I am running 4.2.2 stock and rooted on galaxy s4 T Mobile. The only things I did to customize my phone is using busybox and Xposed with Xblast that allowed me to change the status bar color on the icons, battery, wifi, network indication, and clock. That's really the only customization I did to the phone using Xposed. I also have Widgetlocker app and just some nothing out of the ordinary apps on my phone. If you look at my screenshots you will see a black box with white words in it. That's normal of course but then you will see in another screenshot that there is a blackbox but with black words that you can't see. I don't know why this has happen the blackout words and it seems like it's only on certain apps that is why I am able to show different screenshots. Does anyone know what I am saying trying my best to explain this. I don't want to reset my phone I did it once already when this happened but now it came back. I also tried fixing permissions through busybox and that didn't help. If anyone has anything that can help I would really appreciate it!
Thanks,

The ROM you are using uses the same font/style source for both toast notifications and whatever else you were actually trying to change the formatting of.
You can easily fix it by disabling Xposed, or just the Xposed module that it causing the issue. But you probably can't both fix it and keep that Xposed module.
Don't know why this is happening

Hey thanks for the reply. I disable the Xblast module and it work so far. The black box is now replaced with a white box with black words again. But I don't remember ever having a problem using the Xblast on my S3 like I am using it on my S4 now. Also since I disable it is there another way to change my icon colors in the status bar and maybe be able to hide the battery and or clock up there as well? Do you know too how to change the T Mobile name in the notification pulldown to label it something else that is what I was using the Xblast mainly for changing the status bar and label.
I have attached 3 new photos showing the notification pulldown with the word Stormchaser and the one showing the original status bar, and one showing the customized status bar that I would like to have, is there other ways of doing this without using Xblast?
Try wanam xposed? You can do all that you want with it

Sorry for the inconvenience... just go to visual tweaks and toast notification then choose toast style as remove and uncheck the toast color and toast bg color and do a soft reboot...it will solve ur problem

Is anyone good with transparancy? If so would you mind helping me with my rom? You can pm me, add me on aim, gtalk, or msn all of them are the same screen name [email protected],gmail,live.com I would really appreciate it. The rom is bases of stock 3.70 deodex. Thanks in advance!

Remember that fix I told you about that I was trying to accomplish today? Well I started it and it messed up my entire status bar and notification window. I have the GB battery with froyo icons, and GB notifications. The status bar isn't fully black but it's not transparent you can't see through it at all no matter how bright the wallpaper is. The notification window is all black which I also want to be transparent. It's like I did the complete opposite of turning it transparent and made it like a blackout theme lol which I didn't want to do. I'm going to put the notification bar toggles in there and send you the framework-res.apk in a couple minutes.

alright shouldn't be too hard for me to fix this
Here Is The Framework-res.apk
I also removed all GB from the rom because it was having to many problems to find out where the error is so everything is pretty much stock. Only thing included is 4in1 reboot, 4x5 workspace and appdraw, I was putting the hotspot hack in but I don't think it worked out but I should be able to fix that.
Edit removed old framework
Here is my new framework I haven't found any problems with this one. It has a 4x5 workspace, app draw, 4 in 1 reboot, power widgets in the notifications, and sprint hotspot hack. Next i want to change the dock from stock to GB, then after that work on the status bar.
i just rooted my Samsung galaxy ring (SPH-M840) which is running 4.1.2 jellybean and im trying to find an app or theme or rom or something of that matter to customize my status bar and lock screen. Im also running apex launcher and i love it so i don't want my home screen to change at all any tips/help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hello guys,
Is there any way, xposed module or something like that, for editing the statusbar icons? I would like to move the signal and wi-fi icons to the left part of the statusbar. So far, I tried a couple of xposed modules but none of them worked on stock (.263) Sony rom. Thank you.

Don't know which ones you've tried, but typically Gravity Box, X Blast tools, Gem Xperia Xposed all will work on stock rom.
I have tried all of them. But none of them has the ability to rearrange the icons of the status bar.

That's the next one I was going to mention. It's been a while since I used it, so don't remember exactly, but it's not the same kind of 'push-button' auto tweak type thing like Gravity Box, etc. It's a little more technical, but way more versatile.
Yes, the mod Flat style bar indicators is incredible!!

Just acquired a 2013 Nexus 7 I'm setting up for my brother, and one requirement he has is no time display anywhere... don't ask!
I can grab a third-party lock screen app to eliminate the clock from the lock screen and not have a clock widget on the home screen, so that leaves the clock in the status bar...
I've updated it to 6.0.1, as I assumed that time/clock was one thing that could be shut off in the Status Bar settings in System UI Tuner.... but no joy.
Any suggestions? Or will this require rooting and installing a status bar app? Suggestions in that case?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I'll have a look at Gravity box today.
Okay... after digging into Gravity box, Xposed, etc... any way of achieving this without rooting?
Were it for me, I'd have less of an issue as I don't mind wiping and reloading everything on the tablet (I discovered fastboot this week for the first time, as this tablet had TWRP and wouldn't update or accept a new Google account when I got it ) but... I'd like a seamless experience for my brother.
And you'd think one would be able to remove the clock from the status bar without needing to install a recovery, SU, rooting, installing Xposed and an Xposed module!
Thanks in advance... again.

You can hide the status bar in most launchers ...makes for a cleaner look ....then just swipe down to use status bar ...

Thanks for the suggestion!
I'd installed Nova Launcher as Googling suggested previous versions had status bar clock tweaks in the "Lab" section of Nova's settings, but not for Marshmallow. Needless to say, I didn't see the option to hide the status bar earlier... but it should do the trick.
Now... to find the most streamlined lock screen app to remove the clock there...
Of course, I might just let my brother pick the one he likes best after I set everything else up for him...
In light of the fact there's no real root I figured I must DO something to this phone! I MUST make it different than Samsung intended. I was going thru withdrawal. Really. I got to messing around with different Samsung themes (black is Always Right and all of that developers dark themes are pretty dope..btw); but I found in the process many of the s8 unrooted mods usually work. Do some research but I've personally used better nav colors, remove lock text, remove lock carrier name, more precise animation scale, transparent qs, different nav buttons etc. And they are mostly apks, so no struggle. At all. Overlay apks also work too.
Not taking credit for any of this and props to the developer/s. I'm just sharing. Here's a link to one of the best list I've found.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/mods-small-collection-tweaks-t3657119
Even though it's a substratum thread the mods work without it. I tried substratum but it didn't play nice with my phone. Look for s8 threads in theme section by tigerhood and also clck. Most of their apks work on our phone.
Anyway maybe this is common knowledge but i couldn't find it anywhere else on the board so don't roast me if its nothing special. Lol
Thanks for this link, I have been looking and waiting for a long time for a way to hide the clock and battery icon in the status bar and this mod worked perfectly.

Lots of options for nav bar.
Here is a list of nav bar layers plus many more.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73042403&postcount=1442
With substratum you have lots of choices too.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/theme-statusbar-icons-extras-samsung-t3674792
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ami.vividiconset
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/substratum-inversion-ui-overlay-overlays-t3604341
Most of these work. Check the links at the bottom too. I can't remember where I got my nav shown in the picture but I've had no issues with any. Only ones seems not to work are those that try to adjust the nav bar height. It doesn't break anything you just don't see any change in the size.
Other than that you have to reinstall all your overlays again if you change your theme.
Nav bar shown apk below. Works 100%
Again, I take no credit for these and props to the developer/s.
The closest I can get to all black UI is by using Mini Black Edition V2 from the Samsung theme store and Swift Black overlays. I still have white pull down notifications and white nav bar when the keyboard is shown.
Is there a way to black out the pull down notifications and nav bar while the keyboard is shown ?
There's an apk around on one of the links I posted or somewhere else, I can't remember, with an overlay that gives you a black notification panel. It looks really nice, but you can't see the text on notifications very well.
For the black nav bar use the following by Draco.
Edit: first post on this link is the best list I've found. I've tried many of them and they work just fine. Props to the developers and the member who pulled them all together in one place.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73042403&postcount=1442
Looks good don't it? All courtesy of the links posted. Honestly with these mods, there's really no need for root. So until we get full root this is the set up.

Use any of the ones that are system ui black notification. It should say that or something like that when you install. Then install the custom grey/ black notification. Or use any of the grey notification only ones and then the custom grey/ black
