Hello,
I have built a new application named MusicTimeOff. You can find it in this link
A big part of coding was done with my nexus 7.
I have tested in a htc one , it works like a charm.
The app stops the music after a certain period of time which use will define. It works with all music - video players .
This idea came to me when I left my phone playing music at night and in the morning it was dead ( battery 0% ) so I thought a program to stop music will be useful. Furthermore , the other apps in the market is more complicated and some of them is paid, so I developed this app alone.
There are also other useful features.
Check it out , it worths the time.
Leave feedback , tell me whether you liked it or not and what should i improve.
Super cool man! Thanks, I usually fall asleep to music and I have been looking for something just like this!
Nice Job! Downloading now :good:
Very good idea! Ill give it it a try, thank you!

If you like this app , don't forget tp spread the word so as other people will know too.

Hey guys any of you use pandora? If so do you use the widget? I had plenty of android devices prior to the g2 (eris, droid 1, cliq, nexus one, hd2 on android) and all of them had the widget to put on one of the home screens. With the g2 however I cannot find it!? I did send an email to the dev but I wanted to see if any of you can see the widget.
Thanks for your help.

It's because you have Pandora installed to your SD card. For the widget to appear you have to have it installed on the phone. You can't just move it to the phone from the SD card. You need to uninstall it then reinstall it so it installs onto the phone for the ability to see the widget.
That did the trick thanks!

I realize that this is a completely useless response, but the Panodra widget shows up on my G2 in the exact same manner as it did on my G1. Long press, widgets and scroll down and hit the Pandora icon and there it is..... Wish I could help more, but that's all I got.
EDIT.... good God I'm slow.... and now it's making me wait 5 minutes to add this edit....
My Pandora sounded like crap so I un-installed it. I like Slacker better anyways...lol
I agree Pandora does sound like crap especially compared to last.fm but last.fm won't play an entire song without skipping to the next! What's the deal with that?
Seems you guys pandora sounds bad but I play it through earbuds and I can't complain. Maybe I'm deaf.

Pandora sounding bad is an issue with Android 2.2 Froyo and the AAC+ audio.. will hopefully be fixed in a future OTA.
Info here:
http://blog.pandora.com/faq/contents/10002.html
Also make sure you go to pandora preferences and set the audio quality to high. Its on low by default.
I started a thread like this on the other Sub-Forum for the G2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8596795#post8596795
I e-mailed both HTC and Pandora and all they do is point fingers at each other.
I really hope a fix is in the works. I'm gonna email HTC again and let them now what the Pandora rep told me by e-mail.

Slacker is way better than Pandora. Just saying. Try it!
I just realised winamp is available on the market now... And it is good. At last! A decent music player. Don't know if ye were aware so I said I'd post. Enjoy!
Yep, been using it a bit over a week I think (various places had news items on it in my RSS feeds, good way to keep up on noteworthy new app releases!).
A few things that could be better, but really nice first iteration isn't it?
have u tried power amp... just try it its awesome way more thn winamp..
Hey community just wanted to let ya'll know about this app I have been using called screebl. It works well for people who read rss feeds and articles on their phone and are always upset because the screen times out. The way it works is this app recognizes what degree your are holding your phone when in use and dims when its flat or you set it to a certain degree. It has really helped me with managing my battery life so I don't have to leave my display timeout to 10 minutes.
You guys can read more about it here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5rZXllcy5zY3JlZWJsLmxpdGUiXQ..
free download or you can get the paid app.
PS. Yes it has been covered in XDA although I feel a lot of users can benefit from this.
Disclaimer: I have no association with this app what so ever, just think it's awesome and you guys might need it!
More about Screebl can be found here

hello all, just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with webcam/secuity apps and if they had any recommendations or tips. basically im wanting to take one of my extra android phones so i don't have to use my s3 and put it in my window aimed to my front yard. id really like to have it record constantly through the entire night over my wifi and save to one of my pc's. something is tearing my yard up at night, either the lil neighborhood kids or animals or an army of mole crickets. i don't wanna go the motion route incase it is mole crickets that is why im looking to go the record entire night avenue. any suggestions on an app that seems to fit the build would be greatly appreciated. thanks

There's one app that completely turns your phone's camera into a webcam, i had one where the cable had to be connected but now a days might even be wireless. Something like this might work for you. Then have your computer record the webcam feed using a recording software like manycam or Cyberlink or something like that.

You know what, there are a lot of cool apps like the one i posted. here is the entire search list i did on the play sstore.
It's not going to work. Any phone camera won't pick up enough light in the dark to get a clear picture. The easiest way is to buy a webcam and USB extension cord and just use the computer.
Another method is to make a Skype name like dkdhsbj18374 and set it to auto accept video chat. That's for survelliance from a remote location. You can also start the Skype video and use a screen recorder on your PC. Still the quality will be garbage in low light though.

i do appreciate the first set of info u gave. would you happen to remember the app name you were referring to? as for the play store search list thanks but i had already tried that approach only to find so many and it seems as if the user comments never correctly reflect the apps rating. that's why i figured it would be good to ask here and get a more xda-ish recommendation as we seem to hold way higher standards than average joe in the market with a comment like " f#c#kn sucks! Fc on ny G1" or "eh, its ok. best freakin app ever! FTW!" but thanks for your help.

hahah yeah thats true! I blame the market, they dont allow you to type a lot.
But i cant remember the exact name, not to mention the quality was horrible. This was maybe like 4 years ago when i had my Touch pro 2. But i just downloaded DroidCam last night and its freaking awesome. Love the option to have the light on, plus the quality is phenomenal!
Just tested out IPWebcam and its really cool. Best feature: being able to turn screen off and still use it. Its browswer based, you can put the URL into a media player and stream the contents, or you can right click and click save as to record the contents. Live latency is really horrible but might be because of my wifi. But once its recorded its all synced up. Actually am going to use this to see into places i normaly cant, like when working on my car Thanks for having me discover this
Camera and lighting issues aside, iSpy will do time lapse recording on a schedule (very configurable), and it is free so long as you don't need their online features (remote access, sms/email alerts upon motion detection, etc). It has by far the most options of any PC based surveillance software I've found.
Hi everyone!
I'm having some issue with my 3M Worktunes Connect headphones which I'm using whole day long at work.
The soundquality is pretty poor on my Radio App which I'm listening while working (I'm a Belgian living in Finland so it's the only way).
When I listen to Spotify, I have access to the equaliser and I can fine-tune the sound pretty good but in my radio app I can't get access to it.
I've tried all the available options from the Google Play store but none of them work. At the installation it always says there is already an equaliser installed (Sound FX if I remember correctly).
Does anyone have a solution to this?
I'm not rooted and I'm actually not looking forward to do so.. I bought the Android One phone so I could just sit back and enjoy a clean, smooth running Android without having to stress ?
Thanks in advance!
Okay, maybe my question was not clear or the solution is so simple that nobody feels like sharing it with me ?
I'll survive with crappy sounds I guess...
Thanks anyway for taking the time to read through my problem description.
Greetings, Sam
You could try this app call Neutralizer. It works system-wide.
Just a side note, for the best sound you'll have to take a minute or two to setup it up properly to make full use of it.
Unfortunately I'm unable to add the play store link here.
Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the suggestion!
I'll give it a try!
Greetings!
Sadly enough it's not working either, just like any other third party equaliser on my Nokia 8.1
Thanks for the effort!
I'm using Poweramp. Works great, but it's not system wide
