Connecting to Range Extender ( Duplicate SSID ) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I just got my first Range Extender ( as everyone knows it accepts the SSID of my router ) so 2 of media devices do see 2 SSID's of the same name ( I believe thats how it works ) BUT the droid only sees one however when I take it close to the extender the signal bars go to peak on refresh
My laptop alse sees 1 SSID only
Now can someone explain, is the droid only supposed to see one? and auto pick the best signal
I am kinda new to this can someone explain

[Q] Captive portal issues

I've noticed that my S3 has problems connecting to Wi-Fi networks with captive portal. It connects, displays a notification saying that I need to open a browser to login... and than disconnects before I have the time to do so.
This only happens with captive portal Wi-Fi networks.

[Q] ad-hoc

last week I boght the S4 and that day he detected my ad-hoc network
few days after, the phone asked for update and after it the ad-hoc networks were not there anymore.. what happened and how to fix it?
it is really frustrating that 600 Euro phone does not have pass through internet and cannot connect to ad-hoc networks

Prl question

I have a sprint note 2 flashed to straight talk. The Prl is 59325. When I reboot the data gets real slow and the radio strength goes to -125. If I call *228, *22890, or *22899 the data speeds up and the radio db goes to between -85 and -75. Why does this happen?
Update. It improves when I call any number. Does not really make sense to me.

Sorry that is my fault. All questions from now on go into q & a. Thank you.
Care to send me your PRL file?

wifi hotspot performance

Ok first I did search and didnt come up with anything to answer my questions so here goes. I just recently moved into a new apartment and have yet to have internet and cable hooked up, I am relegated to using either a T-Mobile hotspot device or Xfinity WIFI for internet, but both of them are slow and temperamental signals at best. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to my Nexus tablet and possible my Windows 7 laptop to try and increase the performance and try and get a more stable faster connection
