[Q] xperia arc update problem!!

hi, i was trying to root my mobile.that's why i unlock the boot loader, then i flash it via fastboot.when i turn on my mobile it's get hang.
then i flash the firmware manually.then my mobile turned on.
but when i wanted to update my arc it's says, your mobile has modified software, and it's stop working.
pls tell me guys what should i do?
help me!

You cannot update by SEUS or OTA with an unlocked bootloader.. Why don't u simply flash the latest ROM?
If u want SE updates.. You'll have to Relock bootloader (check Namaste guide thread for it) with stock ROM (2.3.2) .. root .. then update OTA (Again check the Namaste guide thread for this too)
Note: Root does not need unlocked bootloader..

if i want to root,then i have to downgrade to 2.3.2 then update it into 2.3.3?

Ya u need to roll back to 2.3.2 to unlock bootloader and then have to flash rooted 2.3.3.

If you're still unlocked just flash DooMLord's kernel.... it gives root and maaany maaany other features...

[Q] Badly need Help!! lt18i xperia arc s

i badly need help i used cwm, and mistakely removed system files,etc... but as i didnt had any data so i easily flashed .42 using flash tools and got my phone working and i even rooted it... so now via wi-fi i try to install .62 version but it does not installs and restarts at 3rd dot and i get an error "could not install" .. please help!!

have you unlocked the bootloader?
if yes you need to relock it!

i did relocked it long time back .... but mayb as i removed sytem files,etc few minutes ago using cwm, it might have got it unlocked again or something.... ok i just relocked it and now i am updating it again via wi-fi ... if all goes well, i'll definately owe you one!!

no man i am scared now, even after relocking bootloader it just begins on 3rd dot and restarted and still says could not install.. please help (

If you're sure you've re-locked your bootloader then use pc companion to flash.62, re-flash .42 using flashtool, root and try again.

shew!! mayb what i saw the difference when i first flashed .42 it took time installing system files ..... as i told i mistakely removed sys files in cwm mode before .... so .42 wasn't being flashed the normal way .....
but then as i relocked bootloader (i dont know if it helped or not) i re flashed .42 via flash tools and it installed very fast and then i rooted it again and yay!! when doing .62 update it installed all the dots and i got it back to normal again the .62 gingerbread with root .....

My phone is xperia s 4.2.2
And as u know official Sony blog said that jb is rolling out
So I want tft file
And wand to know is there any problems Gina happen when flashing
Note : I updated boot.IMG from the slimbean update as they said
So what should I do
last thing I want to know if I can get back
Mobile bravie engine and music info
Plz give me link and step by step explanation

Yes you can get back the BRAVIA Engine and download Music Info.

Iam now in slimbean 4.2.2
and I downloaded generic ics .ftf
Also relock.ftf
And I know I have to unroot my phon and also relook boot loader
But what I don't know is the order
What should I do first and second and .....
Cruz there r a lot of title in the general forum
Would u plz give me links and order of
Returning from custom ROM to stock ROM and closing boot loader
and the most important is get back mobile bra via engine

First of all Pay attention very carefully cuz i am writing down everything.
Explanation for you to understand what you will be doing.
---> When you are in Custom slim bean 4.2.2
You are already Rooted And Unlocked.

Now
When You Use Flashtool To Flash Your Downloaded STOCK ftf file.
--->You automatically are Unrooted. because it is STOCK!
Now only thing left to do is, Relock the bootloader.
For that we have the Relock bootloader file.

How to proceed :
1. Put the downloaded ftf and relock file in firmware folder of Flashtool
2. Do not connect phone now.
3. Flash only The ICS ftf file you just downloaded by following method in guide.
4.After flash is complete. Switch on phone and check everything is working.
5. Now time to relock the bootloader
6. Again run flashtool.
7. this time you have to flash only the relock file
8. After flash is complete.
9. Your phone is as good as new.

The Logic is.
If your DRM keys are not changed in the TA partition
Your BE and xLoud and all the enhancements from sony will work once you return your phone to stock.
If you are in custom firmware and kernel
You would need a mod.
I am back to stock very recently and everything works for me.
I hope this information helps.

Managed to brick my phone. It is now stuck on Sony logo and would not boot any further or go to recovery.

Hold on Power & Up Volume button .. The phone will vibrate 3 times & shutdown.
Use Sony Update Service to Repair your firmware or Download any FTF & flash it via Flashtool

Don't worry abt it. Just restore using any one of the mentioned options.
Device will be fine.

It is working after SEUS updae, but now I am stuck with unrooted KK. Can unrooting be done in KK or I will have to downgrade to JB first?

Better Downgrade to 4.3 if u need Root enabled mostly bug free device, Read this thread [Z1C-KK_4.4.2] 14.3.A.0.681 Update Changes/ Visible Bugs
or
to obtain Root on KK follow this thread :- [GUIDE] Update to KitKat with locked bootloader & root

Hi Sparrow, I was trying to get my Z1C back onto a stock ROM and I managed to that with the Sony PC Companion. Then I tried to flash KK (from http://www.mediafire.com/download/g1mahcm5y8cax2q/D5503_14.3.A.0.681_Generic+UK-nosystem.ftf) with flashtool but now my Z1C is stuck in a boot loop. I tried to use the Sony PC Companion to get it back to stock but now it says "There is no software available for your phone/tablet."
Do you have any suggestions?

[Q] How to be sure that Bootloader is Unlocked, still receiving OTA updates

Hi I am a newbie. I had rooted my phone using Towel-root method and am even using xposed framework and am running stock version. After this to Unlock my Bootloader I fallowed procedures as given by sony, but after i entered unlock command in cmd, my xpeira m went into bootloop.
I tried repaing usning pc companion it said that my mobile has been modified and cant repair, and hence using flashtool flashed stock xperia m rom and had to root again.
But the problem is that I still receive OTA updates from Sony for Walkman and album apps. If my booloader is unlocked I shouldn't be recieving those right ? How can I confirm for sure without flashing anything ?
Another question: Now If i flash CWM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ery-philz-touch-6-41-6-xm-dual-t2795778/page2 will that erase my rom ? I mean do I have to flash my stock rom and reroot after flashing CWM for my device to work ?

Hi raghu,
see answer to ur first question, i dont think bootloader status will effect ur updates , because at first i tried to install CWM and went into bootloop , before that i unlocked my bootloader using flashtool, so i flashed .ftf file and went back to stock , when i tried to flash CWM i noticed that my bootloader was still unlocked , flashing .ftf didnt change it at all. i dont know whether this happened to me accidentally or it will really doesnt effect ur bootloader status but the answer is bootloader status will not effect ur updats ( as far as i knw).
answer to ur 2nd question is no it wont erase ( i am sure about it :good ur current ROM, if u flash it right. Dont worry i tried that recovery before, its gud and flash carefully, dont end up into bootloop once again ..safe flashing

Your device's bootloader is absolutely locked if you are still receiving the OTA updates (and installing ). And I would suggest you to check the Bootloader status in Flashtool.
No flashing the CWM will not affect your current ROM

hey there,
open flashtool and look at the figure below

connect ur phone in flashmode and click on the BLU icon , then it will automatically get the code for ur IMEI and all u need to do is click Unlock and if u flash CWM on locked bootloader it wont work and u may end up in bootloop ( nt sure abt that coz never tried till nw )

As far as I am aware only the OTA firmware updates no longer work when you unlock your bootloader, the OTA application updates should work as intended.
For installing the kernel, all you have to do is put your device into fastboot mode, select the kernel with flashtool and then let flashtool work its magic. It won't wipe your ROM as it doesn't touch the /system partition.
You don't even need flashtool to check your bootloader unlock status either. Type in *#*#7378423#*#*, tap Service info, tap Configuration. You will see a section what says rooting status. Underneath rooting status you will find your bootloader status, it will read one of three things;
1) Bootloader unlock allowed: No (meaning you cannot unlock your bootloader, you shouldn't see this as you have unlocked yours by the sounds of the first post)
2) Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes (meaning you can unlock your bootloader, if it says this and you plan on unlocking the bootloader I hope you make backups of your TA partition cause you have no way of locking your bootloader again else. This goes for anybody reading this)
