Xpose is an app which gives you a lot of different choices you can make to decorate and customize your
phone like changing colors and styles of the battery, signal, wifi and clock icons in your status bar.
You can make pulldown notification bar different colors and even different degrees of transparent.
The colors of the toggle icons can also be changed to whatever you like and remove/hide icons.
You can also remove the entire status bar too.
There are ton's of other features and options similar to the ones I have described above, the list is long.
It's easy to use and you don't even need to go into cwm/twrp recovery to flash anything.
Morphology is the same idea as Xpose but it needs to be flashed like a rom.
It has all the customization features like Xpose does but it also includes full
themes to choose from as well as the option for the users to create their own
custom themes.
Good luck!
Should be worth noting that Xposed offers more possibilities outside of changing icons and themes. There are dozens of different "modules" which are essentially extensions to the Xposed framework that are a Google search away. And these let you do things like fooling the Play store about your location if you want a certain app that's not in your region, disabling the low battery pop up just to name a few.

Enhanced 236 is one of my favourite ROMs, with Xperiatized being a close second. I know of only 1 mod which applies some ICS-styling to the ROM. I think that mod makes the ROM looks a little less cartoon-ish in aspects such as the checkboxes. However I'd like to make some more visual mods but have no idea how to do so.
There are two things I'd like to change:
images used in the notification bar toggles;
notification bar indicators - WiFi, battery etc;
progress bar.
Can anyone point me to a guide on how to make these mods? I have tried UOT Kitchen in the last with no luck. In that instance I applied the mod I had made but didn't see any visual difference.
Well you could use Holo Launcher it changes most of the icons and stuff. And you can try taking Rom Toolbox from the playstore , from there you can easily change some system fonts with preview before applying , themes and such. And you can pick images for statusbar icons also. Good luck.
how to get toggles at the bottom instead of stock position.....
is there any mod for it ???
Hm, also interested.
Where did you get that screenshot btw?

You could try to ask on neatrom thread, there are a lot good moders there.
I will from my side have a look in bitfor. It must not be very complicated to achieve.

Kind of radical IMHO...
BTW, i just googled your request, and there are plenty of guide here on xda to do it. It is just one line to change in the statubar expanded xml in systemui.
If you are a little aventurous and curious you could do it yourself.
I 'm gonna try on monday on my rom.
Edit: on sammy rom, it seems that some smali mod are involved too.
Gonna try the first way, but i won't mess the smali code as it would break my theme.
actually i dont even knw abt codes....xml...editing... and all this stuff ....

I will try tomorrow. The way i will do it, if i am successfull, will be portable for you without coding.
In the meantime, look for xtheme engine thread. It is how i will try to do it.

Someone answered you on Neat thread (sometimes it can take time)
Here is the link to download the mod

It is for MS1 but should work on any post LSD rom too.
I highly encourage you to make a nandroid backup first though.

II checked the mod. There are a lot of differences in the systemui from that mod and the systemui from last neatrom. It could work on last neat but could also break other things, so i don't think it is a good idea to flash it other last neat.
And fot sure it won't work on Omega.
I am still trying to create a xposed theme for this.
For now i can compile it without errors but get FCs.
Two explanations : it isn't compatible with the theme i use (jb reloaded) as it involves lidroid, or the xtheme engine is "too much" limited for that kind of mods.
Tomorrow i will know.
EDIT: well i removed my theme and it works! The brightness bar is still on the upper part (but i think it is better, even removing it would be even better ) and i have to check the height of the quick panel...
Send me your systemui.apk, i will have a look to see if i can build one for you or switch to neatrom...
And if you could send me your systemui from your GS3 i could check how they did to have the glow effect when the panel reach the left or right of the screen as i don't have it right now.

Ok, let's see:
My mod is a complete mod that adds sense style manager to the ROM, also has transparency included in settings, removed brightness bar from dropdown menu (don't know why you say it's still there?) and send the toggles to the bottom of the dropdown bar. Also, I have removed notifications and ongoing title to get more room in the dropdown, got rid of letters and separator on toggles.
It won't work with other mods specially if that other mod has lidroid (23 toggles included) it can be applied to latest NeatROM 4.7 and it won't break anything, you can ask me about what I've done that I don't have problems helping people.

Hi Churapa,
Thanks for your answer, but there's a little misunderstanding here : I am not the OP, i just try to help by creating a xposed xtheme theme. I just pointed him on your mod as he gets an answer in NeatRom thread.
So my comments in the previous post was for my mod which only try to move the quick panel at the borrom - i don't touch the brightness bar code.
But concerning your mod, it looks like a complete replacement of sytemUI isn't it ? It doesn't seems to be a Vrtheme.
When i tried to decompile it, Apktool throw me a lot of errors but i could at least have a look at your moded tw_status_bar_expanded.xml. I just compared it with the original tw_status_bar_expanded from Neat 4.6.1 and (except the mod itself), the two xml diverge in some parts : it is why i said it could work, but could also break something (i didn't try it though).
Just a question : do you think it could be easy to make it works when using lidroid ?
Thanks again

I had a look at your systemUI. OMEGA is AOKP, but the touchwiz xml controlling the Quick Panel are implemented. I don't know if on your ROM they control the actual quicksetting, but we could try. If it doesn't work, well it will just FCs at worst.
So if you want to try my mod (not perfect yet, but at least we could see if it works for you), you will have to install Xposed Installer and the module which handle the theming : Xtheme Engine.
It's easy and safe, so no worries + you won't have to flash my mod : it will comes on top of your systemui.apk : so if it doesn't work, you just have to unload it and you will retrieve your original systemui.
Download and install Xposed Installer (it's an APK so don't flash this, just install):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1957219&d=1368387321
And copy the flashable Disabler zip at the root of your internal sdcard : It will allow you to disable The Framework trough recovery if something goes wrong :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1619566&d=1361912360
Now download the Xtheme module and install it (it's an APK so don't flash this, just install) :
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ciz2clswmxa6i7/XThemeEngine_beta5.apk
Finally download and Install my theme in attachement (it's an APK so don't flash this, just install)
INSTRUCTIONS :
Install Xposed Framework (from the Xposed Installer app - just launch it and click on the relevant button)
Activate the Xtheme module in Xposed Installer app (in the module tab)
Choose sampletheme in the list, click apply then softreboot
Report if it works ! (in case of problems you can flash the disabler trough recovery)
Cheers
EDIT: my mod will also turn your clock blue and change your battery icons, but if it works i can remove those parts.
EDIT2 : I have replaced the attachement by a new one : this one works perfectly, it has the glow effect and the brightness bar on top of it.

Status bar transparency is the latest Android craze. Many people want it but aren't sure where to get it. This guide is here to help you find ROM's that have the transparent status bar mod enabled out of the box.
(If I've missed any ROM's that include transparency please don't hessitate to let me know in this thread and I'll add it to the first post. I am trying to build a complete list. If I leave a ROM off it's just an oversite or I didn't realize the missing ROM had the feature)
Touch Wiz ROM's
All TouchWiz ROM's should have status bar transparency as the stock ROM includes is all all variants of TW ROMs are based on the stock ROMs. (I never use TW ROMs so I can't verify this. If it's wrong please let me know)
Should you find a TW ROM that doesn't include transparency options, akapaul26 has a mod for so you can try to add it yourself. Click here.
AOSP ROM's
All Android 4.2 based ROMs should theoretically be able to add status bar transparency by using the XPosed Framework and TweakBox mods found here. Make a nandroid backup first then give it a try. I've tried it on multiple devices with mixed results. When I did get it to work the status bar is ALWAYS transparent, not just on the home screen. So this might not be the ideal option for some, and it might be the greatest thing in the world for others. It all depends on your use.
This does not work on Android 4.3 ROMs just yet though as the XPosed framework isn't compatible yet.
The following AOSP based ROMs have status bar transparency preinstalled and ready to go. (I haven't tried every one of these. So If I say one has it and it doesn't let me know. )
- Paranoid Android
- Carbon ROM
- PACman ROM
- Liquid Smooth
- Slim Bean
- BeanStalk
- AOKP
- JellyBro??? (I'm not sure about this one. The developer was talking about it very briefly last month but I don't know if the transparency was every actually added. Can someone let me know?)
- CyanogenMod ROM's do NOT have transparency built in. However there are a bunch of CM kangs floating around. Some of them may have added transparency options but I'm not aware of any.
I have Xposed working on CM10.2. I haven't tried the Tweakbox module, though. I'll give it a shot and report back.
SystemUI kept force closing after applying transparency in Tweakbox on CM10.2.
Xposed modules are kind of hit or miss since 4.3 isn't fully supported yet. The Greenify (donate) module works flawlessly.
For any ROM, it's a very simple XML edit inside systemui.apk. heck you can even make it any color you want!

Yeah I know. But this guide was more aimed at people looking for transparent functionality out of the box.
Remember, even on xda with all the modders we have here, editing an apk is above the heads of most people. The vast majority of people here, even root users, are just flashing what is pre compiled. And there is nothing wrong with that! That's how we all started!
Sent from your phone. You should be careful where you leave that thing.
Just remember to enable it depending on the launcher. Nova, for example, needs to have it enabled in the settings before it takes affect regardless of the other settings. That said, 3minit roms make changing the transparency very, very simple.

This is all true information, but it applies to TouchWiz roms exclusively.
3minit is only on TW to my knowledge (please correct me if Im wrong)
And for AOSP roms that have transparency options built it it will force launchers like Apex and Nova to have transparency and you not only do not have to activate it in the launcher settings but you cannot activate it in the launcher settings. Those launchers only give the transparency options if they are installed on a TouchWiz rom. On aosp roms that option is deleted from the launcher settings.
The launchers search for the transparency options built into TouchWiz, which does it differently than aosp roms. So when the launcher doesn't find the TouchWiz transparency files it removes the transparency option from the settings menu.

I am running 4.2.2 stock and rooted on galaxy s4 T Mobile. The only things I did to customize my phone is using busybox and Xposed with Xblast that allowed me to change the status bar color on the icons, battery, wifi, network indication, and clock. That's really the only customization I did to the phone using Xposed. I also have Widgetlocker app and just some nothing out of the ordinary apps on my phone. If you look at my screenshots you will see a black box with white words in it. That's normal of course but then you will see in another screenshot that there is a blackbox but with black words that you can't see. I don't know why this has happen the blackout words and it seems like it's only on certain apps that is why I am able to show different screenshots. Does anyone know what I am saying trying my best to explain this. I don't want to reset my phone I did it once already when this happened but now it came back. I also tried fixing permissions through busybox and that didn't help. If anyone has anything that can help I would really appreciate it!
Thanks,

The ROM you are using uses the same font/style source for both toast notifications and whatever else you were actually trying to change the formatting of.
You can easily fix it by disabling Xposed, or just the Xposed module that it causing the issue. But you probably can't both fix it and keep that Xposed module.
Don't know why this is happening

Hey thanks for the reply. I disable the Xblast module and it work so far. The black box is now replaced with a white box with black words again. But I don't remember ever having a problem using the Xblast on my S3 like I am using it on my S4 now. Also since I disable it is there another way to change my icon colors in the status bar and maybe be able to hide the battery and or clock up there as well? Do you know too how to change the T Mobile name in the notification pulldown to label it something else that is what I was using the Xblast mainly for changing the status bar and label.
I have attached 3 new photos showing the notification pulldown with the word Stormchaser and the one showing the original status bar, and one showing the customized status bar that I would like to have, is there other ways of doing this without using Xblast?

Don't know which ones you've tried, but typically Gravity Box, X Blast tools, Gem Xperia Xposed all will work on stock rom.
I have tried all of them. But none of them has the ability to rearrange the icons of the status bar.

That's the next one I was going to mention. It's been a while since I used it, so don't remember exactly, but it's not the same kind of 'push-button' auto tweak type thing like Gravity Box, etc. It's a little more technical, but way more versatile.
Yes, the mod Flat style bar indicators is incredible!!
