[Q] Carbon Rom v 1.7 issue - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I just flashed the Carbon-JB-v1.7. I first went into recovery mode using TWRP and did a factory reset and wiped cache and Dalvik. It has a one button wipe which I used then I went back and wiped cache and Dalvik just to make sure. I then flashed the rom and latest gapps. The rom flashed perfectly but apparently the gapps didnt. I figured this since my home key wont work and from everything I read that is a symptom of not having gapps installed. I have goo manager and have tried repeatedly to redownload, wipe/factory reset, then re-install gapps to no avail. I also cannot get my pc to recognize my phone properly even though I have the current Samsung drivers for windows 7 installed. I also see that my sdcard isnt recognized even tho it's formatted in fat32. Any suggestions? The rom functions, I just need to put some apps on. What exactly happens after installing the gapps and rebooting is endless "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped.". I have been ok'ing them for about 10 mins straight. Unsure how many I have ok'ed or how many more there are.

You have the wrong GAPP package. I believe it should be 3/31
CARBON NIGHTLIES | KROZ THEMES | CABIN FEVER MAPLE WHISKY

Thanks

Can't Get a Clean install.... Need some help

I don't know what is wrong with my phone after trying to flash SenseGinger v2.1.2 (didn't work) then reflashed CM 7 RC 3 with Mattedblues theme, Then flashed to RC 4. But each time, i can't get a clean install.
Things like Mattedblues theme icons are there when I didn't even flashed the theme Also my old wallpaper is there too when its not even on the SD card. Also now my phones constantly reboots after trying to log into google after fresh install.
I cleared Factory reset/ Cleared Cache/ Cleared Dalvik cache/ Even installed a Blank SD with only the rom.
WHat the hell is going on??? is there is secret cache somewhere i forgot to clear?
help
if you have wifi enable it will do a bootloop, so after a install do a reboot and that should stop...try to do a clean install of RC4, also if you backed up from google it will restore everything even wallpaper

No no wifi no nothing. Tried it even without a google account login and its still goes crazy. I think somehow my past rom data doesn't get deleted, but i have no idea where they are hiding at....
Right now i am doing a full HTC signed rom install and going to see how it goes.

Issue flashing all custom roms

So I must be doing something wrong here. I had CM10 on my phone and upgraded to 10.1 . after i did that my txt and web icon from the bottom tool bar disappeared. So I flashed back to full stock (4.1.2) and started over with a different rom. I've tried 3 roms and get the same issues every time. 1) the txt and web icons are missing. 2) the theme does not load .
I do get the custom bootscreen when I load up and the custom menu under the setting menu so it seems like I'm loading only half the rom. right now I'm trying to get [ROM] [AOSPAL | MAGURO | B9 | 10.06.2013] Linaro 4.8 Optimized AOSPA to load.
I booted into recovery. wiped system cache, wiped dalivk, flashed rom, flashed gapps and flashed dalvik again. any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Stock for the gnex is 4.2 now flash the stock 4.2 then try it again

It might be me, but it looks rather weird.
My steps, using CWM usually are:
wipe data/factory reset
wipe /system
wipe dalvik
flash ROM
flash gapps
wipe dalvik
reboot.
Are you sure you did the factory reset option?

(Q) CarbonROM issue. G-apps?

Ok so ive been looking up different roms for the sprint GS3. I have found cm10, jellybam, freegs3, the peoples rom synergyROM, and carbonROM. So far i like jellybam, freegs3, and synergyROM. I was trying to use CarbonROM but every time i try to install g-apps for JB it has an error and kicks me out of the setup process. Ive tried a lot of different g-apps versions for JB and it gives the same error causing setup to FC. From there i have to battery pull and boot into recovery and revert to backed up rom. Ive fully wiped every time i have tried but still the same issue. Im trying to run CarbonROM v1.7 and the g-apps for JB dated 2013-03-01. Any ideas what is going wrong?

How exactly are you flashing, rom, then gapps, in the the same instance of recovery? what recovery are you currently using? How are you wiping phone prior to flashing?
Im using TWRP recovery v 2.5.0. Im also wiping cache, dalvik, system, and factory reset. The rom works fine without g-apps. But i cant access the android market or anything. I tried these ways: 1) perform full wipe, reboot into recovery, install rom, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot into recovery, install g-apps, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot system. 2) same as #1 but no rebooting into recovery. 3) same as #1 with no cache/dalvik wipe in between. 4) same as #2 with no cache/dalvik wipe in between. So im not exactly sure why its giving me a FC on setup with gapps.

Edit: Found the issue. Somehow the gapps were downloading and becoming corrupt. I opened the files on PC and then cleaned the old data up and redownloaded and it works just fine.

[Q] BootLoop Problem for Custom ROMs

Hi Guys,
I have a Rooted Galaxy Nexus. From Last Month, I am facing a strange problem. I had two custom roms stored in my machine
1. JB Sourcery 5.2
2. Xylon Maguro 2.7.7
I downloaded JBSourcery Encore, and tried to install it through Recovery. I have TWRP.
The TWRP program said that Installation of the ROM with Gapps package was successful. But when I Rebooted my phone, It got Stuck on the JBSourcery Logo while booting.
Then I switched back to JBSourcery5.2. It got installed perfectly.
After Some time , I installed XYLON rom with the same procedure. It also installed correctly, But when again I tried to install JBSourcery 5.2,
I faced the same problem I faced with JBSourcery Encore.
So, I switched back to XYLON 2.7.X.
Last week I copied PA3.99 custom rom with Android4.3. I installed it yesterday with new gapps package and it got installed correctly. I didnt like that rom interface so, I decided to go back to Xlon as it was the only working rom left in my phone. But when I tried to Load XYLON rom this time, then I went into BootLoop with XYLON Logo on the screen.
In Short, whenever I install a new rom on my phone, and if I switch back to my prevoius rom, then my previously working rom goes into bootloop. (Please note that I wipe cache/dalvik cache every time I install a new rom.)
Can Someone please help me to solve this issue???????
Please......

You noted in your post that you only wipe cache and davlik. When you install a rom your supposed to do a full system wipe. And for sh!ts and giggles, try using cwm instead of twrp to install your roms. I hear mixed things about twrp.

But if I perform System wipe, then all the data such as images, contacts, downloaded aplications will be wiped from my phone... right?
And if I take a backup of that data on PC, and then after installing a new rom, if I paste it back in the phone, will it work??

Yes you will loose all your user data when you do a full system wipe. ive never copied and pasted data from my phone to my pc and then back tbh, i just let it all sync with my google account. the applications will restore when you sync your google account to your phone after the wipe since you have to have a google account to use play store. if they are external applications (ones you downloaded the apks for and installed them manually) you will have to reinstall those, as playstore will not recognize them. just about every custom rom op gives you instructions on how to install the roms, and im pretty sure they all say you must wipe all data before installing. failure to do a system wipe, will cause boot loops.
You can use "titanium backup" Ort "helium" to save your apps and Data.
Images and music normaly won't be deleted. But you should make a Backup anyways.

[Q] Cannot install cm11. Stuck in blue kindle fire logo

I am unable to install either hashcode's or twa_priv's cm 11.0. Installing with TWRP results in the blue kindle fire logo.
I have TWRP 2.6.3.1 installed and I did a full wipe (system, data and reset).
I can reinstall CM 10.1 and do a restore, but trying to install 11.0 results in the blue logo.
Any suggestions?

Did you also wipe Cache and Dalvik? Did you check md5sum on your ROM download?

Looks like you did a full wipe of everything but SD card. Before flashing the ROM you only need to "swipe" Then after the install you wipe Cache and Dalvik only. Then boot into the system. I would try to install Hashcodes CM 11 first from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2543481 using the crackflasher mirror. Also check the md5sum of the zip.
If this does not work, it may require you to do a full system restore and go from there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I agree I probably deleted everything but the SD card. the crackflasher mirror doesn't seem to work. The md5 sum was correct.

This is the third instance of such an occurrence in recent times. Let's try 4.3 JB just to make sure there is nothing else going on (if you want?) Here is the latest release for Hashcodes 4.3 JB for KFHD 8.9 jem http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/jem/cm10.2/cm-10.2-20131115-UNOFFICIAL-jem.zip Feel like giving that a try? Only "swipe" in TWRP before flashing and then wipe only CACHE and Dalvick after flashing and before booting into system.

The 4.3 JB did not work. Had to do a full system restore to stock, reroot, and then install bootloader and then the cm10.2. One of the ROM updates must have really corrupted my kindle. The fact that some people have had similar problems must mean that there was a corrupt download or something.
Anyway the kindle is working now. Thanks for your help.
