Ok my bootloader is locked, my phone is the At&T xperia play. I rooted my phone recently and found out that my bootloader was locked and couldn't be unlocked on the service info on the phone. I recently used x-parts by pvyParts, and that helped me a lot with putting Aurora play 1.0.1 rom on my locked xperia play. I really want to install lupus kernel on my phone for gaming is it possible for me to install a kernel though though x parts on the CWM recovery menu ?

Dont spread misinformation! R800at cant be unlocked for free from SONY. The only way to unlock R800at version is to pay for the bootloader unlock.

Hello XDA, I've got a rooted Xperia Play running the Xperia NXT ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649368). I would like to unlock the bootloader and boot into fastboot mode but when I enter *#*#7378423#*#* and check the Bootloader status, I see "Bootloader unlock allowed: No". I've heard there is a way around this, could someone help me? I'd love to install the doom ICS kernel on my phone and a new ROM. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Phone is AT&T, R800i, and I also know what my IMEI number is

Hello,
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and I'm starting in the android world, I've read a lot here on the forum already informed me about what I do to boost my smartphone, I wanted to install a new ROM, and follow what the most part of the posts say, I started by installing the most current Baseband, do Root (all this through FlashTool), install the X-Parts, put the CWM for Stock GB, but when I restart in recovery mode it always starts in normal mode, never enters the recovery, nor with the selection keys or through the X-Parts.
The Smartphone has a locked bootloader, and did what they say on the website that Sony only in internal settings says that this smartphone is not entitled to have the bootloader unlocked.
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or if there is no solution without the Bootloader Unlocked?
Thank you for availability
Best regards,
Cristóvão Guerra

Search for xparts on here and download one of the older versions. For some reason xparts v5 from the play market doesn't work. Also what version of Xperia play do you have? R800x (Verizon) or do you have GSM version and if it says you can't unlock boot loader you'll have to pay 20 dollars to get it unlocked from an unlock site. Also you can install stock based roms while you're bootloader is locked if you donf want to pay to unlock it.
Please press thanks if I helped.

Do what abdel12345 said for the CWM. If you have an r800x Xperia Play it is unlockable i think. My phone said it couldn't be unlocked either but when i went through the steps i came out with an unlocked bootloader so i think verizon just wants to trick the r800x users.
i have a R800i, v. 2.3.4, baseband 4.0.2.A.0.58, so can you tell me who I have to talk to unlock the bootloader?

Also, for recovery, try using version 5 of X-Parts. The later versions don't seem to work

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Quite a while ago I had an itch to upgrade my ROM, long story short I found out that I had a locked bootloader which I found out in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2238517
Anyway, after a good few months I decided to flash my phone with Aurora play for locked bootloaders. After messing with with the phone I tried to unlock the bootloader via the official Sony method, this returned with the error that the loader was unlocked!
I loaded up Doomkernel and Aurora and the phone is working fine.
Anyway, with Doomkernel and Aurora working ok is it safe to assume I have and unlocked phone and can try out other ROMs/kernels some part of me thinks my phone could be a little bit damaged/querky from unlocking?
Cheers.

If you have doomkernel, then you have unlocked bootloader (you can't flash custom kernel with locked bootloader)
Now you can freely flash custom kernel/roms...
There is nice list or roms/kernels at Xperia Play Index - ROM'S, FIRMWARE, KERNEL'S, GUIDE'S, THEMES, MOD'S

Yeah, but its so strange. In the thread I linked in my OP all software tests came back that I had a locked bootloader I've not done anything else to the phone so I am kind of confused on what has happened.
Thanks for your post to confirm that the loader is unlocked. now I can test some more ROMs!
Is it possible for me to Install real ROMs to my Xperia Play R800x CDMA with a locked bootloader? I'm not talking about ROMs like Cola6, i mean stuff like AuroraPlay and stuff(Of course for CDMA). I understand i can't install custom kernels with the Locked bootloader and my bootloader can't be unlocked, so are there any ROMs that are possible to be installed to a CDMA XPlay that doesn't need a custom kernel? I would very much appreciate it! Thanks!
As if now the only actual rom tjat can be installed on a locked bootloader (from xperiance) is darkforest 3.0.5 which is verizon 2.3.3 and why can't you unlock the bootloader I got my code for unlocking from sony copied it and used flashtool to unlock my bootloader

I can't unlock my bootloader because the *#*#7378423#*#* menu has the option missing meaning it isn't possible. I wish i could because it would be so much better and i don't understand why some of these phones aren't possible and some are.

To be honest I never read the instructions on the sony site, I do not know what that menu will tell me if I flash a factory firmware. I do know that my R800x has been unlocked. It will not hurt to ignore step 1 there and follow the rest. If it works you have unlocked your bootloader. If not it only took about 5-15 mnutes.

Yes you can unlock it, verizin locked that part so we weren't able to think that we ever could inlock the boot loader, sony supports the unlocking if the cdma xperia play, I unlocked mine by gettjng the code to unlock and usinf flashtool while connected to the internet
