A few days ago I updated CM10 RC2 and Play Store quit working on me. I Googled around, didn't find anything -- didn't really care either. Figured I'd just wait until the next build came out and it did, today. I'm on RC4 and it's still an issue. Just wondering if this happening for other people and what can be done about it
I've tried installing Gapps 20121011 and 20121212. Neither worked
Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's CM10.1 RC2/RC4 (Android 4.2.x), not CM10 (Android 4.1.x), so you should be using a new gapps. Probably the 20130301 one (I don't know if it's the latest as I don't use gapps at all). Better do a clean wipe, install ROM and then install the new gapps.

I have the same problem, but I am using the most recent gapps. I updated from the last monthly to RC4 from settings -> about phone -> cyanogenmod updates. What's the difference between this and wiping the cache and flashing RC4? What exactly is the sequence of steps and which caches need to be wiped?

Hello
I have just installed Jellytime R29, mu 1st ever custom ROM. I am trying to figure out to install apps with no success. I cannot find the Play Store app, only the Play store website. If I try and install any of the apps I had previously, the website says they are already installed. I assume that is because they are linked to my gmail account, I cannot seem to reinstall them either. So I tried to install an app that I have never installed before, it said it installed successfully, but I cannot find it anywhere on the phone.
I am really confused, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The version on the Jellytime download site says it is deprecated, it is dated the 26th of July 2012, is this the one to use?
When you flash any ROM, you should read the OP. The JellyTime OP instructs you to flash gapps and has a link to a more recent version.
Try this one? :fingers-crossed:

You've got to flash the GAPPS right after flashing the ROM. Better you reflash both. Everything should work fine then.
The Link for the GAPPS you find in the first post of the JellyTime- ROM.
Hi everyone! I'm new here
My epic is driving me insane. I've been battling CM10 issues for a few days now.
I'm on Cm10 (the latest stable version) with gapps for 4.2.1. I have cwm 6 installed as well.
Here's my issues and what I've done.
The first issue was that my sd card was randomly unmounting and refusing to mount and apollo started displaying song titles incorrectly when I would go into a playlist. I wiped data and cache in CMW and reinstalled cm10 with gapps.
After the fresh install, I was getting random reboots. It would sit there and then restart it's self to the point where it wouldn't even boot. So I odin it back to stock FC09 and then installed cwm, redownloaded cm10 and gapps, and installed them.
On the first start up, it didn't even go to the setup screen like it normally does. So i set it up like normal through the systems menu. But when I got to setting up my corporate email, it would give me an error "exchange service unexpectedly stopped." I fixed that by reinstalling exchange2.apk and email.apk. But then, I noticed that the "clear all notification" button in the notification drawer was missing and would only show up if "PM/AM" fuction was disabled for the clock. and it only showed up in landscape mode.
So I odin back to stock, installed cwm, downloaded cm10 with gapps, and installed them both. Again, on first boot, no setup screen. This time, the aosp key board app kept crashing. I cleared the data for that app but it kept crashing. home button and search button does noting. In an attempt to fix it, I odin back to stock fc09 and installed cm10 with gapps. Still the same issue, keyboard crashing, homebutton and search button not responding (they blink though so I know it works).
I'm at my wits end and ready to live with stock for the rest of my life. But I can't. I need to stay with cyanogenmod because that's how I can get picture messaging to work because my epic is on a different carrier. When I'm in stock, everything works all fine and dandy. It seems like everytime I use a new download file of the stable cm10, a new issue occurs.
Use a cm10 nightly from get.cm and redownload the gapps

Make sure you're looking at the right device. There are no CM10.1 nightlies for epicmtd yet, only CM10. And make sure you use the gapps for 4.1.2, not 4.2.1.

there is the link to get the newest nightlies and here is the one for the gapps http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
Oh my god. Thank you guys! I downloaded the wrong gapps! I had 20121212 instead of 20121011. Such a dumb mistake! Thank you so much! I was wondering why cm10, aokp, and paranoidandroid wasn't working! Wrong gapps
This is kinda off, but is there a reason why cyanogenmod has nightlies for cm10 even though there's a stable version? Are those updates or just something else like jb 4.1.2 merged with 4.2? Wait... that's probably cm10.1. But what's the reason for those nightlies and do I really need them?
I just installed the CM10.1 Nightly from 1/13/13 and installed it over the last stable build (10.0). Now, when I boot my phone I get messages from time to time (a few an hour) about Youtube not working and Google Play Music not working. These are probably some of my most used apps and its really sucking not having them working. I upgraded Gapps to a 4.2 version and I still have the same issue. Any ideas?

Did you install the new "Gapps" package?
Edit: didn't see you installed the latest gapps.
Did you try going into settings>apps>all apps and hitting "clear data" for the affected apps? Also, make sure there are no google play updates for those apps.
If all else fails, I would first try reflashing the Gapps package and maybe CM 10.1 as well, and if reflashing doesn't work, then do a factory reset.
BTW, I flashed 10.1 and 4.2 Gapps over 10.0 and had no problems. There were some updates that needed dling though

My Gapps never said 121212 however it did say it was compatible with 4.2. Downloading the 121212 one now, gonna flash and try that. Also, I cleared data and checked for updates to no avail.
Thank you for the speedy reply!
Alright, so that didn't work. Still greeted with "Youtube has stopped working" and "Google Play Music has stopped working" upon booting. Is there no other things I can try? I feel like factory reset is unsafe and will probably make me lose data. haha.
Fixed it! Just uninstalled both apps and reinstalled them fresh from the Play Store. Thank you for the help either way!
Hi, I've looked around quite a lot and I can't seem to find a thread that answers my question or even one that has the same issue.
Basically, I want to install the PACman rom with JB 4.2.2. I can get that working pretty well by itself, but the issue comes in when I try to install gapps. I've tried several different versions of gapps and every time, the second the phone boots up it says gapps has crashed. And it continues to pop up. The Play store crashes as soon as it opens, Gmail crashes. the Browser doesn't crash, except on download. And with certain versions of gapps, the Android Keyboard will not run (it crashes before it even opens every single time).
I've found other threads that talk about similar issues with the Galaxy S3 that tell me to go into Settings>Apps>All and enable Download Manager. I can't find that anywhere (which might be the real root of the issue I suppose). I see lots of other activities, all of which are enabled, but no Download Manager or even anything that really sounds like it could be a renamed Download Manager. I've hit the "Restore App Preferences" button too. No good.
I've deleted everything, wiped all possible caches, and repeated the process about 15 times. I've used different orders of doing things (that I find on different forum posts), and different versions of both gapps and PACman. I don't want to go below v20, I don't think, v20.1 doesn't work because WIFI doesn't work (known bug) and I can't find anything higher than that even though I believe v22 is the latest.
I have installed custom roms before. I'm currently using AOKP 4.1.2 and everything works fine with that.
Any help fixing this issue or any alternative suggestion that gives me jb 4.2 would be GREATLY appreciated. I am going for a daily driver rom, not something experimental and (overly) buggy.
THANKS!

I tried that yes. Though all the PACman stuff says to use 4.1 and it'll work fine. I tried both. Though 4.1 seemed to work "better" than 4.2. As in the keyboard worked.
I think I fixed it
Pretty sure I fixed it. The issue seems to have been that PACman didn't come with DownloadManager.apk ..... Not sure why or if I just happened to download from a bad source, but in any case, that would certainly prevent gapps from downloading things.
So I edited the rom, added DownloadManager.apk from another rom I have on my computer and flashed that with the 4.2.2 gapps. Seems to work great so far!!!!
Hey everyone. Just got my first Note 3 a few weeks back and finally getting around to customizing it, but I'm running into problems getting it to work just right.
I'm used to CyanogenMod and wanted to get it for this Note 3. Well, the only versions are nightlies, but those have worked for me well in the past, so I figured no harm in trying them out. Everything installs A-OK and runs fine until I try to flash GAPPS.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but this is my method and everything that I've been able to gather from people in the CM IRC tell me it's correct:
Full wipe (system, cache, dalvik, data, internal), flash CM, flash GAPPS, reboot.
I'm using the latest CM 12.1 nightly, the latest GAPPS available for it (ARM, 5.1, pico), and clearing everything I possibly can before installing. Even still, I keep getting "Unfortunately, Android keyboard (AOSP) has stopped" upon boot every time. I can't clear the data for the keyboard either in the app settings, nor can I access the play store to try to update the keyboard since, well, I don't have a keyboard.
Any ideas of what I could try? I really enjoy CM, but have no experience trying anything else out though.
Tried other Gapp versions such as Banks?

No, I have not. Just pico and nano versions of the ARM 5.1.
I cannot find GAPPS by Banks anywhere. The only link I could come across is dead.
I ended up just getting an APK of SwiftKey so I could actually start using my phone. I guess this'll work, and SwiftKey is pretty widely praised it seems.
