I can figure out what app is pushing these ads or if there is a app that will scan my phone for malware?

It's probably just some ad sponsored app. Just get AdAway and all your problems are solved.

Get airpush from playstore it will tell you what app is causing it
sent via galaxy s3 on jelly bean
If you find the offending app, you can opt out of their push notifications via a website depending what company is pushing the spam on you. I honestly forget which company it was ... you'll have to go to the playstore and find the offending app and check out the description. I know one of them had instructions on how to opt out.
Wont work for all of them, but you might get lucky.
There is also an airpush opt out app in the playstore as well.

Is my phone infected with spyware?

Hello All,
I started to get advertisements under my "notification" bar. Sometimes I would get a notification, and it is like advertising for something, and when I click on it, it attempt to access the webpage ( which I declined to continue). Is the fact that i'm getting these advertisements mean that my phone is infected with spywares? if so how do i get rid of them?
thanks

Most likely you installed a app that has advertisements some have google apps and some have ones that pop up in your notification area other then it being annoying its not necessarily spyware, find the app and uninstall it and your problem will be solved
Our you can install Rom toolbox pro from the market and block every type of ad everywhere

Get airpush detector like the other post said. Thing about these apps that use those kinds of ads also like to thro shortcuts on your homescreen and browser. Everyone hates these apps so rather than block em, i prefer to uninstall them and not use that devs stuff again till they get the point!

Quick question relating to ads... Some come as txt. Rarely do but I get some. Any advice with those?

I think theres an sms blocker app thats supposed to be good at stopping those. Never had a need for it but have seen it mentioned a few times.
In the upcoming jb, this feature is built in.

Chinese SMS spam. Please help remove!

For the past few days i have been receiving fake sms notification in chinesse, see photo below. I have downloaded a few apps to help me detect the spammer (Airpush Detector and Lookout) but none can locate the malware. how can i locate this son of a gun??
Thanks!
Uninstall the last couple of apps you've installed. Seems to me that you installed an app that is offering third party advertising. Its happened to me a couple times before. Usually this advertising info is available if you completely read the app notes in the Play Store.
From what I can see, it looks like an airpush ad. Try downloading airpush detector from the market, it'll scan your phone & identify the offending app.

Airpush was the first app I downloaded but it picked up nothing. I just deleted most of recently downloaded apps.

Try some of the other airpush detecting apps.
Ive tried all airpush detection apps on Google play store with no success. It appears xda is no match for this spyware. Thanks for contributing. Off I go to learn Mandarin and find the source.

Let's make sure all our t's are crossed and our i's are dotted here shall we?
Are you rooted?
Is your device status "Modified" and do you care about that?
What ROM are you running?
Have you poked around in /data to see if there were any suspicious apps in there?
Otherwise, assuming this malware has root access, it may be wiser to just flash your ROM again with either Odin or CWM.
I'm getting the same thing. Havent nailed down what it is yet.
I had the same thing but I am on stock unrooted. What I did is I long pressed on the notofication and it gave me thw option of "app info". I just hit that and ir pulled up that menu. Just clicked on disable notofocations and all isbright with the world once again!
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
Can't you long press on the notification and get information on which app placed it in the notification area?
I didn't know we could do that I will try holding the notification and checking app info got once the message appears again, which will be tonight a round 1145pm et. thanks
