Image is quite self explanatory.
Today was traveling and using a phone as always and got a phone call - and apparently the screen was like this.
Anyone experienced this, or managed to replace the display (price?) especially in Poland?
Phone bought in 2011.01.03, so it died 5 months after warranty expiration
Symptoms:
White lines that are vertical in portrait mode.
They do not rotate on screen position change.
Yet they start from black and fade in from black to the random brightness after a while if the creen is used (otherwise they dim out).
All other phone features work - for example I was able to answer the call swiping a finger as usual
Battery pull - the issue perists.
Debugging disabled, and I wait for screen from SlimRom to get the idea what parts of the sceen to press to:
1. unlock sim card
2. unlock pattern lock
3. enable developer mode (or start Airdoid or adb)
Thanks in advance for any info, topic will be updated later on.
I'm wondering about first wipig the phone and then fixind the screen.
Also thinking about getting some replacement (sth like nexus 4 but with external sd, or very beefy internal).
If the problem persists when in bootloder mode or recovery its going to be a hardware fault, and almost for sure you need to replace LCD, second mostly likely the main flex cable.
Know nothing about Poland but the repair should take 20 min for the experienced and an hour for a novice
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
The problem was with the display, not the tape. More info to come.
How much cost a new display in germany?
no idea, I'm not from Germany.

Hi everyone,
It is almost 2 weeks my XDA Orbit is not working properly. The first time it hanged-up during a call and afterwards it took me several resets to bring it back. During the system load the screen was changing colors and freezing, sometimes completely white, sometimes with some colorful stripes, sometimes solid violet. After several reboots I couldn't turn it on at all. I took it to local service, where they told me that the problem is with boot loader and fixed it. I took it back and have the same experience. I have flashed it with original ROM, both from PC or SD card, but the same problem exist. I am assuming that the issue is in a hardware defect. I know that it is the time to get rid of this PDA and get a new one.
Anyway... Is there a tool available for testing HTC hardware (CPU, flash)???

possibility the battery gone or the lcd.
buy a new battery, theyre only cheep so start there..
leave it off while charging, green led when done.
if its not your battery, i think its your lcd..
best to open the device and check your lcd is connected properly..

Thanks! raving_nanza
Opened my Orbit recently, the connector is in place. I would assume that the issue is more in battery then LCD. The battery surface is lofted.
Assuming that it's a battery issue - should the same happen if the device is always connected to external power supply?

LOL
get a new battery dude..
dont turn the device on untill the new battery is fully charged.
a simple fix hopefully..
Hi, I bought my nexus 7 in 2013, it had Kitkat 4.4.4 for most of its time, I never rooted it.
However about three months back I noticed a strange thing that I could only pull down the notification bar from the very left and right ends of the screen.
Since I was a bit skeptical I did installed a touch screen test app named "Yet Another MultiTouch Test" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rn.yamtt and tested the screen responsiveness, then I found out that a slight strip on the top edge of the tough screen had become unresponsive rest of the screen was fully responsive. For the clear visualization please refer to the following illustration as I didn't took a screen shot at that time.

I didn't consider it as a big issue as it didn't get in the way of using the device.
Eventually I updated to android lollipop and the touch screen issue still existed as same as when the device was on kitkat 4.4.4, but from last couple of weeks my touch screen issue seem to increase over time not full vertical strip has gone unresponsive to touch.
After going through many threads I even took the back cover off and check if the touch screen connectors are intact. The only thing I didn't try was software mods as I doubt that would help me because used this for almost a year without any issue.
I never dropped the device the screen shows no damage or whats so ever.
So I shall be much be thankful if anybody could help me find where the defect is.
Hi all. I just found out my note 10.1 upper left part of the screen is acting weird recently, however I have no idea whats wrong with it.
Here's the thing. if i put my tablet away for some times (with screen off), and then i turn on the screen again, I wont be able to see the 'over-brighten-line" as shown in the attachment. After i turned on the screen for quite sometime (talking about a few minutes, after watching a 3 minutes youtube video perhaps), the line starting to show. Even if i turn the screen brightness to the lowest, it wont be as bright, but it is still visible. IF i turn it off again for some time, it back to normal again. then the process repeats.
Anyone know what's up with that? Can I possibly able to fix that on my own? I don't really want to send it back to Samsung, I mean first, there is no more warranty and second, I had a really bad experience with samsung's warranty services for my previous device here in my country. Or if i leave it that way, does it going to hurt the display panel in any way?
Really hope someone who has the knowledge in this is able to help me out. Thanks in advance.
[Edit]: no, i never let the device run under hot condition. only drop it like once, not from very high tho. I've never torture the device in anyway, most of the time I use it to watch movies, youtube videos etc.
Here's the attachment.

anyone? I need your opinions and help. thanks..
It looks like just light bleed from the backlight. You should review youtube videos on disassembly and specifically screen replacement ones. I don't know if it is possible to fix it yourself without significant effort. IIRC the glass and screen are adhered with adhesive that makes it difficult. I'm not sure if you'd need to separate them to deal with this.
Hello,
I purchased my phone just 5 days ago and I am facing two problems with it :-
1> Whenever I turn off the auto-rotate in settings, the G-Sensor stops working after some time or after a restart. To get the sensor working again I need to shutdown phone and turn it on after few mins and then turn on auto rotate to keep that sensor working.
My auto rotate is on since last 25 hours and the g-sensor is working but as soon as I turn it off, the g-sensor stops after a certain amount of time. No permanent fix found for this yet.
2> Whenever I try to click a photo with flash , I get a pink tint when I click a photo of a white notebook page. And when I try to click a photo of an object which is not white, then it tints it to yellow. Also, I noticed that my flashlight gets very hot within few seconds of turning it on. No temporary/permanent fix found for this yet.
Is there anyway how I could fix these both issues ?
Best Regards,
Pr0Ankit
Hi Pr0Ankit, even i am having the same issue. i went to the service center regarding this, they said one update is pending for the phone specific to G SENSOR. They also said that update might come in the first week of August. Fingers crossed.
Device Replaced
Hello Mohit,
I went to the service centre too and they diagnosed my device and signed the DOA papers (Dead On Arrival) . They somehow fixed the camera but could not fix the g-sensor therefore they said me to get a new device. I took the DOA papers back to the store and bought Samsung Galaxy J7. I would request you to do the same.
Here are the screenshots :-

Yesterday randomly my Op3's touch screen stopped working.
From the last one year or so, there is a little gap between the mobile's display and the actual device because of the display glue coming off but nothing major happened with the phone in 1-2 days that can result in t's touch not working. I would have gone to the OnePlus service center but it is currently closed due to lockdown.
Does anyone have any idea if this means my display panel is dead or some display cable got loose which resulted in touch not working (or anything else)? I am attaching two pictures of the phone to show you guys about the display gap I am talking about.
Note: The display works perfectly and the phone works perfectly too if I connect it to my laptop and remote use it by USB debugging. Also, the touch screen problem is not caused by an app as the touch screen is also not working in the recovery mode (TWRP). Any help will be appreciated.

Screen and touch, display assembly is connected with only one cable on our device(navi buttons and fingerprint scanner are different). So if touch broken, probably it won't be able to repair. They will replace the entire screen.
Seems this thing happen to many people, i got it loosen in the same area as yours
They use double side tape which soften overtime+removing the phone from the case break it
Though my tc is fine because when i notice it i immediately glue it with standard tc glue instead using double side tape (much simpler, without opening the phone)
