My DHD as an internet modem - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
how could I setup my DHD as an internet modem for my pc?

It's called USB teathering I'm sure, a lot of roms have this as a on-board feature. Needs USB cable and drivers for pc.

[Q] New to galaxy nexus and need help with usb problem

Hi, I'm new to the galaxy nexus. I used to use the rezound.
So far everything seems fine except usb connect to the computer.
The usb works fine when charging, but when I connect to my computer for storage or unlocking, I get "USB device not recognized" problem.
The samsung driver has been installed and debugging has been turned on as well.
Also, when I was using the rezound, there were no usb problems.
Am I missing something or having a defect device?
Guess you are on windows xp?

So this : (took from jubakuba thread)
Get the drivers:
Uninstall any previously attempted drivers if they don't work and move to the next.
Samsung's website has a download here under "Manuals & Downloads > Software."
Option Two: Try this one as well.
PDAnet's drivers may work if the above options don't. Simply install PDAnet (after uninstalling any previous attempted driver installations) to get the drivers.
While that is downloading, on your Galaxy Nexus: turn USB debugging on.
This can be found in Settings>Developer Options>USB Debugging

Thank you, I'll try the third option
Whoops nevermind.

Thats a little too short question.
Please provide more info.
Ok to make a shorter question longer, is it possible to update apps thru an usb cable connected to a computer instead of using wi-fi or mobile network?

There is a way to use your computer's internet on your phone via USB, (Google for reverse tether) but it doesn't work for play store downloads unfortunately. But if you have the apk files on the computer you can install via adb...
Sent from my MB525 using xda app-developers app
Provided you have the new APK it is possible using Droid Explorer.
If what you want to do is not use WiFi or your 3G, you could use the PC Internet while connected thru USB, this last option is not available for all phones tho.
If you only need internet connection from computer then try connectify for sharing your PC's connection wirelessly.
Search android reverse tether... it very easy!

USB connection problems

Hello, I've been trying to get my phone to connect to my mac via USB but have had no luck. I've tried Kies, AFT but nothing has worked out. I'm just trying to transfer my music and bluetooth takes way to long. I've searched other threads but it seams like no one has come up with a solution to the problem, is there anyone who can point me in the right direction or have a simple fix? I'm running CM Nightly 10.1 20130222 and my Mac is running Lion 10.7.5. Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

Is that the factory cable included with the phone? Different (even rear) usb ports? Sorry for the small questions. Starting at the bottom

USB Reverse Tethering on Linux

I've tried a couple of tutorials, but without luck...
Does anybody was successful in seting up USB reverse tethering on Linux (I'm using Mint 15)? I've got adb/fastbot drivers, but it won't work

I know for sure there is a program for Windows that works, maybe you could get that one and run it in. WINE? it's worth a shot I guess

It's live USB... I don't have space for Wine... btw, I was trying playing with Wine in the past, but without luck... and I'm pretty sure that reverse tethering net will be slower with emulated profram

Though I have not tried it, when I connect the USB cable I go to Mobile Network Sharing and I see the option for internet passthrough.

For that particular reason, Bro, that you have forgotten to install HTC SYNC on the PC connected..

Is it possible to re-enable this option?
If it is disabled by your carrier then a custom ROM should give you the option back
