you need to restore it back to default kindle os, installing twrp wipes the the kindle os which prevents the kindle from booting up you needed to copy the cm10.1 and gapps files before installing twrp so restore it back to the original kindle os and before installing twrp be sure to copy cm10.1 and gapps on to the kindle first because the kindle needs to have an os to connect to the pc

Hey.
Firstly i've had a read around, and can't seem to find any answers.
Tonight i tried to flash kindle back to stock using a video on youtube. Basically said to download the 6.2.2 stock rom, change name on the fire to update.zip then flash that in twrp after doing a system wipe.
I did that - i was coming from a ics rom with fff and twrp on. My kindle boots in to 6.2.2 but then i get application calender storage force close and process android.process.acore force close, and the kindle unsurprisingly just keeps restarting.
Im stuck. Any help or ideas?
When the kindle is on and attached to my pc, it says in device manager android ADB interface but when using KFU it doesnt see the fire (im assuming because its not staying on for long enough?)
Any help would be appreciated - im annoyed at myself! clearly didn't read enough before attempting this.
Thanks.

Can you get into Recovery??
Nope. No recovery on it anymore. Boots straight in to kindle fire stock.
Most likely this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28004774&postcount=10
Thanks dasanko and tera tike. Looks like i will have to try the factory cable see if that works.
Thanks for your help though. I will post back my results here.
Genius!
Well thanks to Tera Tike, all is well again.
Used Basic fire utility and followed tera's instructions, managed to get the fire back in to normal mode, then flashed fff then twrp, now finally back on good old hellfire kindle sandwich!
Man im happy now!
Must make sure to read more thoroughly how to flash back to stock before being a fool again!
Hello bricked my Kindle about 5 months ago, and I tried everything I could to unbrick it. I recently started to attempt to unbrick it again and ran into the same problems.
OS - Windows 7 x64
KF - Kindle Fire (I got this around December 2011) (Firmware unknown)
Problem - Kindle Fire is stuck on the screen which says "kindle fire." Nothing else happens.
How did you cause this problem? - I was trying to install Cyanogen Mod, and my friend said he knew how to do it. Obviously he didn't.
Was the recovery installed prior to installing the mod? - No.
Have you installed SDK? - Yes.
Does ADB detect device? - No, I've been searching this forum time and time again for new instructions or new ways to do it. Reading other threads, it seems to be a driver problem. Yes, I've uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. I'm installed the driver the old way (Going to extras/google/usb_driver) then I tried the KFU's exe then I tried Amazon's way. Currently, the device (in Device Manager) is named Android ADB Interface. However, if I disconnect the device and reconnect it, it will give me "Unknown Device" and "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
EDIT:I just noticed this is probably in the wrong section. Sorry! If it is, could a MOD move it please?
Additional Information - The Kindle Fire was rooted by me, and I did get ADB working before. Unfortunately, right now I cannot get it working. I believe if I can start ADB, that the KFU should do the trick. Also, if anyone has additional time and is feeling generous, I am more than happy to do Teamviewer to try and solve this problem.
I will continue trying to tackle this on my own. Thank you for your time.

What CM build were you trying to attempt? what version of KFU did you try? I assume you have TWRP or CWM installed? and finally, is the Kindle Fire logo the regular one or is it blue?
Hopefully the answers that you give me will help, and I hope that I can help you too.
I think I got the same problem, and I'm a big noob.
Kindle Fire is stuck at the blue "Kindle Fire" screen, when I go on either recovery or normal boot it just hangs on "booting".
I did not install TWRP so I'm screwed. Tried adb reboot and some fastboot commands in order to change booting stuff so I can fix it up.
I was trying to install ICS through this guide: techhive.com/article/258452/how_to_install_ice_cream_sandwich_on_your_kindle_fire.html?page=2 (I'm not spamming :[ )
I did thesse steps:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery C:\kfu\software\openrecovery-twrp-blaze-2.1.1.img
3. Change the boot mode to Recovery:
fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 5001
4. Reboot into TWRP:
fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot

Right after I tried to reboot into TWRP it just got stuck into "Booting".
I have no idea what to do now :/
EDIT:
SO for some strange reason, it booted back to the default KF OS.
I unplugged my KF and turned it off, booted my Ubuntu partition, plugged the kindle back in and turned it on... it booted normally.
I'm gonna try and redo all the process, maybe SouKit can help you with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038
Not quite sure if it'll help in your case, but I've seen threads with people solving similar problems with it.
This thread did it for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750250
I used SoupKit to get the kindle into fastboot, then I installed TWRP through SoupKit.
After that I put in my ICS rom in Kindle's sdcard.
Booted up TWRP and installed ICS...
That's what I did, maybe it can help you out in case the other solutions don't work.

I apologize for the late reply.
What CM build were you trying to attempt?
CM 7
what version of KFU did you try?
KFU 0.9.6
I assume you have TWRP or CWM installed?
As for TWRP/CWM I sadly don't think that was installed.
is the Kindle Fire logo the regular one or is it blue?
Regular Logo
Thank you everyone else, I will follow your links and see if it helps.
Cesgore,
Try going into the KFU and installing TWRP with the kindle attached to the computer and see if it installs. It's okay if KFU doesn't see the device, just try it anyway. This worked for me and I was able to get into recovery. If not try installing FireFireFire the same way with KFU.
Also, is your Kindle showing up in device manager at all?

Whoa. Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. By some miracle I just connected it and a the drivers decided to recognize it (Usually saids Unknown Device, and when trying to update it, it says it's on the latest version). Did KFU, said it didn't see the device. But TWRP installed and it just booted for the first time in MONTHS! I love you.
Thank you everyone else who help!
I'm rooting a kindle, and some weird things happened while I was rooting it, problems with rooting on Windows 8, But now that I have TWRP and FIREFIREFIRE installed, it won't let me boot to system. It flashes on and off of the shiny kindle Fire screen, then boots to TWRP. KFU says it is in Boot STatus 0x5003. Any help?

Hello, sorry to bump an old thread, but when I tried to boot into normal boot mode, it tells me "The system cannot find the file specified." I have been stuck in this TWRP recovery mode for so long. Even when I get into Normal Boot mode, how do I get JellyBean installed so it loads that ROM? I have the Jellybean ROM files on the Kindle, which I can access via TWRP, but don't know how to install. HELP!!!
Well, right now I did a factory reset of the Kindle and I was able to get the KF back to it's defaults. I copied the Jellybean .zip file and gapps Jellybean .zip file to the root of the KF. I booted into Recovery Mode and I was finally able to see both .zip files when I clicked on Install. I thought I could do the Permanent Root now that I did the factory reset, but once I ran it under KFU, it would go through the process to install TWRP and then boot the KF into TWRP, but it doesn't look like it completed the root. How do I complete it?
In the meantime, I had went into Recovery Mode, went to Install and currently loading Jellybean onto the KF. I'm currently stuck at Verifiying partition sizes and it's been sitting there for a few minutes. How long does it take before it's updated to JB?
System Only boots to TWRP and KFU will not see kindle
I have a Kindle Fire 1... Not the HD when I got it in Dec of 2011 I got some help to get TWRP and CM7 Installed on it, and it worked great until a couple of days ago and now there is no help in the kindle fire room anymore so I was wondering if there is someone out there who would be willing to help me to get this to work again either through teamviewer or a Chat of some type, Gtalk, IRC anything at this point to get this to work again.
I have tried everything from a Hard reset, and KFU will not see it and I even tried a unbricking tool and that cannot find it either. Please help me out.
Thanks

Stuck booting into TWRP
Hello Forum Lords, I hope that I found the proper thread for my problem.
I was simply trying to install Cyanogemod 9 on my wifes replacement KF1 after the first KF1 suffered some sore of hardware malfunction and would no longer take a charge. Somehow, somewhere I went horribly wrong this time around. I got stuck at the KF1 logo and eventually I got it to boot, but only to recovery.
My predicament is this: My KF1 is stuck booting into TWRP. Device manager on Win Vista recognizes the KF1 as Android Composite ADB Interface. When I try to use the KFU to boot the device into Normal Mode it says "cannot find the drive specified".
At the KFU starting menu, it says ADB Status: Online, Boot Status: 0x5003.
My ultimate goal is to get this thing running Cyanogenmod again. I am painfully noob at all of this. Please speak as you would to an escaped chimp who will not let go of the keyboard and mouse.
Thank you, anybody
Hey Everyone,
I have been using these forums for the last year and a half and It has helped me a whole bunch to successfully root all of the android devices my family has. I have however ran into a problem with a 1st gen Kindle Fire. It is stuck at the orange and white kindle fire logo. So a little background, I have rooted this Kindle in the past and succeeded in flashing Cyanogenmod's jb. I changed it back to the old Kindle interface so that my sisters can use it for reading but they wanted to use it for games. I decided that I should just change it back to jb since I would have to go through the trouble of flashing google play. Now, here's when things go wrong.
I started by using KFU 0.9.6 since I was lazy and didn't want to go through my old method. I granted SU and also installed TWRP and FireFireFire. now, I found a rom by Cyanogenmod cm10.1.3otter and decided to flash it onto my device. Everything went fine but it wouldn't boot past the Cyanogenmod boot screen. So I put another rom on (cm10.1.2) and flashed that. It worked and i started using it under the assumption there was nothing wrong. I later discovered when entering the internet password that my keyboard was not working and nothing would allow it to work. I then decided that I would get the kindle rom back on and factory reset and wipe the device. When I flashed the Kindle rom and restarted it, It got stuck and would not boot past the Orange and white kindle fire logo. After 2 full charges and 48 hours, it is still stuck. I tried to check if the kindle showed up under ADB devices and it does but when I run adb shell(for one of the guides) it comes up with "no such file or directory." When I run KFU, adb is online but boot status is unknown. When I try to run any of the tools in KFU, waiting for device is shown and does not go away despite disconnecting and reconnecting/ power on and off.
I have been looking nonstop for the past two days without any help. I have tried to follow many of the guides online, but I never succeed. Can someone please help me solve this problem, I am completely stuck.

You must enable adb on cm10 for one and the driver has to be modified for the pc to detect it due to pid and vid changes in cm10.

I am aware of that however, I cannot boot to cm10. If i could boot to cm10, I would know what to do but right now I am still stuck at the kindle fire logo.
Please forgive my noob-ness. I've done some research but i can't figure out whats up with this device.
I have a Kindle Fire first gen that is stuck in a boot loop. I get the boot logo with "Kindle Fire" and a flicker effect but that is it. This is NOT my device i'm trying to fix it for a non-technical family member. I know they didn't try to root it or any of that. It just stopped working for them one day.
after installing / removing / reinstalling the drivers a million times i finally got the kindle fire utility to see the device as online. its seems like no matter what i do the device goes back to the boot loop and KFU gives me "waiting for device'. anyone have any ideas? do i need the factor cable to get this working again??
according to FAQ 16 Frequently Asked Questions - Amazon Kindle Fire
If the Kindle Fire logo you're talking about flashes and goes dim after being brightly lit for a few seconds, then your device is trying to boot normally to a malfunctioning operating system, likely caused by not wiping the data partition (factory reset) before flashing a ROM. If that's the case, you will likely need a factory cable to get into fastboot mode so you can access or (if needed) install custom recovery, then reinstall a ROM properly.

yes you need a fastboot cable
or
there is a [UTILITY] Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility V1.1! that you can try

Not sure of the state of your Kindle Fire G1 (It's not rooted? Are you sure?), but this sounds similar to what I ran into trying to install CM11.
What version of TWRP do you have installed? If it's 2.2.2.1 and you're trying to install a ROM with KitKat (CM11) you can run into this. I did. When I installed TWRP 2.7.0.1 I could install CM11 just fine without the boot loop.
To install TWRP 2.7.0.1 I found that you could only do so by:
When you turn Kindle Fire on, hold down the power button to cycle through the options when you see the Kindle Fire logo. You want to land on the Recovery option.
Mount storage from TWRP 2.2.2.1 on a PC and copy CM10.x.x and related GApps to SDCARD
Factory reset then reinstall CM10.x.x (with Gapps for that version)
Install Flashify from the PlayStore
Download the latest TWRP for otter/Kindle Fire G1 (2.7.0.1)
Install it with Flashify
Download CM11 and related ZIPs (GApps kk, Change to Nexus 7, etc) to Downloads directory
Restart into TWRP recovery (should be 2.7.0.1 now), and factory reset/reinstall CM11 and related ZIPs from Downloads directory
Should be fine now.
I found that I could only do it this way because for some reason Kindle Fire Utility Kit and ADB couldn't work with my Kindle anymore with TWRP 2.2.2.1 (don't ask, I don't know why). This way works. Just make sure you have a copy of a version of a ROM and GApps on SDCARD at all times since mounting storage might not work anymore in TWRP (again, I'm not sure why). I tried it again and again, but I couldn't get it to work and it might be the same for you. Keep in mind this is for CM11. If you're using stock, then follow sd_shadow's advice.
