Hacked hot sprint hot spot and multi Window all apps... - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey all, thanks in advance for reading and possibly replying!
I am currently on mc2 deodexed stock rom, and flashed both the mc2 hot spot fix for sprint native hotspot, as well as the multi Window for all apps zip. No matter what I do (fix perms, dalvik / cache wipe, reflash, redownload), I cannot get both of these features working together!
When the hotspot works, multi window only allows all apps to fill the entire screen. When I flash m/w, hotspot fails to launch with the default error message from sprint.
I really want to run the stock hotspot over wifi tether, simply because the main difference between both tether apps is that the native app allows dlna or ftp server services to be recognized by another device connected to it, like the phone is both a server and a separate gateway, where wifi tether treats the phone only as a hot spot.
I use this feature to stream from my phone to an ipad or laptop, without the need for a tertiary device to handle routing duties.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Its possibly due to both mods modification of the services.jar maybe they overwrite each other somehow. Hopefully a dev can shed some light on this

Here I have only tested this on Synergy ROM R78 which is a deodexed rom. I have implemented the hotspot mod that was posted by crawrj so i take no credit. I merely added the mod in with the all apps multiwindow mod. If you flash I'm not responsible for any disasters this may cause to your phone. Make a backup before you flash. Hope this helps you out

Wow! Thanks! I'll try now. Already nandroided.

Worked like a charm! Thank you so much! I rely heavily on both these features, it's the only reason I stay with touchwiz!

No problem glad it worked for you too

Will this work on mc2 deodexed

Should work nandroid and try it.

Wifi tethering issues.

I'm trying to use my Wifi tethering, it always shows an error about ad-hoc. I disabled via titanium backup the 2 or 3 components so TMO Can't track, however still won't work.
Thanks in advance.

Wi-Fi Tether Issues... Help!!

I believe my phone is rooted... & I was able to use my phone as a modem, using the wi-fi tether app, for a long time.. Then I didn't use it for months. I tried to use it today, but I don't think it's working any longer.
Are there any specific setting that I need to set, in order for it to work? Is there anything I need to look or check for, to make sure it's all good? Is there anything I CAn download to make it work for sure??
I am on Android 2.3.6
Still using gingerbread el29
sprint epic 4g touch
Any help would be appreciated!!

Use 3.1 beta 14 and set device profile to galaxy nexus (cdma/lte) should work from there

also..if initially it doesn't work change setup method to ad hoc
It's not working. Not even showing up in the list of available networks on my PC. It used to work. I dunno why it stopped.. This sucks
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Might i recommend uninstalling the app and reinstalling. Change device profile in the wifi settings to galaxy nexus (cdma/Lte) should work without changing to ad hoc

I got it to work finally. Kinda works, only Cuz I never have a signal where I live, so.thats lame. But thanks for your help!!

Okay I just tried it today & it keeps saying it started with errors & to check the log. So I did &,it keeps failing on the "loading wifi driver" part. What does that mean??
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I keep trying to get it to work &,all it is saying is that it started with errors. & the error log said something about the wifi driver failing to load... It worked last night. Don't know why it stopped. Please help.

I use this app it's "wifi tether for root users" I've used it on GB,ics and jb as long as you're rooted all you gotta do is click the button to start the hotspot.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Same here... Wifi tether for root users is what I use for all platforms... GB, ICS, and KB. Reinstall the version I told you to get and do exactly what I said and it should work fine. Don't change anything except phone profile to galaxy nexus CDMA/LTE. When you change the profile in the apps settings it should say toro briefly and disappear. Make sure you have the version I mentioned above... Or pm me and I will email you the apk file. And yes you must have some signal to get any of the tether apps to work

Did everything and i get these errors. What could be going wrong?

hit the thanks it doesn't hurt.
Also alot of roms (assuming you are rooted) come with native sprint hotspot hacked and ready for use.

I do have the version you mentioned, in your above reply, installed. &,did the settings like you said &,all I keep getting is the error of wifi driver loading, failed.

Everyone I time I move to on new roms it typical updates shortly after through okay store. are you absolutely sure you are rooted? You can get root checker from the play store
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Could always try Fox Fi (If it hasn't been mentioned) should work without Root as well. (I typically don't tether much if at all so cant' really chime in on it too much) i do have a friend who uses it constantly at work with no issues.
Ok either try clear clearing cache and dalvik cache in recovery... Reboot and install the wifi apk and do it again. Our maybe get FoxFi or a Custom ROM with sprint hotspot hacked... If you p.m. i'll give you the best chances for free wifi

Galaxy S3 rooted, need Wi-Fi tethering advice
I'm a new & proud owner of this phone, and thanks to advice found on this website, owner of a rooted S3 in less than 30 minutes. But I've been trying all the suggestions for setting up a Wi-Fi tether to little avail.
I just downloaded & installed the mod version that was the last suggestion made. It installed fine, and actually shows up as a SSID but I cannot get my laptop or my old EVO 4G phone to actually connect to it. I left the settings on default, other than changing the password of course.
Any suggestions or hints?
Lee
Link that I have posted, still working and my S3 is working with tether app. I have been using my laptop and other devicec without any issue.

Chemistry Rom HELP!

Love this rom. I'm on V6, and so far every thing is smooth and functional except native hotspot. Tried reflashing, both dirty and clean but nothing. My PC can see and connect but no internet. I've searched this site but the few I've found with this same problem weren't answered. WiFi Tether works but phone gets hot. Suggestions very welcome. Thanks XDA community.

I dont think any developers have been able to get native hotspot working. And for the record, your phone would heat up regardless because tether is a very memory intensive process

I used to have an evo lte and WiFi Tether made it hot where as the native hotspot did not.

I have an evo shift and both native tether and wifi tether make it hot.

Others with this same rom say the native hotspot is working. I am just trying to find out if it is a settings issue or a mod flash or something else.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Its going to get hot, as its an intensive process. You can try reducing the power on the transmit, but other than that change you rom governor and scheduler is the only thing you can do.
Thx, but I'm trying to get the native hotspot working.

Use a WiFi tether app. WiFi tether for root from the Playstore, or the Trevor? version of it on xda. If you can't find them let me know and I'll get you the links a little later.
EDIT: Found some links. One has the TrevE WIFI tether that some people use.

This. WiFi tether seems to work well for most people. Be aware that after turning it on you will probably need to restart the phone for wifi to work again afterward.

On the galaxy devices i have used these apps and the moded hotspot and never had to reboot to get on wifi. Is this a common issue on the LGOG?

It's common for our JB. Any stock ROM requires a reboot per WiFi or tether.

The new version of the Wifi Teather App works without having to reboot. Just enable Wifi Driver Reload 2 option under settings.

What settings are you using? Every time I have Wifi Driver Reload 2 selected, it won't tether properly. It looks fine on the phone, but the computer won't pick up the signal.
I've used PDAnet and haven't had any problems switching between hotspot and back. Hotspot works great and switching back is easy (no reboot). I use it all the time for my tablet when no WiFi is available. Just thought I'd mention it.
