I want to have MMB CWM 5.0.2.8 as my recovery.
I have CWM 5.0.2.7 (ext4+rfs) installed by phiexz... So my question is: Can I flash it from his CWM or not and so not how do I install it?
There is no How to install on the page of MMB...
And I saw that CWM from MMB is ext4only? Is this a problem?
yes you can flash it over the old recovery. ext4 isnt a problem because all custom roms are formatted to ext4

Can I still run Stock ROM with it?
And how do I instal?
stock rom is rfs formatted. so you need a recovery that support rfs/ext4: cwm 5.0.2.6
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2r3p45w8l8zw29p
place it in sdcard
boot into recovery
install zip from sd card>choose zip> and flash it
then reboot system after flash is complete, then you can go into recovery

Hi
I have cwm recovery from chenglu but have installed cm10 and recovery is still chenglu.. How can I move to cm10 recovery?? It worked on my old note.
The phone is with stock rom + root. Installed Rom Manager, then CWM.
CWM version is 5.5.0.0 and it is showing:
Current recovery: ClockworkMod 6.0.1.9
But when I select Reboot into recovery = Stock Android recovery appears.
If I shut it down and enter manually = again stock recovery.
Why?

I wanted to use ROM Manager and CWM, too, but was told only TWRP is the only recovery that works and not to even try installing CWM. It doesn't work with Samsung devices.

I read the problem is that stock Samsung roms always restore stock recovery and in order to make CWM work you have to delete the stock recovery file.
Q. I flashed CWM but each time I reboot the Stock Recovery is back
There is an auto recovery restore system on Android that will reflash the Stock Recovery if you flash CWM on a Stock Rom.
Use Root Explorer to Mount the system folder as R/W (or use a free app from the Market). Delete the file recovery-from-boot.p from /system. Now when you flash CWM Recovery it will NOT be overwritten after a reboot. You can also use the Toolkit to rename the files if you wish.

Hi,
I installed the TWRP recovery version 2.6.3.0 onto my phone just now after trying CWM with no success. The CWM recovery could not read my SD card while the TWRP has another error. When I try to install the ROM, I get an error message : Error executing updater binary in zip..........
Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
What rom ? What version of CWM ?

I tried CWM 6.0.4.8 both with touch and without. Both failed to mount the SD card so switched to twrp 2.6.3.0 and I got updater binary errors with twrp
Flash Philz 5.15.9 and copy the rom. Then switch to twrp from audahadi, it's in the original dev section.
Didn't work either

Ah i mean flash philz 5.15, mount the sdcard and wait a few minutes. Then copy a rom to it. And flash the appropriate recovery.
Maybe a broken rom.zip file, which rom ?

Ah so stupid of me. Cyanogenmod Stable ROM, however I tried the Viper one as well. Was able to flash it, but probably was unable to boot due to outdated bootloader
I'm having some trouble with installing a new recovery. I want to have TWRP because I want to install a ROM that requires it. At the moment I have some old CWM but when I flash TWRP and reboot into recovery I still get into CWM.
So how do I replace CWM or at least boot into TWRP?

Try 4ext recovery, in my opinion i think its better. Also u cant flash recovery "flash zip from sdcard" u have to either use fastboot command
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Or via PB99IMG method or using the 4ext app but u can only use the app once ur phone is booted.
I just flashed agat recovery 0.2.2 and i tried to install cm 11 on my phone but i got a error 7 and i dont know what i am doing wrong.
You will need to install cm10 BEFORE installing cm11 because you need cwm recovery to flash cm11 and cwm recovery is in cm10.
This one should work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2238252
Don't bother flashing gapps or other zips, just flash the rom then boot into cwm recovery do a full wipe and flash cm11.
