Wrappio??? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I received a notification in the status bar to upgrade to the newest market. I clicked on it and was taken to a site I had never heard of before - wrappio.com. After looking at the site and reading some stuff online it looks like borderline spyware / spam to me. Needless to say I am not too happy about it. I have not installed any suspect .apk files and only downloaded apps from the market. I am running Juggs 4.1 along with the ICS theme / Darkside theme.
Can anyone tell me where this might have come from?
Thanks, in advance.

I see that type of issue alot with my customers that stop into the store. Download lookout or avg. One of your apps is causing that issue it happened to me with mp3 download pro. All kinds of odd notifications were popping up.

The app didn't find anything for me. I am having the same issue. The wrappio thing wanted my phone number and I stupidly provided it.

Same thing with me but I was able to use Addon Detectors app from the market and that was able to detect the app, it was bloat freezer for me that had the air push ads... Uninstalled it, problem solved.

Thanks. It was Bloat freezer-free. I will just stick with Titanium to freeze my apps.

Friggin' Bloat Freezer. I've had it for a long time too. It just started the Wrappio push recently.

Talk about irony

My phone got hacked remotely help

I have evo running cm7 someone hacked my phone they got my txt msgs and forwarded them. I always have my phone. How can I find out how they did this and how can I prevent this.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
OK, well it really isnt possible to remotly hack a phone unless you installed an app that let somebody do this. So, two questions, what have you installed recently, and how do you know somebody hacked your phone?
Well really nothing and I also get 10 to 15 blocked calls a day I have Mr number blocker installed to block these but somehow some get through to my voicemail. The messages were saved and the whole thread was forwarded. Also pictures get forwarded and phone makes calls by itself
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Sounds weird.
Full wipe and/or factory reset just to be safe. Probably not a good idea to use any backups from the infected rom.
LBE Security is an app for free on the market.
It'll prompt you if an untrusted app tries to do anything malicious like that.
Swyped from my Htc Evo using XDA App.
How does he know that they were forwarded.... probably someone was messing with your phone
With adb you can use the following to find out what all is running, whatever is doing it should show up on there
Code:
adb shell ps
I always keep my phone on me. I know they were forwarded because my ex got pic and messages and I did not send them thanks guys

check your apps through TB or manage apps and see what is all on your phone, maybe your ex or someoene installed something on your phone to forward texts.. i had a ex try and install a app on my phone (cant remeber its name), this app was suppose to be hidden and only accessable by hiting some numbers on the dial pad and hitting send.. But i noticed right away somethign was weird in my phone (it was acting real slow) and i looked in applications and manage apps and found it and uninstalled it..
Looked at my apps, saw nothing weird

If you're on of those people who believe your phone can get hacked I'd suggest lookout security or avg free antivirus to ease your mind.
Yea, I find it hard to believe someone hacked your phone JUST to send pictures to your ex girlfriend. Are you sure you didnt get drunk and send them yourself? Or let your friend borrow the phone?
I don't drink and its happening well thanks anyway I guess I wont find a solution here

Are you sure someone didn't sign in to your Sprint picture mail acct online? I think they can forward from there. Also if you always use the same password, they can dial your number and access your vm and forward them etc

Ghost international text messages

Does anyone know of any apps that may send international text messages to south korea. I noticed a charge on my bill and I started checking to see they went back to october. Sprint says they can't tell what the number is and I have downloaded several permissions apps from the market and the ones setup to send sms don't seem like apps that would be doing this. The charges aren't expensive but not knowing what is in these ghost texts has me worried. Thinking about odin back to stock and starting fresh. Anyone have any suggestions.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
you might want to download a virus checker; maybe even odin/heimdall to start from scratch.
sounds like some funky stuff (technical term) got on your phone
Maybe your phone was texting home....isn't that where Samsung is? LOL.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Do u have an antivirus installed? If not, that's recommended. And have thought of trying google voice app?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Have used lookout, avg, and a few others all saying clean. I uninstalled most apps that reported text. Guess its time to odin again. Thanks for your responses. I was hoping someone might have ran into this before but I only found one other instance on the web through a sprint forum.

Use this one...it is fantastic..I use this one. Zoner antivirus. Its completely free...and trust me it works. Lookout is garbage
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I was trying to idownload a zip file once, and zoner wouldn't let me...cuz it was an exploit. After I disables zoner, I was able to do it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Zoner did pick up my gingerbreak.apk I had stored on the sdcard as a threat where everything else didn't. Thanks for the suggestion

What ROM is this (doesn't make a difference unless it's a pre-installed app's ads)? I had this happen with a lyric app I installed, just used rom toolbox to block ads
Look in google play for Airpush Detector. It will single out any apps that are pushing spam to the notification bar.

Using Macnut r1. Just started getting them, though. I'll try that app. Thanks.

I am confused as to why this is even allowed to run and you have to "opt out" of it? - I know google is an advertising company but they have never been suck dicks about adds in the past so why allow this to run on your platform
this is total crap, anyone who uses airpush should just go off and die in a field somewhere
here is an idea, how about I have a store and I give out free samples but after you have eaten it you find out from other people that there is poison in the sample and that you should have "opted out" of the poison - I dont have to say that there is poison in there before you eat it and if you ask me I dont even have to answer but now you have to get the antidote from someone else if you even know about the poison until you feel sick - you cant remember what is causing you to be sick seeing as you ate a few things (installed a few apps) and one of them is causing problems for you - now you have to figure out using something from someone else (airpush detector) and cure your problem
Some go launcher themes also cause them to pop up just an fyi

I think I got malware or a app triggering notification ads.

I am getting two ads a day in my Notification Bar. It's odd because I don't download anything from the market that looks suspicious. I also read the comments for everything I download. Does anyone know of a way I can figure out what app is pushing these ads or if there is a app that will scan my phone for malware?

It's probably just some ad sponsored app. Just get AdAway and all your problems are solved.

Get airpush from playstore it will tell you what app is causing it
sent via galaxy s3 on jelly bean
If you find the offending app, you can opt out of their push notifications via a website depending what company is pushing the spam on you. I honestly forget which company it was ... you'll have to go to the playstore and find the offending app and check out the description. I know one of them had instructions on how to opt out.
Wont work for all of them, but you might get lucky.
There is also an airpush opt out app in the playstore as well.

Done. But no use. 2 more screenshots..
I have had the same annoying pop-up ads that looked like this "your Android memory is too low, please clean it up" or something like that, when I pressed "OK" button I just was redirected to "Du Booster" app. So Ad-blocking app is your friend, and for me the best is Adaway.:good:
I had these starting yesterday. I just had to restore my phone to a backup in the end. I got rid of lots of apps and the aware ones didn't find anything

Yes... I am trying to do the same .. but unable to find the app that is causing it .. most of my apps installed are from reviews from top Android forums and few games only.
I have uninstalled almost 10 apps in suspicion .. but still can't trace the culprit.
Hurray... Finally got hold of the culprit.
It was named com.scloud.... (Didn't remember the full name)
Initially thought it was system app but when going thru all suspicious names found that there is an option to uninstall which is not available for sys apps.
After I installing it alk these ads are gone.
