I have a stock GN, rooted, but still running stock ROM. Anyways, a couple weeks ago, I started noticing issues with the cell connection. The cell signal triangle would lose all bars and turn into just a blue outline of the triangle (i.e. not gray in the middle). Mobile data wouldn't work, and toggling airplane mode wouldn't bring it back. Rebooting the phone seemed to fix the problem, but it just happens again every couple days.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Have you tried searching on here for another radio?
Find one compatible for your particular device, download and extract to where adb is.
Then boot into fastboot mode (with unlocked bootloader) and type fastboot flash radio (name of radio file).img
fastboot reboot
Should improve reception hopefully.

I don't think it's a reception issue, as I usually have 3 - 5 bars at home when this happens (not that it's limited to happening at home). I'd rather not install a different radio, as it's using the stock radio and I don't want to add more complexity to the issue.
I'll try and get a screenshot of the status screen next time this happens.
Radio is updated. Even with the latest build of android, you may not have the latest radio.
Upgrading the radio should definitely help if you're willing to take a chance.
I had similar issue with both stock and custom ROM. Upgrading my radio has helped and I never get a disconnection problem.
Hope that helps

Update bootloader to the latest version as well. Use "GetRil" app to check that your RIL and radio firmware version match.

Mobile Network State Disconnected
OK...I’ve been having this problem for a few months now. I can make calls, text, access voice mail...I just can’t connect to the internet without being connected to a WIFI network. I can’t send email or receive email or use an app that requires internet access.
I’ve tried...
*rebooting
*switching WIFI on and off (it is set to automatically connect to a WIFI)
*removing and reinserting the battery
*drained the battery completely and then charged it completely
*going into airplane mode and back out
*updating profile and PRL
It is data enabled and set to connect to data services when roaming.
I have no SD card.
CDMA is set to automatic (there’s only 2 choices: Home only and Automatic)
Preferred network mode is LTE/CDMA. (Again, 2 choices: LTE/CDMA and CDMA) I’m at home now...turned off WIFI on phone and changed network mode to CDMA. Opened Chrome and it opened the page. I went back to LTE/CDMA and it opened the same page. I’ll have to try that when I'm running errands or something and not logged on to a WIFI.
I finally took it to a Sprint store here on Friday, May 9th. Spent about 10-15 minutes with the person. It was fixed and working when I left the store.
Guess what? It’s disconnected. Again.
I’ve had this phone for a little over a year. So far, I’ve replaced the charging cable (twice, not including the ones I broke) and battery. I can’t change phones until next year without shelling out a few hundred bucks--which I don’t have.
Any help and/or suggestions (even sympathy at this point) would be helpful. I’m extremely frustrated!

Hi guys, this being one of my first posts here, please tell me if i'm missing some information
Ok so, i've had this radio problem with my HTC Desire for the last 2 or 3 months, the phone randomly disconnects the cell towers and cant connect to mobile data, send or receive sms messages or phone calls.
I've put the logfile in this paste bin having put some comments along the way with it.
well okay i cant link to outside the forum apparently but ill just attach the file then
1. It all starts perfectly fine
Lines 0-30
To this point it works perfectly fine as it sould, but somewhere between then and ~1½ hour, this happens (there are no time logged in the radio logs (or anywhere?) anyways, i turn on the phone from sleep, and notices an notification about android not being able to connect to TDC Mobil and the signal indicator showing a cross above the bars:
2. Then something goes wrong
Lines 33-130
(the last lines repeating them selfs) is me asking the phone for available networks and trying to connect to my operator "TDC Mobil". The phone's display just reads something like could not connect to this network at this time in a toast, and nothing more.
I'm not sure if the phone drops the network when i turn on the phone, but i believe the phone had been without signal for like 30-45 minutes.
So, i change the phone's radio off by turning on airplane mode:
3. I try to fix it
Lines 140-203
When its gone airplane mode i wait a few seconds and removes the airplane mode again, and the phone connects just fine to the cell towers once again:
4. It works again
Lines 208-430
At the moment i'm using adamg's Oxygen 2 RC5 with radio 32.49.00.32u_5.11.05.27.
But i've tried everything, 4 or 5 of the different radios available, the recommended radio adamg suggests and its been a problem since OpenDesire 2 or 3. The same problem persists.
The phone is S-OFF (with the N1Table) and before that the problem also existed. The only thing i can read of the above logs would be some issues about the sim card, if you look then the phone reconnects to the network after coming out of airplane mode theres some sim icc_io errors, should i replace my sim card?
Any help or suggestions are very welcome, and happy new year
changed icc, seems to do the trick
Build: IMM76I
Baseband: I9250XXLA2
If I don't enable data, the phone works fine. I can receive and make calls just fine.
Once I turn on data connectivity, data works fine for a while. Like 40-45 seconds. After that, the connection sort of gets stuck. I cannot make any calls, and if I call my number, I get a 'not reachable' message. The indicator in the notification bar will show full bars for a while, then if I got Settings >> Wireless & Networks >> More >> Network operators to do a manual search for network, the status bars drop to zero, become an 'x', and then go to full again. The behavior then repeats.
Bootloader is unlocked.
Any kind of help will be appreciated.
If it helps, I have the NTT Docomo version of the Galaxy Nexus (SC-04D) that is sold in Japan, but I live (and use the phone) in India.
Are the APN's set up properly for your carrier?
I'm assuming you've tried the usual toggling of airplane mode and rebooting, etc.?
APN is setup correctly, which is why the data connection works fine for a minute or so.
Toggling Airplane mode often does nothing at all, since the cellular connectivity system seems to be stuck, even when it does, it takes a loooong time for Airplane mode to get enabled in the first place, and disabling it takes even longer.
Rebooting the phone fixes the issue, but it returns very quickly (within a minute or so after rebooting).
Also, another similar thread over here mentioned that their problem got solved by flashing the FuguMod kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438417
I flashed the kernel successfully, but the problem still persists.
Mine is doing the same thing. I'm out of ideas.
i'm starting to think this problem is extremely common.

it will be really useful if everybody was under same thread! =o)
Hi Guys,
So, I've been using the GNex for about a month. I moved to this phone from a Moto Atrix and here is what I have noticed and have looked around but didn't see any good answers to these questions I am having. Hopefully I get some answers here.
Device info:
GNex GSM version on ATT.
Running JB 4.1.1 Stock with Trinity Kernel (rooted and bootloader unlocked).
Issue #1: I get really bad reception at work. But, when I leave the building, my phone doesn't automaticaly connect back to the network. Sometimes, if I don't check my phone, it's been like that all night long until the next day when I have tried to make a call and it said "No Network Available" and I have to either reboot or toggle airplane mode to get back on the network. Am I missing something? In my past experience with other devices, they try to automatically connect back to the network when they loose connectivity. Also, if I get in an elevator during a call and the call gets dropped due to network unavailability, it doesn't connect back to the network and I have to toggle airplane mode. Has anyone else had this issue?
Issue#2: This is with the stock mail app. Specifically the search in this mail app. No matter what, it always returns zero results. Has anyone had this issue with the Mail App? If I use the Gmail app, it works fine. That's what I am using now, but am curious as to what I may be missing that make it not return any search results in the stock mail app.
Q3: Speed Dial: How do you set speed dial on the dialer? Is it even supported?
thanks in advance,
vG

it could be to do with your radio, what version is it? baseband version in about phone. im no expert but when i flashed a jellybean rom i had to update my radio afterwards cause my signal was dropping alot. i also had the same problem later on but that was down to my network operator. before i realised it was them i googled my problem and a few forums suggested that my sim card was goosed. so maybe check those three possibilities? i cant help with the other two issues unfortunately but good luck sorting it out!

Hi all,
Im on Viper Rom 6.2.1 Rom, Elite Lunar Kernel, and latest OTA radio.
My 4G connection is great when connected, I hit the 40s and 50s download speed.
The problem im having is that when the data connection is idle for like 30 seconds, all of a sudden I lose data connection. the 4G LTE logo is still showing but the download/upload activity arrows no longer flashes. It goes back when I turn mobile data off then on again. Then I lose connection again when idle.
What could be the problem?
Thanks

I just had a similar problem recently like this. Turns out i burned out my 4g sim card. Before changing roms or firmware i would suggest going into a VZW store and get a new one. They are free, they dont even look at the phone. Just tell them LTE connectivity isn't working correctly and that the sim card is bad. they will give you another one.

Thanks. I figure it was probably the sim card. I will try that.
I am having a similar situation. I have data loss after having hotspot on for a little while and any type of reboot is the only remedy (restart of shell, full reboot, adb reboot, etc). I already swapped Sims at the Verizon store, tried different roms, tried flashing different firmware and radio combinations. Any suggestions?

I too am having similar issues, though it appears more random than associated with using hotspot.
Every few hours, all radio connectivity but Wifi shuts off. I get the no service icon in the status bar. Only a reboot fixes the issue.
Running teamEcliptic Rom 4.4.3 v1.4, kernel: EliteLunar 3.4.10, baseband: 1.13.41.0421, build: 6.06.401.1.
Soff, unlocked, root, etc.
When I have time to spare plan to restore a stock rom (keeping S-off though) to see if that fixes the issue.
Any advice from those more versed in the One M7 would be appreciated!
So I got this phone from my Grandpa who recently passed. I was able to insert my AT&T SIM, reboot, and use the phone as normal on 4G+ without any issues what so ever.
Fast foward 24 hours and after rebooting my phone a couple of times and accidentally "Updating Profile" my 3G/4G no longer wants to connect. What's strange is Voice and Text still work as long as the text isn't a MMS since that server is also no longer connecting.
I have confirmed the radio is functioning as I can switch it off, verify it's receiving signal from the nearest WCDMA tower through the 4636 menu.
As well as airplane mode and wifi are working
Sometimes my wifi will not connect first-time unless I "forget this network" and use WPS button on Router to connect - it's like my phone won't authenticate the network once a password is entered. Once connected it stays connected without issue.
Some things I have tried already:
I have attempted to change APN settings to strictly AT&Ts 3G connection - no luck.
I've installed custom ROM, Recovery (Bad Boyz HTC 10 Oreo Stock ROM, TWRP) - no luck.
I've reinstalled stock firmware from HTC RUU - no luck.
Got a new SIM from AT&T and had a tech "diagnose" my phone - no luck.
I've searched all over the internet and found multiple threads about having no signal or no IMEI, but this doesn't completely fit my issue as you can see in my pictures I still have a valid IMEI and cell signal. AT&T said everything is fine on their end regarding my phone, but since it is not an AT&T phone any other support I'm going to have to find elsewhere (Screw AT&T)
The only other thing I can think to try is purchasing a Sunshine license to S-OFF and try manually deleting the radio partitions and then reflashing an older radio or stock radio, but I'd rather not spend $25 for this solution to not work or further complicate my matters.
My question is has anyone experienced this random loss of 4G connection but still have the ability to call and text on their HTC 10? I know this is an older phone, but I really like this phone after using my LG V20 for so long.
UPDATE: Put the SIM in my LG V20 that I was using prior to switching to this device and it is also now having the same issues.... Wtf is going on?
Thanks for any responses!

At your own risk, this:
In the bootloader enter these commands:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
(this will wipe the faulty modem partitions we are about to reset)
