[Q] gf's htc one x screen has gone yellow - HTC One X

Hello, as above really, her screen has a yellow streak advertise the charger edge of screen.
3 mobile have offered to look at it and/or replace it.
Is flashing the factory 3uk ruu sufficient ??? Its rooted cos she hated the default software.
Thanks for any advice.

Yes, flashing the ruu would take the phone back to full stock. However, after relocking the bootloader, the bootloader will say ***Relocked*** So chances of warranty being void are still there!
Well lets hope for the best! Just make sure you run the correct RUU!

Thank u so mutch u help.

I don't think you can go all the way back to stock.
You can load back the stock ROM but your bootloader will remain unlocked which puts you into the grey warranty area with HTC.
The development section has link to almost all stock ROMs. Check the stickies there.
so i lost all my warrenty but you can relock you bootlaoder so htc dont see it and have youre warrety back or ?

Since you are using HTCDev they have you're information logged. There is noway to relock the bootloader, at least yet. That's what, I think, everyone is scrambling for S-OFF.
You are still covered for somewhat under warranty. From reading these forums it seems that HTC will make you pay for the motherboard during any warranty claims because they say their policies state that they "cannot send you back an unlocked phone". Even though a lot of devs here feel they could relock the phone using software, that is what HTC has been quoting people.
A quick anonymous call/email to HTC should remove the confusion for you.
Here's another thread. You can go back and relock the boot loader. But it will say "relocked" not the original "locked". Not sure what HTC thinks about that.

[Q] How to relock bootloader so it seems to be untampered?

Hi guys,
After rooting my phone and installing some roms, my phone has decided to randomly stop working sometimes.
I received my phone in July so I still have warranty, but I can only send it back if HTC think I have not tampered with my phone.
I have looked at a thread on how to return to stock and RELOCK hboot, however HTC will be able to see this, and I would like to know if it is possible to relock hboot but just make it say LOCKED, as a new phone?
You can't without S-OFF, and S-OFF is impossible at the moment.

all you can do is relock the bootloader, and pray for the best. if your sending your phone in for anything apart from motherboard issues you will be fine.

Ok thanks
But the problem is that the screen won't always turn on, which I think could be related to software or hardware. Just after wiping and flashing a new rom, everything works perfectly, but then a day later, screen problems appear. Do you know what this is caused by?
my phone's friend is the same. i think you must send to HTC to repair .
Htc One **TAMPERED**
I was just wondering, I have the HTC ONE/ M7 and I was trying to root it but was never successful. I unlocked it with the HTCDev website and installed GOO on my phone but thats about as far as I got. Now my phone shows **TAMPERED** and **UNLOCKED** in the HBOOT menu, I was just curious as to how I would get those to go away.
THANKS!
This is the one x forum... Go to the m7 forum...
You can not change that status if you have a s-on M7...

[Q] Urgent Need to revert back to stock for warranty service

Ok so I have installed arhd and want to revert back to stock for warranty service
I made a Nandroid backup before unlocking the bootloader
Please guide me through the process
specs:-
cid-11111111
hboot-1.36
s-off
U can't get completely to stock. You have to install your main version RUU after locking the bootloader, but u will face the problem where the bootloader says 'relocked' instead of 'locked'
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
So will I be able to get warranty service or not
I don't think so dude.

Can anyone else confirm this fact?
You can easily return to stock and run any ruu because you have s-off
with s-off you can also LOCK the bootloader instead of relocked, so lock it and send it for warranty
Depends on what is the problem with Your HOX. If they need to replace Your motherboard then You gonna pay for it. HTC official policy... I'm from Poland and I sent it for repair 3 times. Everytime they needed to replace motherboard. And they did it two times even with relocked bootloader (don't know why, maybe they always repair phones with broken autorotation? common issue with hox. coz it was the case with first and second repair). 3rd time I got problem with screen backlight and bang - ~$300 . I tried contacting with HTC Poland and HTC Taiwan but same answer. If bootloader was unlocked and motherboard needs to be replaced You need to pay for it. Any other issue with any other part and they fix it for free. So hard to tell really. You may be lucky What is Your issue with HOX? You may also consider burning down the motherboard... They will not be able to tell if You had bootloader unlocked... But it's kinda cheating... I just read somewhere that some dude did it and they replaced his motherboard for free

Can you explain how to lock bootloader
I have a nandroid backup can I use that for restoring my phone
Please explain
Thanks for everyone that helped really appreciate all replies
And I just realized that putting "urgent" in my title of the thread does not mean that my question is more important than others
Any help will be appreciated
An s-off hox also can show relocked only.

[Q] How can reset or clear Relocked flag on bootloader

Hi everyone,
I have a One X with S-OFF .
How can I reset Relocked flag.
I hate to see "Relocked" on bootloader.
You cannot get rid of it, any way you never see it. How often do you enter recovery.
Sent from my fingers
at least twice a day
Does not anybody know?
can i replace the "mmcblk0p4" block with "locked" mmcblk0p4 block from another One x ? What happens if I try..
Is Relocked flag in this block?
Save yourself a brick and live with relocked......
thanks for your reply
maybe, i save myself a brick but don't live with relocked......:crying:
because, bluetooth does not work. I need to send the phone for service. but it was out of warranty.
i think.. maybe fix it and re-covered by warranty.
I guess I'm wrong.
The only s-off phones that successfully got the bootloader back to locked were bricked to the max.
my HOX is already S-OFF.
Once the RUU is installed, but it did not resolve.
There can be phones like the ONE XL or ONE m7
Why can not the ONE X.
I know the processor is different. but still must be a way
Please read carefully. The phones that had s-off and wanted to lock the bootloader got BRICKED ! a ruu does not lock the bootloader.
It's because of the tegra crap !.
ok. I understood.
Yeah sowwy
I am back to S-ON and I will send phone to service.
and when it comes back to sell it.
and an even more stay from tegra.

Relocked Flaf remove
Hello Guys! I would like to overwrite the flag relocked to locked on my HTC. My H.One no longer has any trace of root, boot recovery is the original factory and the current state of HTC's S-ON. Everything perfect! Original RUU factory, no bug, it's all right. My only fear is not guaranteed to be valid, for the simple fact that the bootloader be "relocked". How can I override this? Without changing the S-On to S-Off?

[Q] Stock everything but S-OFF. Still under warranty?

No joke I was sitting on my computer desk with my phone in front of me and I hear a sharp "DINK" and look down and saw my phone was cracked. Needless to say I was rather upset because I treat this phone very well.
I found there is a free one time screen replacement and I sent in for that but if the phone is root at all they will not fix it without charging you the full price even though root has nothing to do with the damn screen cracking.
I have gone back to full stock img and bootloader but want to keep S-OFF as other have recommended they keep it that way.
Does anyone know if S-OFF voids my warranty?

I'm from europe and s-off didn't void my warranty. Go back to stock and leave it s-off. Just lock bootloader...

So you are recommending to flash the "recovery.img" and then lock the bootloader using ADB?
Or would you recommend trying to find the full firmware for sprint and flashing that and then locking the bootloader and uninstalling SuperSU?
Thank you,

Origenal firmware, stock recovery, stock rom, no supercid but your region cid. Everything Stock and then lock your bootloader, after that uninstall superSU.
