(Q) Android Updare 4.2 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey guys im not trying to be annoying or anxiously ask a stupid question but I was reading up the features on the gs4 and was thinking.. Do our phones digitizers have the capability of air view with our fingers? Thank you.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app

No.

Possibly....
Reports first came out that our hardware was the limiting factor in using this feature...
But there is another thread floating around stating it's more firmware than hardware...
I haven't seen the thread for about a week...but the information was solid on the possibility...
Please don't quote me on that....as I'm just repeating what I saw in passing...
Here's to hoping the info is accurate...and we see it soon...g

Everything you need is in the development forum.
Benchmarks don't mean shhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii......

Check out the stickies in the development forum for rooting/flashing etc.
For oc/UV check out the original dev forum.
As for benchmarks... Yeah.
The random number generator known as quadrant will spit out anything from 5,000's to 9,000's for me.
The random number generator known as antutu spits out anything from 4,000's to 8,000's.
Have fun!

Yeah, I'm new to these boards too. I've been looking around and it seems some of these developers require a reach-a-round in order to post in their thread based on responses I've seen by them. Great start from a noob poster, I know.

Same question over and over and over is really redundant and 99% of the time nobody uses the search function. I don't blame them
Yeah around are nice ...But never required. I have to say that I have not seen that in the threads I have frequented...although I have started clear of the "original development" threads. The"unoriginal" devs seem pretty friendly and are quick to answer questions in a respectful manner.

I would understand that, but isn't this almost like an athlete or movie star and a fan asking for autographs? I mean, its your rom YOU decided to make public and of course there is going be stupid posters around, but if it was me, I'd just be happy someone was downloading my sh!t.

I've seen multiple references to it as well as downloads, can someone explain what exactly it's designed to do or if it's worth having? Thanks

Even though we all know we can do a google search, we still get those people that like to waste time just to be funny....what a shame. Some people are able to provide better info just from having a first hand experience than what a google search might pull up.
Sorry dude that I am of no help, but I just wanted to say it sucks to not get an answer in a QUESTION & ANSWER forum.

It appears we ported some less than helpful folks from other areas.
The engine appears to make images crisper and add some clarity. Welcome to the forums and continue to ask good questions!

Thank you very much for the useful info. Us noobs need our hands held sometimes and we need people like you. I hit your thanks button
thanks! yeah i was really looking for why it was used in the jedi rom and i saw people had asked in that thread and didnt see any answers, so i figured a new thread might get me somewhere. Unfortunately we'll always have dbags on the internet!
That was not intended to be funny or rude. Had the question been "is there a noticeable impact on performance one way or the other, and does gpu rendering do anything to help", that would have been a great question. A simple "what is", especially when one manages to find XDA, without having done some simple research that would have easily answered the question is something that will catch you flack on almost any forum.
I apologize if you found it rude, as it was assuredly less intended than some of the other responses.
Check out how many threads have topics as "wtf" or "help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". It helps everyone in the end if people ask better questions.

Don't crap on new people's questions.

Hello,
I'm not famous on long words.
And I like to keep it short this time.
Please don't crap in questions that new or even long stayers ask.
It stumps there freedom of asking questions here on XDA.
There are xda rules, but it should not be your reason to piss or crap on the question.
There are good ways to tell mods what is going on.
I think question are always repeated and the askers know it sometimes, and will love XDA more if they get a answer that doesn't sound like a grandmother telling the rulles.
I can be wrong....... But xda is build also by new people.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
People won't be "crapped on" if they do some elementary research, ask nicely, and read the rules.
I had to ask a very basic question on here, myself - but I explained what I had done to try to find the answer myself and such.
If the question is just something I could Google without knowing anything about the topic, I think it's reasonable to expect people to do that much themselves. This is a development-focused forum after all.
And since this is a development-focused forum, people who ask for copyrighted material for free are "crapping on" the people here who need to feed the or families from their work. :/

You must be trolling or a hypocrite. You can't just be all "be nice and respectful to all even if they're stupid" and then turn around and be an asshole just because it suits you.
Practice what you preach and say it on the forums, not through weird PMs.

Questions ?
I really am new at this and only got interested when I purchased my Gnex on release date from Verizion. I've always been semi tech savy and wanted to learn as much as possible about Android phones. I consider mysef a search engine and will hunt until I find the answer on the internet. I have read MANY fourms on this subject looking for the answers I need and 99.9% of the time have found the answer. The problem I see with many fourms is after the first 3 maybe 4 responses to someones question it starts to go WAY off what the question was about. There have been a few times Before my search starts I've thought maybe I should post the question but I do realize that many here and on other Android sites are way way smarter than I am and probably don't want to see another noob question. Noobs are here and I guess always will be and I'm proud to have learned as much as I have from sites like yours.
This isn't the easiest stuff to pick up. You all just keep posting and I'll keep learning. Thanks Guys
BTW Thanks to Wugfresh my Gnex was a breeze. My first Android phone the orginal Dinc took me into a world I never thought I could enter. HTC unlocked, rooted and ICS. Who'd have thought ICS on a Dinc? I love it!

The N7100 doesn't have LTE hardware in it. The T889 T-Mobile variant clearly does. You cannot add capabilities to a device that it doesn't have the hardware for.
Was more of an annoyed post not physically why.

Cleaned.
Right, cleaned this thread of all the bad language and arguments.
I'd like to take this opportunity to remind members that XDA is a place for sharing, learning and last, but not least helping people develop, theme and improve their devices, not for silly little arguments in public forums - we're part of the same team, remember that.
In regards to people trying to help enforce the rules of xda, as much as we appreciate this, it's better if you let us deal with it, and help us by reporting any posts which violate the rules.
Some of the language in these posts have no place in XDA, what you might not find offensive, some people do. So lets do our best to not include any profane or foul language, thank you.
Anymore problems, use the right channels (the report feature).
Kind regards,
Lady Android
@Lady Android
Don't see why you didn't just close this thread. Your caring and relaxed attitude seems out of sync with other mods who feel that XDA is not for noobs, and especially not for noobs to bloat with their garbage, posted without reading the rules and usually through boredom or laziness.
If you want people to use the report feature; might I suggest the xda app is updated to include a report button.
Thank you for your time.

You would be better off starting a new thread for your question. It's not likely to get much attention in a totally unrelated thread.
Check GTN7100 IN THE INTERNET IF HAS LTE in it.

Who said XDA was not for noobs? XDA is a sharing information comunity for everybody and to prove it there is a guide just for Noobs.
XDA official Noob guide ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699450
The line I've see written by many mods is:
It's xda-developers.com not xda-noobs
And if that's guide is worth it's salt then it will strongly discourage threads like this one:
Information that already exists
Question in wrong thread
Lack of searching, reading and understanding, just more bloat for people to sift through to find the juicy cream.
Anyway this has been thoroughly off-topic we should probably let this thread die now.

Different Rom sections

What is the big difference between the roms contained in these 2 sections? Sorry for being a noob i just dont understand why there are 2 sections. Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android Development and the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Original Android Development
The roms in the original development section are built from source.
More aosp (less touchwiz).

I agree. You can usually find your answer a lot quicker on Google than posting a duplicate thread and hoping someone replies. You also avoid people like abcdefg pointing out the obvious.

People get so butt hurt when you call them out for not even trying to search... Apparently, those of us who would like to have fewer garbage topics asking the same thing are the moderators pets or something.. Eflip88 might remember that from a few days ago
No, the reason people get annoyed about a thousand different threads on the same topic couldn't be because it just makes it that much harder for people who actually WANT to do the legwork and use the search bar.. That couldn't be it...
