I was using a lot of this mod on my latest device cause it sucks a lot..so i give it a try cause i saw that even with a powerfull device like N4 some apps (facebook) seems to have problem with a scrolling lag...so i was using this guide bellow to patch framework.jar file to remove the Scrolling cache..this makes scrolling to some apps smoother without hurting anything else....
Feel free to try...just replace framework.jar in system/framework
Do it with any explorer with root access this isn't a flashable zip!!
Download
Code:
SMOOTHCROLL MOD
Here is the step-by-step (on windows):
1. Extract the baksmali/smali tool to a new folder and put the framework.jar in same folder.
2. Run baksmali manager.bat.
3. Select framework.jar by pressing 4 -> 2 in main menu.
4. Press 1 to Baksmali the framework.jar.
5. Make it sure that new 'framework' folder is created and files inside it. (Don't close the baksmali manager window yet!)
6. Open the framework/android/widget/AbsListView.smali with notepad++.
7. Search for ".method private createScrollingCache"
(change red value to green value)
.prologue
const/4 v1, 0x1 0x0
8. Search for ".method private initAbsListView"
(change red value to green value)
.line 808
invoke-virtual {p0, v1v2}, Landroid/widget/AbsListView;->setScrollingCacheEnabled(Z)V
9. Search for ".method public setScrollingCacheEnabled (Z)"
(change red value to green value)
.registers 3
.parameter "enabled"disabled
10. Save the file and close notepad++
11. Come back to baksmali manager window.
12. Press 2 to smali
13. After smali, it will appear a "classes.dex" file on your baksmali/smali folder.
14. Open framework.jar with Winzip, Winrar, 7zip or your prefered compress tool
15. Drag and Drop the new classes.dex into framework.jar and replace the old one.
16. Put modified framework.jar to your phone's sdcard.
17. Copy that file to /system/framework and replace original one.
18. Give proper permissions (rw-r--r--) or (644) or (tick Read: owner, group, others / Write: owner)
19. Restart your phone and enjoy!!!

I thought the lag was in a kernel, by tweaking the onlining the core's behaviour.
Franco releases 142 nightly and now I didnt experience lag on any apps...

Different kind of think...
Enables or disables the children's drawing cache during a scroll. By default, the drawing cache is enabled but this will use more memory. When the scrolling cache is enabled, the caches are kept after the first scrolling. You can manually clear the cache by calling
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/AbsListView.html
Lag could be related to how quickly a kernel changes core frequencies, bouncy behavior may result in poor user experience. I don't believe it's as much related to core onlining, because that is apparently fine in faux and the kernels using auto_plug.

This mod has nothing to do with kernel..its basically rom mod..that simply don't cache while scrolling....

Version 7 of Cow ROM: Bionic Cow 2.
- For arco68
It's basically an update to Bionic Cow using latest firmware from Sammy - I8150DXLC1. Features:
1) The OC kernel has been rewrote. It should be more stable and graphic score improved.
2) Bionic Scorpion Optimization library. Using NEON instructions for faster memory operations. Learned from arco68 github for ICS.
3) CowPanel 2 - use this util to configure VSYnc on/off. For speed, use VSync off. For smooth, use VSync on + triple buffering. Read more here. You also may configure zRam option here. zRam is off by default. Read more here.
4) Many CPU governors: Default using OnDemandX for best battery; 80% left in 24 hours. Use "Performance" for benchmarking.
5) More RAM - 358Mb available, compare to 351Mb in stock ROM.
6) Using a super light Zeam Launcher. Thanks cloakt for permission to use.
7) Internal / external sd card swap, CRT screen off effect, Low Memory Killer Tweaked, OnDemandX tweaked, Custom Bootup animation and Larger SD Card cache, Voice Search, etc.
8) Based on arco68 GB kernel. Without which, none of this is possible.
Special thanks to arco68, tch9, andynroid and pinkyunki, Murny Umairah, Myrule Anarki, Santos San Martin and Mohd Fazrin Daud from SGW group.
*WARNING*: Don't use OC ROM unless you know what you are doing. The ROM will automatically reset to 1.4ghz - OnDemandX after reboot as a safety precaution. I only set to 1.8ghz OC for short time during Cheat Engine hacks, zip / unzip, benchmark, etc. I always reset back to max 1.4ghz for normal used. I strongly recommend you to set a temperature profile if CPU ever get above 50C you should lower max clock back to 1.4ghz.

Here is how to install the ROM:
1. Enable recovery.
2. Use 7zip, right click on xxxx.001, extract. It will create the zip file required for flashing. Copy this zip into your phone. (Don't extract xxx.002)
3. Boot into ClockWorkMod / RZRecovery, backup your current ROM using nandroid (just in case).
4. If you are upgrading from my previous ROM;
- BEFORE installing the ROM, Uninstall CowPanel: Setting, Application, Cowpanel, uninstall
- Wipe Dalvik-cache. All your settings and app will remained. Theme will changed though.
5. If you are installing from stock or from other custom ROM, best to wipe everything using CWM, including your USB and external sd card. Reinstall everything from fresh, don't restore anything from Titanium Backup or anything.
Google Map? Missing apk? Original theme? If you want to restore to stock theme, get all the apk here.
Report Problem: If you encounter FC or any problem, please provide logcat so I may trace it:
1. Connect phone to USB
2. adb logcat > log.txt
3. In your phone, reproduce the crash / FC / etc
4. Kill all adb process in your PC
5. Zip and send me the log.txt
Update Radio Firmware
I8150DXLC1 comes with an updated Radio firmware. This should improve voice call quality. Check if you need to update this, go to Check "Setting", "About phone", "Baseband version". If you already have I8150DXLC1 or newer you dont need this. If not, use Odin to flash this. This will only update the Radio firmware, nothing else will change. You can do this before or after install Bionic Cow 2 ROM.
1. Get Odin.
2. Get ancora.ops.
3. Get radio firmware.
4. Boot into "download mode". Connect phone to PC. Start Odin
5. Select OPS file = ancora.ops. Select One Package = radio firmware, check "One package", "Auto reboot", "Protect OPS".
6. Start and wait till it complete.

I really love the theme, very nice!!
Thanks my friend!!
As now, i'm using your Bionic, Cow. Love the green-ish theme, seems smoothly smart!
A few things btw :
1. When booting up, there is still sound of the boot animation. How to disable it?
2. When locking the phone, the transition is somewhat like distortion-type, not like the scale-old-tv in your previous ROM. Is it supposed to be that way or my phone goes wrong?
3. The "3G icon" in status bar alternately goes from small to big and vice versa. Also is this meant to be as such? :/
Apart of those, it is indeed a GREAT and SUPERB ROM.

min speed ? ondemand or ondemandx ?
I must be dumb.
I download xxx.7z.001 and xxx.7z.002.
Right click on 001: extract here puts META-INF, data and system folders and the other files in the folders I am working in. If I right click and extract to GT-I8150-BIONIC it just puts those files in a folder. No sign of a flashable zip.
What am I doing wrong?
Bomoh, an user who doesn't have permission to post in Dev section yet, told me this solution and it's working. Thanks to him!

Hello everyone
I ported Ace Of Spades v3 by Trent from Ace to our Gio.
The rom is made for speed, super stability, customization, general use and battery performance.
This rom is just a port, so everything is not so good as it supposed to be, however I think it’s a very nice rom, and you should test it!
This user is banned from XDA because there are warez in the AOS rom’s. So I had to change some things, so rom is warez free.
Changes I made:
Replaced ADW ex for ADW
Replaced Root browser for Root browser lite (outdated)
Replaced Root browser lite for stock CM7 File Manager (More pure Cyanogen)
Deleted a Torch-App, because Gio doesn’t have a flasher D:
Working and not:
Everything works, but if you find bug, pm me.
Link to original thread:
I’m not gonna give your the link, cauze thread is partially removed.
Howto:
Read on Trent’s post, but you can use ANY recovery, not only CWM.
Thanks:

Trent’s Post:
Description
Ace Of Spades is one of the highly preferred android systems.
Read the how-to or else you'll think the rom is playing up on first boot!
This System is designed for
1. Speed
2. Super Stability
3. Customization
4. General Use
5. Battery Performance
I've spent weeks, months purely modifying the system for performance whilst having the best battery life. I can guarantee the speed and the battery at the same time will impress.
This release has a blue over glow effect, Ice Cream Sandwich icons/animations and the Ice Cream Sandwich Status Bar. The backgrounds when [/SIZE]in apps (Like gallery, contacts, settings etc.) are transparent.
I've added A2SD and I've included the A2SDGUI App in the ROM.
This rom is so highly customizable and stable, I've never used anyone else's rom for general use, I started developing roms so i could have a stable rom whilst being fast and efficient for social networking, gaming etc.
The System has an ultimate edit of the blackhawk kernel implemented into the rom. I have my own edits of the libs and files which all work together to make one stable, high quality system. I've based the System on 2.3.7, I've compiled the system directly from cyanogenmod github (It's pure cyanogenmod, No edit of anyone else's rom)
How-to
You need ClockWorkMod installed
Reboot into ClockWorkMod Recovery, wipe data, wipe cache
Flash the .zip from the Downloads section (below) from clockwork recovery.
Reboot your phone (first boot will take some time, reboot twice for optimal performance)
Listen carefully! LET the rom do its thing when you install it, it'll reboot a couple of times (This is my script finalizing) It'll work like normal after the first boot.

I replaced rootbrowser lite for the stock CM7 File Manager.
Im stuck at camera, photo will work, but in record screen will turn white and capture nothing...
I saw a MOD earlier for the CM10 and i thought why not make one ONLY for the MIUI JB.
follow these steps:
1- make a nandroid backup (optional as i tried it and it boots)
2- download attachment, extract it and place build.prob on sdcard
3- open your *root* file explorer and place it into /system , then set permissions to rw-r-r
4- reboot to recovery and wipe cache, dalvik cache and fix permissions (i dont know why but i saw it is needed so just do what i said)
5- reboot and enjoy

NOTE: I didn't disable Boot animation because i personally like it and i know some people would be sad if i did.
i don't own any of these tweaks i just copied them and decided to share it with you!
TIPS:
1- Go to Rom toolbox(free from Playstore) open memory manager and choose Ultimate from the presets. It will improve multi tasking and a little bit gaming.
2- Try Forfivo's JB Kernel V1.1 i use it and it runs great.
3- I don't know what you guys prefer about governors but i personally love Smartass v2.
4- Use the SD Boost (also in Rom toolbox) boost your sd to 3072 or 2036. (i can't see difference but they say it does change something)
5- I don't actually feel difference after using my build.prob Tweak LOL, but point "1" really shows difference and smoothness.
6- I guess these are enough actually it was enough from "1"

There are to ZIP files in the attachments, don't flash any of them just follow the steps above. And use the version of your ROM the file with the name V16 is the original version and the one named V30 is the test of coliv_aja so make sure you know which one you are using.
And please put in mind that if you already have build.prob tweaks backup them before you replace them with this, because this is the build.prob fresh from the ROM tweaked, so you will lose your tweaks(if you had any).

I like go launcher more too, the performance is the same I guess hop launcher saves data on sdcard so it doesn't get killed easily and loads faster if it is killed

Yes, another guy also reported this. Try going pristine mode. The other guy says it also happens when he installs the original Rom. Try the pristine way then give me feedback
--EDIT--
The other guy tried pristine and he still go the same problem. I will build a new versions right now.

Finished making version 2.1 this post is sent from it added the full wonder tweaks from general section(can't give you a link right now because it is harder from phone) added a wifi tether app(found it in kitchen) i didn't test it as i have no data plan and it is not added as a system app so it can be easily removed . For anyone who thinks that the animations are too much there is a toggle in "settings==>display" to change how many animations you want to show. I will change the normal flashing mode to add more details sometimes first boot takes longer than normal ones so wait before reporting(max is a min)
Long post eh? Didn't have time to change it into point form
I have some network problems right now(my internet is super sloow right now) i will post when it becomes better
--EDIT--
All files are uploaded

I have added performance tweaks and they might be the problem, try lower CPU speed and/or a battery saviour App.
Maybe next release would have a recommended battery app, I need suggestions cuz I don't use them

It definitely is my daily-driver now...but i replaced some files to make it more perfect...

if not applying V6 is v6 supercharger scripts automatically run at boot?? because some people say that all script in init.d will run automatically at boot..
While surfing the internet i found this amazing codes that helps low memory devices (512mb ram) like our galaxy wonder to handle the memory smoothly to a certain limit. This does'nt means their will be a overall performance boost, but the available memory will be handled smoothly.
I just experimented it in my galaxy w running [ROM][JB 4.2.2][CM10.1] BEAN KAT 4.4 Mod with [KERNEL][CWM 6.0.4.5][CM10.1][3.4] Skull Kernel - v1.9 .
Now the lags have been significantly reduced, literally no lags at all.
This is not only for cm 10.1,you can also try with other cm versions and stock kernels also and share your experience.
Note : use applications like advanced task manager to view the ram memory.
I also suggest to use custom kernels with High Memory Support, because it gives more ram for our device.
Add these lines to build.prop and save it.
Code:
PRODUCT_PROPERTY_OVERRIDES += ro.config.low_ram=true
Code:
PRODUCT_PROPERTY_OVERRIDES += dalvik.vm.jit.codecachesize=0
Extract the zip "framework.config" attached below and place the extracted .xml file in the folder named framework.
path: /system/framework.
In addition,i have also changed this in build.prop
#Reduce total number of background apps (from 10 to 5)
Code:
sys.mem.max_hidden_apps=5
if it is not there, you can add it.
Flashable.zip for Bean Kat user
Thanks for this, btw I've made flashable zip base on @theloneseeker lines, but only for Bean Kat user ( Only for Bean Kat v1, v2, v3, do not use it in Bean Kat Final Eol )
The zip include :
1. Build prop tweak
- Swap SD card
- sys.mem.max_hidden_apps=5
- PRODUCT_PROPERTY_OVERRIDES += ro.config.low_ram=true
- PRODUCT_PROPERTY_OVERRIDES += dalvik.vm.jit.codecachesize=0
2. framework_config.xml
download attached file, and flash from CWM -Wipe cache - install it - reboot , done

Nice! I think it might be compatible with other 4.2 ROMS too Who wants to give it a try and report back?
EDIT: This is crazy i think but will it work?
How about pulling-out the file Build.prop and modify it on PC.
add:
- PRODUCT_PROPERTY_OVERRIDES += ro.config.low_ram=true
- PRODUCT_PROPERTY_OVERRIDES += dalvik.vm.jit.codecachesize=0
remove:
- Swap SD card (don't need)
- sys.mem.max_hidden_apps=5 (already set)
extract your .zip> replace Build.prop with the one i modified>zip it back>flash

ok, the message says that your storage to save that app file has changed, means that your sd card been swaped , bcose my zip will swap your storage , sd card 0 become 1 , so know will be saved in your external sd..
I think bcose it has new place to save it you must continue to re-configure your account but am not sure, never use that app before
