Hello.
I cound't find LG E975 section so i thought that i will ask a few questions here
I want to buy LG Swift G E975 but i heard it has problems with Snapdragon S4 Pro throttling. It's something about high temperatures but device isn't even warm. Some say that is made with purpose to lower performance of the CPU. But anyway. Here are the questions:
1. Is there CyanogenMod fo LG Swift G E975?
2. Does it solve a problem with throttling?
3. Or maybe i should buy Galaxy S3 black (poor quality plastic )?
Big thx for answers
First of all: wrong forum, you should have used the Q&A forum.
Now back to the questions:
1. Yes there is, in fact I'm using it right now
2. Don't know anything about throttling, but didn't found any performance or heat problems yet
3. If you want to root your phone and install custom ROMs, I would go for Optimus G, because there are no sources or chip specs for Galaxy S3 - this makes custom ROM development very hard, and some features are impossible to implement without it. Also LGOG has better hardware
LG seems to be better made and all
I'm talking about this.

It's from polish website that tested this LG.
Warning says:
"You can't increase brightness because temperature is too high. Try later"
And you can clearly see it in heavy tests where CPU slows down. My little hope is that its limiter is taken off.
PS
We are talking about this phone:
http://pclab.pl/zdjecia/artykuly/miekrzy/lgswiftg/fotki/skos_gora.jpg
There are few versions i see. I don't want any mistakes
It heats up fairly quick, but cools down really slow if you leave it alone for a minute or so.
Also that temperature warning is for the better as there is countless posts of people ruining their battery by the temperature frying it.

IMO the heat is a problem, even on the simplest things like browsing the Internet or watch videos on youtube makes it hot very fast. But i have it and i like it.

Try Eco Mode. Heating is less and you dont notice any stutter in performance when just browsing and viewing videos.

I was thinking about switching to the GN from my atrix once the ROM development picks up so I have a little bit more of a choice, but I was wondering right now how battery life is. How long does the battery last for and how heavily do you use it? Also it might be helpful if you post any gripes about the phone too. I've heard it has a yellowish tint, but people said that about the atrix as well and I never saw it.

I dont have the nexus yet, but dont expect atrix battery life. Thats for damn sure. I just hope it can make it through a whole day, though realistically ill prolly be charging at the end of my work day on my way home from work and i can live with that. I just the sound chip is on par with the wolfson on the atrix. I didnt realize how good it was til i did some comparisons last night.

So far I've been getting around 20 hours I think, with moderate use.

There are a few threads on battery life already.
Depends entirely on the usage.
With relatively light usage including some browsing and some media playback + twitter/facebook/email/tweetdeck sync I got this after 1 day:

If you use high brightness levels and lots of screen time you can expect a lot less.

Sorry for making a new thread, I was in a hurry and didn't want to forget to ask.
But does anyone have anything bad to say about the phone? Besides quadrant being low, I don't care about that.

Hello everyone,
I just test Epic citadel a benchmark powered by Unreal engine and I would like to know your scores
Link to the app
http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epicgames.EpicCitadel
Here's my results F240L (Thermal throttling disabled):
High performance (very fluid)
42fps
Ultra high quality (laggy)
24fps
if you knew some optimizations to get better results I'm interested
58.1 on high performance.
55.7 on high quality.
29.6 on ultra high quality, 100% rendering.
Thermal throttling has not been touched and I have the cpu control turned on for better battery life.
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda app-developers app
This is mine
High Performance = 59,5
High Quality = 58,2
Ultra High Quality = 32,4
Why everyone tryes to creat gazillion new threads to fragment the forum instead of posting results in one neat thread? So to results will be easily compared between models and brands of smartphonemakers

Because a thread dedicated here is better I think
Well, before I bought F240 I tryed to find results of HTC Butterfly, Nexus4, Galaxy S4, HTC One, Optimus G to compare them with each other. I bothered to count days and week I spent searching that scattered pieces, frustrated and abandoned
With both settings turned off for thermal throttling, I experience no lag at all on ultra high resolution. It looks so good on this 1080p display. Especially on.Max brightness.
Good to hear! you are on a stock rom I guess
I will try to go back to see the difference
Yeah, I'm on stock rom. Now my scores weren't as good as some of the others posted. But with both thermals off, on ultra high resolution, I can navigate explore mode with no lag. With 100% rendered. Really amazing how good everything looks. Definitely a nice app to showcase performance and 1080p display.
I am really tempted by the Find 7a, it looks decent on paper but I am reading a lot of things that are putting me off, can owners comment on their severity or if they are indeed problems?
Bluetooth - lots of reports that it is flaky. I can't live with this. I need a solid handsfree connection in the car, and preferably solid audio out too. Is this a software problem or did they put crappy hardware in it?
Battery - plenty saying the battery drains like 30% overnight in standby. This is not good. Is it resolved in Color OS 2.x beta? Any better in CM?
Storage - oh man. Why did they do that? Way to cripple a phone.
ROMs - I know they are pretty open with an unlocked bootloader but I am not seeing much in the way of ROM development. It's pretty quiet over here and their forums aren't exactly buzzing with developers.
How is the state of CM11 on the 7a? Does it fix any of the issues mentioned above?
Any general comments on the handset? Is it worth the punt or in that price range better to go for something more established like a Nexus 5 or LG G2?
Thanks
C
I think I can answer all your questions as I'm involved with parts of the 7a third party development myself.
First off, the hardware is fine and top notch, all the things you read about are in software and resolved by installing nameless ROM (all of the things you mentioned).
The battery depletion overnight (8 hours) is about 3 to 4 percent on nameless ROM with Wi-Fi and 3g permanently on and NFC off.
The storage issue can be resolved by executing my partition tool which you can find on the official oppo forums together with the nameless ROM download.
As for your intention of using cm11, I would stay away from it, it takes forever to get things fixed on that and some things are still glitched on it.

Thanks @MrColdbird that is really useful info. Good to know the hardware isn't at fault.
Nameless ROM looks great and good to see some solutions to the crazy partitioning scheme. I assume you guys will be releasing Nameless for the OnePlus One too?! The One seems to have a minor hardware upgrade compared to the Find 7.
One last thing, I know it is personal preference but how do you find the size of the device, there is no getting away from the fact that it is pretty huge...?
Agreed about CM11 - they seem really slow at fixing things these days, perhaps they are trying to support too many devices and spreading themselves too thinly. They seem to fix one thing and break about a dozen more with each M release.
I got tab s few days ago. Its pretty amazing. Its rooted now and i got a 128gb sd in it the only thing is that I notice after some walking dead game it heats up pretty good on the top side of the back.
Anyone else got this problem?
It's not problem. That's where the GPU sits. This tablet is the thinnest on the market next to the Sony Xperia Z. You're going to expect some heat when playing graphic intensive games.
Expect it to heat up. The CPU/GPU needs to power a bright 2560x1600 display anyway.

Ok. Thanks
Same here, I've been trying to stress test my tablet to make sure it's not defective and noticed the same thing with the same game. I'm not too worried but keeping an eye out for warping swelling. So far so good.
Sent from my SM-T800 using XDA Free mobile app
If it's warm to the touch, it's should be fine. If it's hot and uncomfortable to hold then there's something wrong. It's been reported that some of these are defective.
To be fair Apple iPad can get pretty warm over long usages. Not hot but much warmer then my Tab S.
Try and track down the culprit, it's usually samsung.index.service that gets stuck indexing files on the sdcard, and can peg the cpu for days.
Use Gsam battery monitor, or a cpu task manager to keep an eye on various processes. You can use the included process manager in developer options to see what process is using all the CPU.
After playing gunner z

Strange, I've played Hearthstone the other day for about an hour, and no problems, but I see you have the LTE version , we have different chipsets and GPUs
Hello everyone, I just bought my G3 3 days ago. But the temperature seems bad for me.
The CPU temperature is between 54C and 68C in normal use (Facebook app, messenger) and it reaches 75C in heavy use (Shadow Fight 2, VR Games, screen brightness +80%, Google chrome). The battery is something cooler, but I think it is in bad situation too. Its temperature in normal use is between 36C and 38C and in heavy use it reaches 40C. What should I do?
- The apps I have used are (Antutu Benchmarks and CPU Temp).
- I did not make any changes in software or even hardware.
- My phone runs at Lollipop V5.0 OS.
- When the temperature of CPU reaches 70C, I can't make the brightness +90%.
- Sorry for my English.

no difference because it will happen the same on next phone, its a issue of the processor itself because the gap between the processor and the frame of phone! all stock LG G3 have this issue.
sure, you do what is the best for you, mine have only 2 months and i do this anyway...have no fear to loose the guarantee!
You should buy a portable console, maybe.
Noob. My G3 can be at 101ºC

you should also try using ctt thermal mod.root your device.istall twrp and flash that mod in twrp and you are good to go.i dont know how low temps you will get after that but it does help in lowering cpu temp.try it.
