How to find out whats taking up soo much space on phone?! - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

is their a simple way to figure out what folders are taking up soo much space on my phone? I dont mean the SD card, that i know, but for the actual phone i cant seem to find a way without actually goin thru every single folder in there...their has to be an easier way,as i want to free up space on the phone...

There are storage analyzer apps in the store that should do this.

Assuming CM9 or CM10, Menu, Manage Apps, All. Select an app, and if you have a "Move to SD Card" select that. Go through all your apps and do the same for those with the Move to SD Card option. That should free up some space.
Do that for a couple apps, then download app2sd app from market. This app will show u all the apps that r movable, and will allow u to move them all without selecting individual ones.

Can u be more specific about what app exactly has this problem?

Is there a way to set default media storage to ExtSdCard for all downloads?

Hi
I'm sorry if someone already asked this (tried searching but didn't find the exact same question).
Is it possible to set a default storage location for all apps downliads/pictures? I know how to do it in camera and some apps have a setting option for this. But I've uninstalled many apps (wallpapers etc) simply because I'm too frustrated with transferring files manually.
For example, my instagram saves pictures to device memory and it really bothers me...
Thanks a lot!

Here's a link to the one I use. It applies on boot. Works great. Haven't had a single issue....

Thanks so much for the link. However, I'm not trying to move apps to sd card because I don't have that many apps. And I don't really want to root my device.
I want to set all app downloads to sd card. Some apps have a setting for that but some don't.
Thanks anyway!

You can use directory bind, but sorry still you needs root to use it.

(help) cant download anything from the internet on my phone!

i need help I've tried 6 rom or so and they all have the same problem where if I try downloading from the internet it would say download unsuccessful, not enough memory. I was able to download apps from the play store and from XDA. Does anyone know whats wrong? please help!
thank you!
Make sure you have enough space for a ROM, usually a ROM is around 500 mb, compared to an app which is usually less then 50 mb. So just because you have enough for an app does not mean its enough for larger files. Go to Settings> Storage to find out how much you need/have.

[Q] sd card help please

I rooted my s4 but I have no clue how to move anything to the micro sd card its 32 gigs class 4 I bought music from the playstore and some apps and just want to move it to the sd. This is my first android I had ipod/iphones before this
Welcome to Android
First off, congrats on the switch to Android. I personally believe you won't want to go back to iPhone. With that said, I don't have my S4 yet, but if it's anything like other Androids, you can use a file app (I use Astro) and move any files back and forward as you see fit. You can also mount the phone to a PC and move it that way or put the SD card itself in the PC. If your filling up the whole 32GB or a lot of data, the fastest would probly be mounting the SD card itself into the PC.
Hope this helps, but then again.... I'm still waiting for the S4 to release in my area.
I found a way to move the music to sd card just not apps I think they made it harder to move because no apps I download do it but ill try astro. Ipod/iphone jailbreaking is simpler lol.

Not if you plan to install games.
I have a 32gb iPhone 5 and have at least 17gbs in games alone.
I'm also looking for a way to install apps on the SD card.
I haven't open my GS4 yet so I can return it incase we can't.
600+ for a 9GB is a not good.
@@@use " link2sd " application...download from play store...its not only let u too move apps to sd...and u can also uninstall unwanted system apps if u [email protected]@@

Anyone figure out how to move apps to SD card?

I would really like to free up some space on my internal SD. I bought a 64GB SD card , and am using FolderMount to try and move the apps, but to no avail. Anyone figure this out yet? I am rooted running Infamous S4, and have removed all of the bloatware possible. Still really low an memory.
I use the stock file manager to move apps, i had this same problem with storage. Do you have more than one backup saved on your internal sd?

Like I stated in the original post, I am using FolderMount. The problem is the folders where the games should be are empty when I look for them. That is the ones I can find. Its like they don't really exist. I went into my data folder, did find one game, Zynga Poker, and tried to move it, pinned it, and it did absolutely nothing.
Your not moving the whole folder then. Your doing something wrong. Watch a couple YouTube videos on how to. Navigate to SD card, android, data or obb and select one of your games inside either of those two folders
