Trackpad going crazy

Does anyone's trackpad start going crazy at times? Mine will just start acting like I'm using it even though my fingeris no where near it. It has done it on every rom that I have used. Any suggestions?
Mine does it sometimes, I think it just means it's dirty. If I give it a quick wipe with my shirt or something, it usually stops.
Mine has done it twice both time I just clicked it and it stopped

You should lick the optical pad once in the morning and then at lunch time.. No problems, now!
Won't food get caught in it or just make sure that you brush your teeth first?
Sent by that voice in my head.
The stock rom always gave me problems with it, so I'm using a evo rom and I have no problems

I've only had problems with that when my phone is getting hot.

Does your SIII heat up at the bottom when under heavy load?

Just curious if anybody else's gets pretty warm after surfing the web and listening to some music or another instance was while video chatting with my wife? Is this been the case or do I have a defect. The vibrant I came from never really did.
Yea it gets a little warm but nothing to worry about. Let's not forget how thin the back cover is.... So you will feel it warm.

Yeah, mine gets warm. I don't consider it "HOT"
Ditto....it heats up...and i feel it through my case...have not given it much thought thou.

yup definitely gets hot. Usually it's ok but when it's really hot outside it can be bothersome but not to the point that it burns or anything. At least not yet lol.
Thanks guys, I feel better.
If you are too worried use some app that will display battery temperature. I use wifi tether. My battery goes to max 37 degree Celsius after gaming for half an hour. That's not bad considering the battery is designed to operate upto 60 degrees.

Mine gets hot after about 20 minutes browsing the web without letting the screen turn off once, but it always cools back down really fast. I was freaking out the first couple of times this happened because T-mobile's exchange policy is retarded and slow. I waited long enough for the phone I didn't want to have to wait longer for a replacement. I also have an issue that has been happening ever since I bought the phone. I tried searching, but got nothing. com.process.google.gapps always force closes, but after I hit okay everything runs great. When it happens it does freeze everything on the phone except the notification bar. Then when it finally says com.process.google.gapps has stopped and needs to close, I just hit the okay button and it's like nothing ever happened. Anybody else have this problem and if so know what's causing it?
Mine can get pretty warm too to the point where my hand gets greasy/ sweaty a little .. gets annoying

Used my phone for navigation yesterday, perched on my dash in the blazing sun, screen on for an hour and GPS on using Bluetooth for music. Got to 44.8C.

Did you have any issues? Like the phone slowing down, rebooting or even shutting off due to an over heat?
Mine gets warm as well, but not "hot," so I don't worry about it.
After flashing new kernel. It doesn't feel so warm. I don't run it overclocked.

Dead pixels?

About two weeks ago I noticed that there appwared to be an image of some sort burned into my screen like the older LCD TV's used to do if they where left on to long. I was gonna just buy a new phone since I'll get the upgrade price but I think it was either the next day or the following day everything was fine. Now again earlier today I noticed the samething was happening just in a different pattern. Is this a sign that my screen is dying on me?

The other strange thing is I can only see them on a white screen like xda, text or facebook

Not had any problems like that on mine yet...
Usually most apps do well to make use of the screen estate unlike iOS.

Great to hear. I keep trying to find something wrong with this phone so I do not want it.. but I cannot and release date is fast approaching. I bought the evo 4glte just a few Short months ago and when I heard about this phone I convinced my hubby he really wanted it and I was going to live vicariously through him. Well it was my day yesterday and he wrapped up a cutout of the phone and stylist and said he was going to get the phone and give it to me and he will take my evo. This would have been the first time ever he had a better anything than me .. guess I feel a tad guilty.. like I should say no its your turn for a new phone you keep it.. but man this phone rocks.. the bigger screen will be nice for me since I have horrible vision. Can't wait for it to be released.

Can a battery get a short?

My phone has been randomly turning off for no reason. But only when I'm on battery, does nothing when I'm plugged up. I haven't dropped it or done anything to damage it. It's just a little under a year and a half old. At first I thought it was my rom being screwy. So I flashed back to PA 1.98 and it still turns off randomly. When it turns back on the battery will be about 25%-70% lower than it was when it died. So I'm thinking my battery has a short in it or something that makes it lose power randomly long enough for the phone to turn all the way off, but I don't wanna drop the money for a new one (broke right now...stupid speeding ticket) just for it to still be messing up. So does anyone know of any software/rom issues that would be causing this? I'm currently running Condemned's CM7.
If it's a short mine has one as well. I'll get a black screen then nothing n it'll pop back on after a semi short wait or battery pull n same about the battery.

Well it is a year and a half old phones do tend to age and as well as battery. I'd look for batteries on amazon maybe even a new charger.

not only did a new battery fix the problem, i got one for 6.39 free shipping off amazon and now my battery literally last 4 times as long.
