[Q] AT&T Video MMS send any size? - LG Optimus G Pro

I had the Optimus G and loved it. One thing that it did that no other Android phone will is send pretty much any video you record as an MMS. It gives you the option to "trim" and regardless of whether or not you do, it then compresses it and sends it as an MMS in lesser quality.
I would assume that the G Pro would do this as well, since the software is probably pretty similar. Can someone confirm this on their AT&T model for me? I'm thinking about picking this bad boy up and, as stupid as it sounds, this is kind of one of the deciding factors for me.

[Q] Give up Droid Incredible for an Evo?

Hi Guys,
I don't know if this question has been asked here before or not, and please spare me on the flaming if it has, but what are your honest opinions about trading in a Droid Incredible for an Evo?
Personally, I love my Incredible, and don't think there is anything wrong with it. I just wish it had some things that the Evo did.
Factors that matter to me and I am considering the Evo for:
1. Largest screen
2. Front facing Camera
3. HDMI port
Factors that scare me, or keep me from an Evo:
1. I have heard the size is really uncomfortably big, is this true?
2. I heard the battery life is horrible on the Evo! Personally I think the battery life on the Incredible is nothing special either, but I heard it's really bad on the Evo. I almost never use 3/4G or data, and just use WiFi very little, so this might not be a big deal for me.
I am sorry for writing this post without actually having an Evo in my hand, but it's sold out in my local stores. I intend to just ask for a trade on Craig's List or buy it from Ebay, if I get positive responses...
Also, 4G is negligible for me, since I will be using it on the Verizon network. Thanks for all your help, guys! I really appreciate your help!!
Dont really see any use for a larger screen, HDMI port or front facing camera.
I would get the samsung galaxy S for verizon when it comes out, its screen is in the middle of size betwen the dInc and evo. I dont believe it has HDMI out or front facing camera. Also EVO is on sprint and i know sprint by my sucks the fat one. I would rather stay on VZW.
I've held the evo. Its fat. I mean its cool, the front facing camera is awesome, and the HDMI out is awesome. But its fat. I mean.... obese...
Hmm, it's funny, but not completely unexpected the responses I am getting for the same post in the Evo forum versus the DInc.
So for your guys it really comes down to the size, huh? I thought about the Galaxy S, but other than the screen quality on that thing, I am not too attracted to it. Something about a Samsung product, just never sounded right to me (even though our DInc screens might be Samsung, huh )? Plus, I love Sense, I don't think there is a better implementation of Android, so far, in terms of the UI, than Sense.
Front facing camera is really the biggest force pulling towards the Evo. The screen is also a huge component, cause, it's the biggest in so far (other than Dell Streak, which I don't care for).
Since we're here, why not make the inevitable comparison and ask abou the Droid X... what do you guys think ?
Thanks for all your posts!

Huh? did I miss something?
ummm... how will you use it on the verizon network? the evo is locked to sprint even though its a cdma phone... and pls dont talk abot flashing the IMEIs. Its dangerous (not sure if its illegal or whatever) but certainly can brick your phone. A 4.3" screen brick with HDMI, and a front camera will still be a brick. If u want a bigger screen - i would recommend the droid x, even though it does not feel as sweet as the htc phones. Cant help with the front facing camera - seems none of the VZ phones have that.
Verizon's getting the EVO. Yippi

Nope, no way. Don't want a phone that big (same goes for the Droid X), and I sure as hell don't want Sprint.
(You asked for an honest opinion )
why would anyone want to pay 10 dollars extra a month for a 4g that is pretty spotty at the moment and not available everywhere?
The LCD screen of the EVO is no match for the AMOLED display of the incredible.
Other than that.. if you are OK with switching to sprint network over VZW.. then go for it.
I think he means he'll be using VZW towers, since Sprint phones use VZW service if they're out of range of their own towers.
I think...
Or I could be wrong. I usually am.
Either way, in response to your original post, here's my issue. I took a look at the Droid X and left the store very happy with my Incredible, for the same reason I wouldn't buy an Evo. Simply put, you can't use the phone in one hand. Unless you have gigantic thumbs, there is no way you can manipulate the entire screen with your thumb, while holding the phone in the same hand. It's not a question of the phone feeling too bulky. It will still fit in your pocket just fine. It's not an iPad (with wings) after all. It really comes down to whether or not you use your phone one handed or not. If you always hold it, and manipulate the screen with the index finger of your other hand, great. Get the Evo. If not, you'll hate it.

No flame here, but i'm curious as to what exactly youre using the phone for besides calls.
On a different note, considering the large screen and front facing camera are the two deciding factors for you, i would say stick with the incredible. I promise you the EVO isnt gonna be the last phone with these features. im sure the next phone to have these 2 features will utilize them much better than the EVO does.
I went the opposite way. I had an evo and returned it for an incredible.
The phones are more similar than different. Battery life was pretty much the same. No major differences in performance, though the inc seems a tiny bit more responsive.
I didnt see any use for hdmi out on the evo - I already have an htpc connected to the tv for viewing anything online. I've had front facing cameras on every laptop I've owned on the last 5 years and never really used it so not a real advantage for me.
Size wise the inc is more comfortable, but the evo is not too big.
I'm in a 4g city, but at home and work 4g performance was no better than 3g.
Rate plans for me were very close in costs, though Sprint was more flexible.
I returned the evo due to WiFi range issues and general concerns that I'd bought a multimedia device that happened to be a smartphone when what I really wanted was a smartphone that could occasionally play multimedia.
Add in Versions option for 1 year contracts, and the inc was a better fit for me.

Switched to Verizon Gnex

I finally got pissed enough at my rezound, and called Verizon up and demanded a device switch. They are sending me a Gnex. Did I make a bad choice? It was comparable to the rezound in price and release date.
Also, on the rezound Sense 3.6 messages, you have an option to do group MMS. It creates a different thread and groups all the people involved in the conversation. It is done over MMS.
My question is: Does the Gnex have this? If not, Will I be able to download, install and run the vzmessages app from the play store to enable it? I really hate vzmessages, but it doesn't look like there is much of an alternative.
Thanks

Good switch-- I love my nexus way more besides from the camera.
I use gosms for group MMS. It works and is way prettier and less laggy than vzwmessages

I will admit the rezound had a kick-ass camera. But that was one of the only redeeming features it had.

3G video calls (not via skyoe or similar apps)

Hi.
Can anyone help me how to make 3G video call using LG G3?. The call originating phone and the destination phone are logged into the 3G network and there is no network problem. Kindly help me as it is urgent.
Prety sure you will both need to use the same video calling app, as far as I'm aware there isn't a native video calling fature on the device, but haven't received mine yet to confirm

Why is the LG cheating its customers?. Now I regret a lot buying LG G3. My Samsung N7100 was far more better than this phone.

Not sure why you THINK you're getting cheated, because you're not, you bot simply need ot pick a video calling app, install, use, not that big a deal really, or do you really want MORE bloatware on your devices?

You know, if you took the time to properly write up a coherent diatribe detailing exactly what you need or what you think you have been wronged, it would go a long way getting some feedback. Simply starting a thread and not saying much of anything doesn't help. LG has cheated you in what way exactly?
Video calling requires some sort of video calling service on both ends, and in most cases a video calling app on both ends. You don't say what efforts you've tried (and or failed at). You don't even explain or detail what a Samsung N7100 has to do with the whole equation other than to simply state, "My Samsung N7100 was far more better than this phone". Better in what way? Better at making video calls, making iced lattes, grilling chicken, making custard flans?
So you don't want to use "Skype or similar apps", then what else do you want to video call with? What service provider are you on? What part of the world? Do they use/provide a proprietary video calling service/feature on their network? Which version G3 do you have?

[Q] Anyone having camera issues?

Hi,
I was testing out the camera on our two note 4s last night. I took pictures of the exact same scene and compared them. Turns out that there is a pretty big gap between the quality of the pictures taken. On one phone, the pictures appear brighter and clearer. On the other, the pictures seem more yellowish and dark. I've attached images to show what I'm talking about. Anyone else with this issue? I can't decide whether I need to swap the phone out.
I swapped my phone out for other reasons. I was having issues with the top of the screen being a bit pink. The camera in the new phone is exactly the same as the old phone. It's like my wife's phone is shooting pics at a slightly cooler temperature. Wish that was adjustable. Her pictures are also clearer. It's like they are using two different sensors. Oh well, that's life I guess. I probably won't use the camera all that much, and there are so many other things that I do like about the thing.
Hi,
I have noticed the same issue..Today I went to best buy to compare the pictures from best buy note 4. I could see the little difference, exactly same issues with the color as posted by you. Did you exchange the phone? the best buy guy told me to try resetting the phone but I dont think it will work.

I exchanged once, but for screen issues. I had a screen that was a bit pink on the top and green on the bottom. My current screen is a bit uneven on the lighting, but good enough. I know that perfect screens on any device are exceedingly rare.
I don't think that I'll exchange it again, unless there's something else wrong with it. I have until Saturday to decide.
If you do reset the phone and it works, please let me know. That solution just seems like something that they say to get rid of people who are complaining. I can't see it doing anything at all. But hey, what do I know.
If it is something widespread, maybe it's something that can be remedied with a software update in the future. Is there any way that I can check which camera sensors are on the two phones? Maybe they're different.
I will see tomorrow and reset at best buy only so that I can compare. The difference is little so wondering should I exchange or not as I still have time. I clicked the pic from their cam and transferred to my phone and I could see the difference.

The difference is why I'm wondering if there is more than one sensor in use in these phones. I see no difference at all in photos that are well lit. It's only on pics that are taken in lower light that the difference comes out.
I doubt that I'd exchange for this reason. So far, everything else about the phone is seems fine. And I already exchanged once, and ended up with the exact same camera issue.
Went to best buy today and compared with their phones. Over there I could see very little difference between different phones so did not exchange it. I think its software issue and hoping it will be fine with the update.

Hoping that you're right. From all of the talk, I was expecting some wonder camera. So far, I've been unimpressed. Outdoor shots are nice enough, but indoor is strictly hit or miss for me.
I thought I was the only person that thought this.. I have a similar post with the same problem. Verizon guy says they would to have to send it in and etc. I just exchanged it for the turbo, I wasn't to happy either with his attitude. Its definitely a problem no one is addressing.

If I was having a problem with a 1000 doller phone you better bet you're sweet @$$ I'd be takin it back!
Yes, the camera is not great. Indoor shots are poor and I phone is much better. The reason I did not exchange it because I did not want to get a new phone if it has same camera. This is first time I am using samsung, hoping the note 4 will be amazing. Its slow than my previous phone (HTC, Iphone) but has lot of functions. Only good part is I got this phone for 99$ as I got 200$ rebate for my very old phone. I hope phone will become faster after getting android Lollipop.

Same. I actually did exchange my first one for other reasons, and the camera was exactly the same. Other than some minor screen issues, the phone is fine. I don't want to risk exchanging it for something worse. I only have three days until my 14 days is up, so if I get something with other issues, I am stuck.
I am hoping that this is something that they can remedy with a software fix. If not, I guess I can always send it to Samsung as a warranty claim.

Sprint G3 or naa?

Should I get it? Are there certain firmwares needed for an unlocked bootloader or is sprint keeping this thing open? I love everything about the phone, I just don't want to be limited as to what I can and can't tweak. Also, for those of you using the G3, are there any regrets? Other phones you wish you would have gotten? The nexus 6 is calling me but with the work I do, I'd have to leave it at home. The G3 seems just right. I did research but with random threads and post's these days, it makes it hard to track down reliable info. So I figured I would ask the users of the phone these questions. I'm going to be starting a new 2 year contract so I want to make the right choice.
If I am wrong someone please correct me, but actually the only g3 variant that is oficially unlocked is T-mobile one. However, the "bump" workaround works really good, so don't worry about it. When it comes to Sprint version You should take under consideration that it's a bit less popular than the international D855 edition, so it won't get the same attention that the former does. Tbh, I don't know how is it in other countries, but what really got me into buying G3 was the price/components ratio. It's a great phone worth its price, however like every other phone has its cons - what could be mentioned is heavy LG software + 4K resolution that make it a bit slowlier than the opposition, a bit less on-battery time (despite 3000 mha batter). On the other fronts, the LG G3 beats other companies - like camera, quality, ergonomy, price etc.
