Hello @loong4455
I'd certainly help you out.
I'd like you to know that... Relock File For Xperia S
Works for Arco S too.
I have tested it myself.
For Complete peace of your mind.
You can first Flash Stock ftf file for Your device,
Relock Arco S Using this file. Download it----> [Here]
Then Reapir Or Re Install STOCK from PCC or SUS
If you have any doubts,
Please refer to the original thread for relocking.

Didn't work for me, but I downloaded the update via PCC, than followed the instructions to make an .ftf from them and finally flashed it through flashtool. I just had to do it step by step, so I first made all the wipes (came from CM10.1 V.03), excluded everything else, then did flash only system, then kernel etc. Only TA failed constantly for me. Because TA fails everytime on me, I also couldn't relock the bootloader. But I am on stock JB now and all is working fine as far as I can tell!

[Q] [ARC Lt15i] rooted .42 FW with locked bootloader - how to upgrade to stock ICS?

Guys,
I have a Xperia LT15i with Locked Bootloader which is rooted and currently on .42 firmware.
With the new official Sony ICS update release, i'd want to move to stock ICS with latest firmware, can anyone please guide me how do i do it ??
Do I update using PC Companion or can it be done OTA ?
Also, once i update to stock firmware and stock ICS, is it still possible to root my device and keep the bootloader locked ???
I need the right advice, i am scared and dont want to end up with a bricked device...PLEASE HELPP
EDIT: I know there are lot of threads on the forum, but I am not an expert and scared to cater to this update and lose my beloved phone ...
if some one can just guide me with a step by step process, it will help a lot, it's a sincere request..!!
First of all, you can indeed upgrade!
ICS is not available through OTA, so you should go only by PCC for now.. But check if PCC shows that the update is available, because the update is available for only selective SI nos (to check your SI no remove your batrery and look in the sticker below the battery on your phone).. If PCC shows the update, then no problem!
If not, try downloading the ICS ftf file and flash using flashtool..
And for your last question, yes you can indeed root with a locked bootloader.. I'll post you the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683189

Thanks a lot prasad for the reply, I found my SI number in the update list yesterday on the sony blog post.
For the rooting process, is there a better explained tutorial ? The link that you have referred is good but lot of things are just to be assumed
There is a link to the sony blog with a similar tutorial but I am not able to locate it, can you help me find it please ?

Fast Xperia Arc Kernel

Hi All,
I have a rooted ICS Arc (4.1.B.0.431) with a locked bootloader. What is a good, fast kernel for it ? Thanks in advance.
Call me silly, but you the entire benefit of unlocking your bootloader is the ability to flash custom kernels. Therefore...locked bootloader means no custom kernel.
I'm no guru....so please, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong here...

first U Update your Phone to Fw.587 ,

I downgraded and upgraded kernel alone to achieve root for ICS...

I am unable to update to FW.587 OTA. The update center downloads the update and fails to update upon reboot (get an error here). I suppose my only option due to this is to flash the official .587 kernel. If I need to flash a kernel, why not a 'better' kernel ?
Then U Flash A FTF ,
Because For ME OTA Sucks !
Don't upgrade to .587. Lags too much, I went back to .431.
Kernel-wise, unlock your bootloader then try ArcKnight 3.5.1 or SEGA Kernel V3 Army edition.

[ROM][Stock ICS][FTF]Stock Xperia Acro S No Brand French FTF Rom

Hello guys,
After updating My Acro S i have done this directly from SEUS ..
It's an .ftf file so Flash with Flash tools
For them who kept there BootLoader locker (as me) just chek "Exclude Kernel" in Flashtools
No Brand , From France

If it's help You, hit thanks
Pims83, exactly what is this file ?
I would like to unlock my Acro and flash a custom ROM but there does not seem to be any custom ROMs that are very stable so I'm curious as to what this file is ?
Cheers, LL13-
Hi,
Plz before posting search.
- Stock, means that is the original ROM from Sony
- No brand, means there no modification from any provider
- .FTF, this type of file can be flashed with flashtools
So with this Rom you can't unSimLock your phone you have just the original rom from sony
I hope that help you

Hey i am getting an acro s very soon and was on the forums checking here. There seems to be no roms that are being developed that is good for the phone. Xperia S roms can work but you won't get the memory card to function. From what i have heard the phone performs excellent with the stock sony rom. Acro s isn't sold everywhere in the world that is why we might not see much custom roms for it.
Actually you hav 2 rom that are fully working for XPERIA ACRO S :
STOCK LT26w 6.1.A.2.50 Modded by Pims 83 that work with locked bootloader
or
Erachter ROM v5.1 but you need an unlocked Bootloader
that all for now

Will this work on an Acro HD (SO-03D from Docomo)

Yes, but be careful about flashing the baseband, or you might not be able to get a signal (happend to me when I flashed a Taiwanese Ftf onto my Acro HD). Either exclude the baseband, or have an ftf of a Docomo rom handy, and flash just the baseband from that if it doesn't work.
I'll give it a go then.
Thanks
I've installed it, worked perfectly. Then I got the message there was an update, so I installed that as well, no more connection to my provider.
Luckily I had a Docomo firmware at hand, flashed the Docoma baseband and now everything works perfectly without the Japanese apps on it.
Thanks.
Since I flashed this ROM, I can no longer enter flash mode to load another ROM with flash tool (I push vol down while connecting to the USB, it just starts charging)

Odd, never had that problem. Did you start flash tool with the phone pluged into the USB, then turn it off and unplug the USB before turning the phone off?
I let flash tool running, unplugged the phone an powered it down
hi do you have jellybean stock FTF file?

"Always working" method is flash 6.1.A.2.50 with Flashtool (without wiping anything, except if you wish) and root with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Rooting itself is done in 5 minutes. Flashing? Also 5 mins.
6.1.A.2.55 firmware is not rootable, you can just flash prerooted .55 rom in CWM, but for that you still need rooted .50.

Need to go back to Sony's stock ics

I'm selling my phone so i need to install everything back as it was(official ics 4.0.4 with .587 kernel) because stock rom doesn't have bugs.
I'm currently using Xperia Ultimate HD on advance stock kernel...
i need someone to write me the steps, and I will do them... many thanks!
Download Flashtool
Download the appropriate ftf (LT15i/LT18i)

Thanks for the help...
What does the ftf file includes?
Does it also include stock kernel and baseband with the firmware? or do I have to install them manually?
**I'm currently on .72 baseband, do I have to change it?

I recommend you flash the GB rom, since it is fast. ICS is laggy. I don't think the buyer would be satisfied if it lagged

Yes but then when the buyer connects the phone to a pc, it will prompt him to install pc companion. Then it will prompt him to install ICS. So then, he will have a choice . But if it came with ICS and he didn't like it, it will be harder to downgrade to GB in that case. So better flash the stock GB

I did everything... All done.. Thank you all guys
I installed this firmware: Official ICS update Arc&Arc-S 4.1.B.0.431
And then relocked bootloader...
But now I have notification: system update available 4.1.B.0.587 , should I update or not? I read somewhere on xda that users were reporting bricked phones after OTA updates... because of unlocked bootloader (they said).. And I don't want that next user to click on it and then have a bricked phone, and I can't just hide the notification... if they do factory rest , the notification will pop up...
so now is it ok to update or not? or if you can link me to 4.1.B.0.587 firmware to install it...

Yes I relocked it, is it ok to update it now guys??
I relocked it using this method: [Tutorial] Relock bootloader!
As quoted from this method: "You still can't get DRM back. It's gone from the phone!"...
Would have been much simpler to just flash a stock 587 ftf.
