Stock MMS that supports all emoji - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Wanted to know if there is or if somebody can make/modify a stock MMS apk that supports all 876 unicode emoji characters. I running the latest NoWizAOSPMod and it has the stock MMS but it only supports about 471 natively.

Yeah. I know it sounds like a lot but its only half when compared to all the ones that IOS & Hangouts can use/see.

its actually already in the system
download kii keyboard and install the emoji support from settings and then hold the 123 button bottom left corner and go the smiles button and there you go emojis they also work for facebook and instagram and others apps ... has swype feature to enable it if not already..:good:

this is awesome!
is there a way I can theme it in dark?

You can try this, it will replace the Samsung Messenger with the aosp mms themed dark with bubbles, with working group messaging and emojis. Works great when messing people with iPhones
http://d-h.st/Ewh
This will also erase all your current texts so make a back up if you care.

The color bubbles on this are horrid. Lol But it works nicely. I wish there were just white and grey convo bubbles or something.

Haha yeah, when I get home I'll change that and upload it. It's not a hard thing to change, two images and then probably the text color.
What color do you want the text and bubbles?

this is just the app, won't erase anything but will only work if you still have the previously uploaded one, with the 'bad' colors. This is the same background, just changed the received bubble to grey and the sent to white and the text to black for the messages.

no problem! If you ever want to change the colors or anything it is fairly simple, use an apktool found all over on xda, along with guides to use them, the framework to use would be the one in the first zip, after the mms.apk is decompiled, the bubbles are /res/drawable-xhdpi/ hairline_left.9.png and hairline_right.9.png. The one pixel black lines and dots on the outside edges of the images are where the image expands and stuff, so make sure they stay there or you'll get errors when compiling. I use paint.net to edit them. For the text color, the hex values are found in a few places, like /res/values/colors.xml and /res/layout/message_list_item_recv.xml, and send. It just takes some time playing around with the stuff to get it to look how you want.

Thank you sir. I did mess with doing some of this a while back. Changed my clocks to black etc on my evo and evo 3d. But my laptop took a dump at Xmas and I just never repaired it. :/
That being said, I had bad issues sending mms. They would constantly hang or not send even after waiting like 30 plus minutes. I had this happen trying a ROM running aosp mms app as well. Maybe it's just my phone. But thank you so much.

If you use Google voice, that may have a negative affect. I had to disable it and then get the lite version that just handles voice mail enabled to fix my mms and emoji issues

People App!

ICS introduced a new contact app, the People App.
It is a very nice app, but there is one thing that I hate about it.
The white backgroung color!
Why white while most of the rest UI are black?
So, is there anyone who can change it? Probably with root ...
I remember there is that Facebook black or something. I assume it can also be done with this People App ...
The Nexus can be rooted (see MoDaCo for howto). Go do that and upload the people.apk file here, I'll see if I can help.
Please do this for Galaxy S2....
When I go into contacts, mine is already black background, this is contacts, not people though.

I could actually see emojis in the stock messenger, and throughout the system by changing the fonts in the system files..... but they appear white and black, but through CM9s apk messenger they could be seen in color and I'll prefer that .
Edit: to JayRokk I prefer the stock ics look thats why im looking for this alternative I would rather not download alternatives like gosms or hand cent =\

cm10 mms with theme engine and quick reply

Ive been running the cm10 MMS with theme engine and quick reply where you can change almost every aspect of the MMS apk. You can change different color of text for sent/recv, different bubble style, change background, etc. The only problem is it would force close when sending a picture mms.
I extracted the CM10 mms apk from justunbean inverted final 4.1.2 package to test out on the nexus 4 and its been running very well besides the mentioned issue with sending a picture.
has anyone else tried this? just want to know if anyone know what else needs to be done to have picture send successfully.

Can you guys point me to where you are getting the apk/zip for this.

[Themed App] Mms.apk 4.3- V2 Dark and Holo Blue & V3 Bubbles w/no Avatar

This is a stock AOKP 4.3 messaging app themed. The original version with gray panels has been discontinued. Version two has clear conversation list panels that expose the stock gradient background themed with Holo Blue. Version three adds outline bubbles that match the text color and has the avatars removed. They include Emoji, quick reply, breathing sms notification, strip unicode, enter for a new line, and custom user agent. No popup with the quick reply, quick reply is accessible thru the notification dropdown. HO versions have alternate Hangouts smileys in place of the stock droid ones. These are only tested on my Nexus 4 that is running 4.3 stock deodexed JWR66Y build. If you have success with a different rom, please post it. Don't forget to hit the thanks button if you like.
Disclaimer- As always, do a nandroid backup before flashing/installing. I take no responsibility for any issues. Flash at your own risk.
Updates
8/12 - Initial release - version 1
8/13 - Icon change, avatar placeholder change, attachment png fix, fixed gray on gray text with searching contacts when composing new message, fixed black on dark gray text when deleting conversation
8/14 - Themed smileys to holo blue, fixed black on black text when adding subject, increased max message size, changed phone number text to white when searching contacts, slightly darkened unread panel and changed date to white in conversation list for better visual appearance
8/15 - Removed white frame around mms in conversation panel, darkened active send button.
8/16 - Changed sender name/number in the quick reply box to holo blue.
9/06 - Themed widget added
9/11 - Version 2 added. Changed to clear conversation list panels that show the dark holo gradient background, a nicer visual appearance for those that like darker. Update only if you want both the conversation list and message list showing the gradient background.
9/17 - Version 1 discontinued. Version 2 updated - Changed received text color to pure white within quick reply for better visibility. Changed icons to white within dropdown when choosing attachment type. Removed the return to sleep when replying from lockscreen option in the settings menu since it is non functional with the JWR build. New and better screenshots added. Updating is recommended for anyone using this.
9/18 - Fix added for background of group participants list when receiving a group message. Picture frame added for pics received and sent within the messages panel. Theming is complete and this will be final unless someone spots a needed fix and brings it to my attention.
9/24 - Minor update. Fixed bad code by default for the Heart smiley that did not allow it to display properly when sending and receiving <3. Also took the opportunity to theme the pressed color around the recently added picture frame for a better match.
10/5 - Minor update to V2 - finalized. Lock indicator for messages changed to white for better visibility. V3 added. This is a bubble version, based off of V2, which provides matching outline bubbles and has the avatars removed.
10/9 - Fix for V3. Removed the bubble showing when viewing the group participants list for messages that are group messages.
10/14 - Minor fix for V3. Heart smiley fix added to V3.
10/26 - V2 & V3 apks with alternate Hangouts smileys uploaded. Note, these are only alternate smileys in place of the stock droid ones, not the entire set of emojis. See screenshots.
Installation
1) Flash the zip file in recovery or
2) Extract and push the Mms apk to system/app (remove and backup your current Mms.apk). Set permissions if needed.
* If using a odexed rom, you need to rename/remove the mms odex file.
Thanks to rustyjay for the apk.
Thanks to UBER for his tutorial and his bubble pngs.
Thanks a lot, it's a nice start! However, I noticed that the background in conversations looks like the dialer's and, in my opinion, that's how the main window background should look like. That grey doesn't look so good, in my opinion. Of course, I would have preferred a black background for everything, even for the top/bottom panels but it's a Holo Grey so I respect your decision
Personally I like it. Nice change, keep up the good work.

I still want to do some changes with the top and bottom panels. They are untouched at this point. I'm liking the top panel black and thinking the bottom would look good black also. I'm working on trying to get transparency in the list screen, but otherwise I may change the shade of gray to match the panels better. Most of the theming I have done is the easier stuff. I did it all yesterday and today. Progress will be at a slower pace now.

Did you make a backup copy of your previous MMS apk, as instructed in the op? I'm not sure what is stock for you, as I don't know what rom you are running. If you didn't make a backup copy, you could always pull a copy from the rom zip and push it to system or make a flashable zip.

Layouts and images for sview stuff are in framework-res.apk - that being said, it looks like there is only one image that is used for the "wallpaper", and it then is programatically colorized when you do the background picking...
As far as the guts that run it all - that can all be found in android.policy.jar. Happy hunting!
